Psalms 14

احمقان در دل خود می‌گویند: «خدا وجود ندارد.» اینها اشخاصی فاسد هستند و کارهای زشت می‌کنند و کار نیک از آنها سر نمی‌زند.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

خداوند از آسمان بر مردم روی زمین می‌نگرد تا ببیند که آیا شخص فهمیده‌ای وجود دارد که طالب خدا باشد.

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

امّا همه گمراه و یکسان فاسد شده‌اند. حتّی یک نفر نیكوکار هم در بین آنها نیست.

They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

خداوند می‌پرسد: «آیا این بدکاران شعور ندارند که بندگان مرا مانند نان می‌خورند و مرا را به یاد نمی‌آورند؟»

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

امّا آنها به وحشت خواهند افتاد، زیرا خدا مددکار نیکوکاران است.

There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.

وقتی بدکاران نقشه‌های مسکینان را خراب می‌کنند، خداوند پناهگاه آنان است.

Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.

ای کاش پیروزی برای بنی‌اسرائیل از صهیون بیاید، وقتی خداوند قوم خود را از اسارت آزاد کند، یعقوب شاد خواهد شد و بنی‌اسرائیل شادی خواهد کرد.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
