Nahum 2

اے نینوہ، سب کچھ منتشر کرنے والا تجھ پر حملہ کرنے آ رہا ہے، چنانچہ قلعے کی پہرہ داری کر! راستے پر دھیان دے، کمربستہ ہو جا، جہاں تک ممکن ہے دفاع کی تیاریاں کر!

He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

گو یعقوب تباہ اور اُس کے انگوروں کے باغ نابود ہو گئے ہیں، لیکن اب رب اسرائیل کی شان و شوکت بحال کرے گا۔

For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

وہ دیکھو، نینوہ پر حملہ کرنے والے سورماؤں کی ڈھالیں سرخ ہیں، فوجی قرمزی رنگ کی وردیاں پہنے ہوئے ہیں۔ دشمن نے اپنے رتھوں کو تیار کر رکھا ہے، اور وہ بھڑکتی مشعلوں کی طرح چمک رہے ہیں۔ ساتھ ساتھ سپاہی اپنے نیزے لہرا رہے ہیں۔

The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

اب رتھ گلیوں میں سے اندھا دُھند گزر رہے ہیں۔ چوکوں میں وہ اِدھر اُدھر بھاگ رہے ہیں۔ یوں لگ رہا ہے کہ بھڑکتی مشعلیں یا بادل کی بجلیاں اِدھر اُدھر چمک رہی ہیں۔

The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

حکمران اپنے چیدہ افسروں کو بُلا لیتا ہے، اور وہ ٹھوکر کھا کھا کر آگے بڑھتے ہیں۔ وہ دوڑ کر فصیل کے پاس پہنچ جاتے، جلدی سے حفاظتی ڈھال کھڑی کرتے ہیں۔

He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

پھر دریا کے دروازے کھل جاتے اور شاہی محل لڑکھڑانے لگتا ہے۔

The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

تب دشمن ملکہ کے کپڑے اُتار کر اُسے لے جاتے ہیں۔ اُس کی لونڈیاں چھاتی پیٹ پیٹ کر کبوتروں کی طرح غوں غوں کرتی ہیں۔

And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

نینوہ بڑی دیر سے اچھے خاصے تالاب کی مانند تھا، لیکن اب لوگ اُس سے بھاگ رہے ہیں۔ لوگوں کو کہا جاتا ہے، ”رُک جاؤ، رُکو تو سہی!“ لیکن کوئی نہیں رُکتا۔ سب سر پر پاؤں رکھ کر شہر سے بھاگ رہے ہیں، اور کوئی نہیں مُڑتا۔

But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

آؤ، نینوہ کی چاندی لُوٹ لو، اُس کا سونا چھین لو! کیونکہ ذخیرے کی انتہا نہیں، اُس کے خزانوں کی دولت لامحدود ہے۔

Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

لُوٹنے والے کچھ نہیں چھوڑتے۔ جلد ہی شہر خالی اور ویران و سنسان ہو جاتا ہے۔ ہر دل حوصلہ ہار جاتا، ہر گھٹنا کانپ اُٹھتا، ہر کمر تھرتھرانے لگتی اور ہر چہرے کا رنگ ماند پڑ جاتا ہے۔

She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

اب نینوہ بیٹی کی کیا حیثیت رہی؟ پہلے وہ شیرببر کی ماند تھی، ایسی جگہ جہاں جوان شیروں کو گوشت کھلایا جاتا، جہاں شیر اور شیرنی اپنے بچوں سمیت ٹہلتے تھے۔ کوئی اُنہیں ڈرا کر بھگا نہیں سکتا تھا۔

Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?

اُس وقت شیر اپنے بچوں کے لئے بہت کچھ پھاڑ لیتا اور اپنی شیرنیوں کے لئے بھی گلا گھونٹ کر مار ڈالتا تھا۔ اُس کی ماندیں اور چھپنے کی جگہیں پھاڑے ہوئے شکار سے بھری رہتی تھیں۔

The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

رب الافواج فرماتا ہے، ”اے نینوہ، اب مَیں تجھ سے نپٹ لیتا ہوں۔ مَیں تیرے رتھوں کو نذرِ آتش کر دوں گا، اور تیرے جوان شیر تلوار کی زد میں آ کر مر جائیں گے۔ مَیں ہونے دوں گا کہ آئندہ تجھے زمین پر کچھ نہ ملے جسے پھاڑ کر کھا سکے۔ آئندہ تیرے قاصدوں کی آواز کبھی سنائی نہیں دے گی۔“

Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
