I Chronicles 13

And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.

داؤد نے تمام افسروں سے مشورہ کیا۔ اُن میں ہزار ہزار اور سَو سَو فوجیوں پر مقرر افسر شامل تھے۔

And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:

پھر اُس نے اسرائیل کی پوری جماعت سے کہا، ”اگر آپ کو منظور ہو اور رب ہمارے خدا کی مرضی ہو تو آئیں ہم پورے ملک کے اسرائیلی بھائیوں کو دعوت دیں کہ آ کر ہمارے ساتھ جمع ہو جائیں۔ وہ امام اور لاوی بھی شریک ہوں جو اپنے اپنے شہروں اور چراگاہوں میں بستے ہیں۔

And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.

پھر ہم اپنے خدا کے عہد کا صندوق دوبارہ اپنے پاس واپس لائیں، کیونکہ ساؤل کے دورِ حکومت میں ہم اُس کی فکر نہیں کرتے تھے۔“

And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.

پوری جماعت متفق ہوئی، کیونکہ یہ منصوبہ سب کو درست لگا۔

So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath–jearim.

چنانچہ داؤد نے پورے اسرائیل کو جنوب میں مصر کے سیحور سے لے کر شمال میں لبو حمات تک بُلایا تاکہ سب مل کر اللہ کے عہد کا صندوق قِریَت یعریم سے یروشلم لے جائیں۔

And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath–jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.

پھر وہ اُن کے ساتھ یہوداہ کے بعلہ یعنی قِریَت یعریم گیا تاکہ رب خدا کا صندوق اُٹھا کر یروشلم لے جائیں، وہی صندوق جس پر رب کے نام کا ٹھپا لگا ہے اور جہاں وہ صندوق کے اوپر کروبی فرشتوں کے درمیان تخت نشین ہے۔

And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.

قِریَت یعریم پہنچ کر لوگوں نے اللہ کے صندوق کو ابی نداب کے گھر سے نکال کر ایک نئی بَیل گاڑی پر رکھ دیا، اور عُزّہ اور اخیو اُسے یروشلم کی طرف لے جانے لگے۔

And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.

داؤد اور تمام اسرائیلی گاڑی کے پیچھے چل پڑے۔ سب اللہ کے حضور پورے زور سے خوشی منانے لگے۔ جونیپر کی لکڑی کے مختلف ساز بھی بجائے جا رہے تھے۔ فضا ستاروں، سرودوں، دفوں، جھانجھوں اور تُرموں کی آوازوں سے گونج اُٹھی۔

And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.

وہ گندم گاہنے کی ایک جگہ پر پہنچ گئے جس کے مالک کا نام کیدون تھا۔ وہاں بَیل اچانک بےقابو ہو گئے۔ عُزّہ نے جلدی سے عہد کا صندوق پکڑ لیا تاکہ وہ گر نہ جائے۔

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.

اُسی لمحے رب کا غضب اُس پر نازل ہوا، کیونکہ اُس نے عہد کے صندوق کو چھونے کی جرٲت کی تھی۔ وہیں اللہ کے حضور عُزّہ گر کر ہلاک ہوا۔

And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez–uzza to this day.

داؤد کو بڑا رنج ہوا کہ رب کا غضب عُزّہ پر یوں ٹوٹ پڑا ہے۔ اُس وقت سے اُس جگہ کا نام پرض عُزّہ یعنی ’عُزّہ پر ٹوٹ پڑنا‘ ہے۔

And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?

اُس دن داؤد کو اللہ سے خوف آیا۔ اُس نے سوچا، ”مَیں کس طرح اللہ کا صندوق اپنے پاس پہنچا سکوں گا؟“

So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed–edom the Gittite.

چنانچہ اُس نے فیصلہ کیا کہ ہم عہد کا صندوق یروشلم نہیں لے جائیں گے بلکہ اُسے عوبید ادوم جاتی کے گھر میں محفوظ رکھیں گے۔

And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed–edom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obed–edom, and all that he had.

وہاں وہ تین ماہ تک پڑا رہا۔ اِن تین مہینوں کے دوران رب نے عوبید ادوم کے گھرانے اور اُس کی پوری ملکیت کو برکت دی۔
