II Chronicles 22

And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.

یروشلم کے باشندوں نے یہورام کے سب سے چھوٹے بیٹے اخزیاہ کو تخت پر بٹھا دیا۔ باقی تمام بیٹوں کو اُن لٹیروں نے قتل کیا تھا جو عربوں کے ساتھ شاہی لشکرگاہ میں گھس آئے تھے۔ یہی وجہ تھی کہ یہوداہ کے بادشاہ یہورام کا بیٹا اخزیاہ بادشاہ بنا۔

Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

وہ 22 سال کی عمر میں تخت نشین ہوا اور یروشلم میں رہ کر ایک سال بادشاہ رہا۔ اُس کی ماں عتلیاہ اسرائیل کے بادشاہ عُمری کی پوتی تھی۔

He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly.

اخزیاہ بھی اخی اب کے خاندان کے غلط نمونے پر چل پڑا، کیونکہ اُس کی ماں اُسے بےدین راہوں پر چلنے پر اُبھارتی رہی۔

Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father to his destruction.

باپ کی وفات پر وہ اخی اب کے گھرانے کے مشورے پر چلنے لگا۔ نتیجے میں اُس کا چال چلن رب کو ناپسند تھا۔ آخرکار یہی لوگ اُس کی ہلاکت کا سبب بن گئے۔

He walked also after their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth–gilead: and the Syrians smote Joram.

اِن ہی کے مشورے پر وہ اسرائیل کے بادشاہ یورام بن اخی اب کے ساتھ مل کر شام کے بادشاہ حزائیل سے لڑنے کے لئے نکلا۔ جب رامات جِلعاد کے قریب جنگ چھڑ گئی تو یورام شام کے فوجیوں کے ہاتھوں زخمی ہوا

And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.

اور میدانِ جنگ کو چھوڑ کر یزرعیل واپس آیا تاکہ زخم بھر جائیں۔ جب وہ وہاں ٹھہرا ہوا تھا تو یہوداہ کا بادشاہ اخزیاہ بن یہورام اُس کا حال پوچھنے کے لئے یزرعیل آیا۔

And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

لیکن اللہ کی مرضی تھی کہ یہ ملاقات اخزیاہ کی ہلاکت کا باعث بنے۔ وہاں پہنچ کر وہ یورام کے ساتھ یاہو بن نِمسی سے ملنے کے لئے نکلا، وہی یاہو جسے رب نے مسح کر کے اخی اب کے خاندان کو نیست و نابود کرنے کے لئے مخصوص کیا تھا۔

And it came to pass, that, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Judah, and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah, that ministered to Ahaziah, he slew them.

اخی اب کے خاندان کی عدالت کرتے کرتے یاہو کی ملاقات یہوداہ کے کچھ افسروں اور اخزیاہ کے بعض رشتے داروں سے ہوئی جو اخزیاہ کی خدمت میں اُس کے ساتھ آئے تھے۔ اِنہیں قتل کر کے

And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.

یاہو اخزیاہ کو ڈھونڈنے لگا۔ پتا چلا کہ وہ سامریہ شہر میں چھپ گیا ہے۔ اُسے یاہو کے پاس لایا گیا جس نے اُسے قتل کر دیا۔ توبھی اُسے عزت کے ساتھ دفن کیا گیا، کیونکہ لوگوں نے کہا، ”آخر وہ یہوسفط کا پوتا ہے جو پورے دل سے رب کا طالب رہا۔“ اُس وقت اخزیاہ کے خاندان میں کوئی نہ پایا گیا جو بادشاہ کا کام سنبھال سکتا۔

But when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.

جب اخزیاہ کی ماں عتلیاہ کو معلوم ہوا کہ میرا بیٹا مر گیا ہے تو وہ یہوداہ کے پورے شاہی خاندان کو قتل کرنے لگی۔

But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she slew him not.

لیکن اخزیاہ کی سگی بہن یہوسبع نے اخزیاہ کے چھوٹے بیٹے یوآس کو چپکے سے اُن شہزادوں میں سے نکال لیا جنہیں قتل کرنا تھا اور اُسے اُس کی دایہ کے ساتھ ایک سٹور میں چھپا دیا جس میں بستر وغیرہ محفوظ رکھے جاتے تھے۔ وہاں وہ عتلیاہ کی گرفت سے محفوظ رہا۔ یہوسبع یہویدع امام کی بیوی تھی۔

And he was with them hid in the house of God six years: and Athaliah reigned over the land.

بعد میں یوآس کو رب کے گھر میں منتقل کیا گیا جہاں وہ اُن کے ساتھ اُن چھ سالوں کے دوران چھپا رہا جب عتلیاہ ملکہ تھی۔
