Isaiah 52

Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

اے صیون، اُٹھ، جاگ اُٹھ! اپنی طاقت سے ملبّس ہو جا! اے مُقدّس شہر یروشلم، اپنے شاندار کپڑے سے آراستہ ہو جا! آئندہ کبھی بھی غیرمختون یا ناپاک شخص تجھ میں داخل نہیں ہو گا۔

Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

اے یروشلم، اپنے آپ سے گرد جھاڑ کر کھڑی ہو جا اور تخت پر بیٹھ جا۔ اے گرفتار کی ہوئی صیون بیٹی، اپنی گردن کی زنجیروں کو کھول کر اُن سے آزاد ہو جا!

For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

کیونکہ رب فرماتا ہے، ”تمہیں مفت میں بیچا گیا، اور اب تمہیں پیسے دیئے بغیر چھڑایا جائے گا۔“

For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

کیونکہ رب قادرِ مطلق فرماتا ہے، ”قدیم زمانے میں میری قوم مصر چلی گئی تاکہ وہاں پردیس میں رہے۔ بعد میں اسور نے بلاوجہ اُس پر ظلم کیا ہے۔“

Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

رب فرماتا ہے، ”اب جو زیادتی میری قوم سے ہو رہی ہے اُس کا میرے ساتھ کیا واسطہ ہے؟“ رب فرماتا ہے، ”میری قوم تو مفت میں چھین لی گئی ہے، اور اُس پر حکومت کرنے والے شیخی مار کر پورا دن میرے نام پر کفر بکتے ہیں۔

Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

چنانچہ میری قوم میرے نام کو جان لے گی، اُس دن وہ پہچان لے گی کہ مَیں ہی وہی ہوں جو فرماتا ہے، ’مَیں حاضر ہوں‘!“

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

اُس کے قدم کتنے پیارے ہیں جو پہاڑوں پر چلتے ہوئے خوش خبری سناتا ہے۔ کیونکہ وہ امن و امان، خوشی کا پیغام اور نجات کا اعلان کرے گا، وہ صیون سے کہے گا، ”تیرا خدا بادشاہ ہے!“

Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

سن! تیرے پہرے دار آواز بلند کر رہے ہیں، وہ مل کر خوشی کے نعرے لگا رہے ہیں۔ کیونکہ جب رب کوہِ صیون پر واپس آئے گا تو وہ اپنی آنکھوں سے اِس کا مشاہدہ کریں گے۔

Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

اے یروشلم کے کھنڈرات، شادیانہ بجاؤ، خوشی کے گیت گاؤ! کیونکہ رب نے اپنی قوم کو تسلی دی ہے، اُس نے عوضانہ دے کر یروشلم کو چھڑایا ہے۔

The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

رب اپنی مُقدّس قدرت تمام اقوام پر ظاہر کرے گا، دنیا کی انتہا تک سب ہمارے خدا کی نجات دیکھیں گے۔

Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

جاؤ، چلے جاؤ! وہاں سے نکل جاؤ! کسی بھی ناپاک چیز کو نہ چھونا۔ جو رب کا سامان اُٹھائے چل رہے ہیں وہ وہاں سے نکل کر پاک صاف رہیں۔

For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

لیکن لازم نہیں کہ تم بھاگ کر روانہ ہو جاؤ۔ تمہیں اچانک فرار ہونے کی ضرورت نہیں ہو گی، کیونکہ رب تمہارے آگے بھی چلے گا اور تمہارے پیچھے بھی۔ یوں اسرائیل کا خدا دونوں طرف سے تمہاری حفاظت کرے گا۔

Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

دیکھو، میرا خادم کامیاب ہو گا۔ وہ سربلند، ممتاز اور بہت سرفراز ہو گا۔

As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

تجھے دیکھ کر بہتوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو گئے۔ کیونکہ اُس کی شکل اِتنی خراب تھی، اُس کی صورت کسی بھی انسان سے کہیں زیادہ بگڑی ہوئی تھی۔

So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

لیکن اب بہت سی قومیں اُسے دیکھ کر ہکا بکا ہو جائیں گی، بادشاہ دم بخود رہ جائیں گے۔ کیونکہ جو کچھ اُنہیں نہیں بتایا گیا اُسے وہ دیکھیں گے، اور جو کچھ اُنہوں نے نہیں سنا اُس کی اُنہیں سمجھ آئے گی۔
