Nahum 2

Разсипникът се изкачи против теб. Пази крепостта, бди за пътя, стегни слабините си, събери цялата си сила,

He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.

понеже ГОСПОД възстановява величието на Яков както величието на Израил — защото грабителите ги ограбиха и съсипаха лозовите им пръчки.

For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

Щитът на силните му е оцветен в червено, силните мъже са облечени в червеникаво, колесниците блестят от стомана в деня на приготовлението му и елховите копия се размахват.

The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

Колесниците препускат из улиците, изпреварват се по площадите; видът им е като факли, стрелкат се като светкавици.

The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

Той си спомня за своите благородни — те се препъват в пътя си, бързат към стената й и защитният покрив е приготвен.

He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.

Портите на реките се отварят и дворецът се разрушава.

The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.

Решено е — ще се оголи Ниневия, ще се плени. И слугините й стенат като с гласа на гълъбите и се бият по гърдите.

And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.

Ниневия отдавна е била пълна с мъже като езеро с вода, но те пак бягат. Стойте! Стойте! Но никой не се обръща назад.

But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

Грабете сребро, грабете злато, защото запасът е безкраен, богатството на всякакви скъпоценни вещи.

Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

Празнота и изпразване, и запустение! Сърцето се топи и колената се тресат, болки във всички слабини и лицата на всички са побледнели.

She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

Къде е бърлогата на лъвовете и мястото, където се хранеха младите лъвове, където ходеше лъвът, лъвицата и малкото лъвче и нямаше кой да ги плаши?

Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?

Къде е лъвът, който разкъсваше достатъчно за лъвчетата си и давеше за лъвиците си, и пълнеше пещерите си с плячка и бърлогите си — с грабеж?

The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

Ето, Аз съм против теб, заявява ГОСПОД на Войнствата. И ще изгоря в дим колесниците й, и мечът ще пояде младите ти лъвове; ще отсека плячката ти от земята и гласът на пратениците ти няма да се чуе вече.

Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
