I Samuel 29

Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites pitched by a fountain which is in Jezreel.

Und die Philister versammelten alle ihre Heere nach Aphek; und Israel war an der Quelle gelagert, die bei Jisreel ist.

And the lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands: but David and his men passed on in the rereward with Achish.

Und die Fürsten der Philister zogen vorüber nach Hunderten und nach Tausenden, und David und seine Männer zogen zuletzt mit Achis vorüber.

Then said the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day?

Da sprachen die Fürsten der Philister: Was sollen diese Hebräer? Und Achis sprach zu den Fürsten der Philister: Ist das nicht David, der Knecht Sauls, des Königs von Israel, der schon seit Jahr und Tag bei mir gewesen ist? und ich habe gar nichts an ihm gefunden von dem Tage an, da er abgefallen ist, bis auf diesen Tag.

And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?

Aber die Fürsten der Philister wurden zornig über ihn, und die Fürsten der Philister sprachen zu ihm: Schicke den Mann zurück, daß er an seinen Ort zurückkehre, wohin du ihn bestellt hast, und daß er nicht mit uns in den Streit hinabziehe und uns nicht zum Widersacher werde im Streite; denn womit könnte der sich angenehm machen bei seinem Herrn? nicht mit den Köpfen dieser Männer?

Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?

Ist das nicht David, von dem sie in den Reigen sangen und sprachen: "Saul hat seine Tausende erschlagen, und David seine Zehntausende"?

Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.

Und Achis rief David und sprach zu ihm: So wahr Jehova lebt, du bist redlich; und wohlgefällig in meinen Augen ist dein Ausgang und dein Eingang bei mir im Heerlager; denn ich habe nichts Böses an dir gefunden von dem Tage an, da du zu mir gekommen bist, bis auf diesen Tag; aber in den Augen der Fürsten bist du nicht wohlgefällig.

Wherefore now return, and go in peace, that thou displease not the lords of the Philistines.

Und nun kehre zurück und gehe hin in Frieden, damit du nichts Übles tuest in den Augen der Fürsten der Philister.

And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?

Und David sprach zu Achis: Aber was habe ich getan, und was hast du an diesem Knechte gefunden von dem Tage an, da ich vor dir gewesen bin bis auf diesen Tag, daß ich nicht kommen und wider die Feinde meines Herrn, des Königs, streiten soll?

And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.

Und Achis antwortete und sprach zu David: Ich weiß es, denn du bist wohlgefällig in meinen Augen wie ein Engel Gottes; doch die Fürsten der Philister haben gesagt: Er soll nicht mit uns in den Streit hinaufziehen!

Wherefore now rise up early in the morning with thy master's servants that are come with thee: and as soon as ye be up early in the morning, and have light, depart.

So mache dich nun des Morgens früh auf, du und die Knechte deines Herrn, die mit dir gekommen sind; und machet euch des Morgens früh auf! sobald es euch hell wird, ziehet fort.

So David and his men rose up early to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

Und David machte sich früh auf, er und seine Männer, daß sie am Morgen fortzögen, um in das Land der Philister zurückzukehren. Die Philister aber zogen nach Jisreel hinauf.
