Psalms 14

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ احمق دل میں کہتا ہے، ”اللہ ہے ہی نہیں!“ ایسے لوگ بدچلن ہیں، اُن کی حرکتیں قابلِ گھن ہیں۔ ایک بھی نہیں ہے جو اچھا کام کرے۔

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

رب نے آسمان سے انسان پر نظر ڈالی تاکہ دیکھے کہ کیا کوئی سمجھ دار ہے؟ کیا کوئی اللہ کا طالب ہے؟

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

افسوس، سب صحیح راہ سے بھٹک گئے، سب کے سب بگڑ گئے ہیں۔ کوئی نہیں جو بھلائی کرتا ہو، ایک بھی نہیں۔

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

کیا جو بدی کر کے میری قوم کو روٹی کی طرح کھا لیتے ہیں اُن میں سے ایک کو بھی سمجھ نہیں آتی؟ وہ تو رب کو پکارتے ہی نہیں۔

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

تب اُن پر سخت دہشت چھا گئی، کیونکہ اللہ راست باز کی نسل کے ساتھ ہے۔

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

تم ناچار کے منصوبوں کو خاک میں ملانا چاہتے ہو، لیکن رب خود اُس کی پناہ گاہ ہے۔

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

کاش کوہِ صیون سے اسرائیل کی نجات نکلے! جب رب اپنی قوم کو بحال کرے گا تو یعقوب خوشی کے نعرے لگائے گا، اسرائیل باغ باغ ہو گا۔
