Proverbs 21

Η καρδια του βασιλεως ειναι εν τη χειρι του Κυριου ως ρευματα υδατων οπου θελει στρεφει αυτην.

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Πασαι αι οδοι του ανθρωπου φαινονται ορθαι εις τους οφθαλμους αυτου πλην ο Κυριος σταθμιζει τας καρδιας.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Να καμνη τις δικαιοσυνην και κρισιν ειναι αρεστοτερον εις τον Κυριον παρα θυσιαν.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Το επηρμενον ομμα και η αλαζων καρδια, ο λυχνος των ασεβων, ειναι αμαρτια.

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

Οι λογισμοι του επιμελους φερουσι βεβαιως εις αφθονιαν παντος δε προπετους βεβαιως εις ενδειαν.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Το αποκταν θησαυρους δια ψευδους γλωσσης ειναι ματαιοτης αστατος των ζητουντων θανατον.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

Αι αρπαγαι των ασεβων θελουσιν εξολοθρευσει αυτους διοτι αρνουνται να πραττωσι το δικαιον.

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

Η οδος του διεφθαρμενου ανθρωπου ειναι σκολια του δε καθαρου το εργον ειναι ευθες.

The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Καλητερον να κατοικη τις εν γωνια δωματος, παρα εν οικω ευρυχωρω μετα γυναικος φιλεριδος.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Η ψυχη του ασεβους επιθυμει κακον ο πλησιον αυτου δεν ευρισκει χαριν εις τους οφθαλμους αυτου.

The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

Οταν ο χλευαστης τιμωρηται, ο απλους γινεται σοφωτερος και ο σοφος διδασκομενος λαμβανει γνωσιν.

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

Ο δικαιος συλλογιζεται την οικιαν του ασεβους, οταν οι ασεβεις κατακρημνιζωνται εις την κακιαν αυτων.

The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

Οστις εμφραττει τα ωτα αυτου εις την κραυγην του πτωχου, θελει φωναξει και αυτος και δεν θελει εισακουσθη.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Δωρον κρυφιον καταπραυνει θυμον και χαρισμα εις τον κολπον βαλλομενον, οργην ισχυραν.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

Χαρα ειναι εις τον δικαιον να καμνη κρισιν ολεθρος δε εις τους εργατας της ανομιας.

It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Ανθρωπος αποπλανωμενος απο της οδου της συνεσεως θελει κατασκηνωσει εν τη συναξει των τεθανατωμενων.

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

Ο αγαπων ευθυμιαν θελει κατασταθη πενης ο αγαπων οινον και μυρα δεν θελει πλουτησει.

He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Ο ασεβης θελει εισθαι αντιλυτρον του δικαιου, και των ευθεων ο παραβατης.

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

Καλητερον να κατοικη τις εν γη ερημω παρα μετα γυναικος φιλεριδος και θυμωδους.

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Θησαυρος πολυτιμος και μυρα ευρισκονται εν τω οικω του σοφου ο δε αφρων ανθρωπος καταδαπανα αυτα.

There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

Ο θηρευων δικαιοσυνην και ελεος θελει ευρει ζωην, δικαιοσυνην και δοξαν.

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

Ο σοφος εκπορθει την πολιν των δυνατων και καταβαλλει το οχυρωμα του θαρρους αυτης.

A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

Οστις φυλαττει το στομα αυτου και την γλωσσαν αυτου, φυλαττει την ψυχην αυτου απο στενοχωριων.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

Υπερηφανος και αλαζων χλευαστης καλειται, οστις πραττει μετα θυμου αλαζονειας.

Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

Αι επιθυμιαι του οκνηρου θανατονουσιν αυτον διοτι αι χειρες αυτου δεν θελουσι να εργαζωνται

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

επιθυμει ολην την ημεραν επιθυμιας ο δε δικαιος διδει και δεν φειδεται.

He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

Η θυσια των ασεβων ειναι βδελυγμα πολλω μαλλον οταν προσφερωσιν αυτην μετα πονηριας.

The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

Ο ψευδης μαρτυς θελει απολεσθη ο δε ανθρωπος οστις υπακουει θελει λαλει παντοτε.

A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

Ο ασεβης ανθρωπος σκληρυνει το προσωπον αυτου αλλ ο ευθυς κατευθυνει τας οδους αυτου.

A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

Δεν ειναι σοφια ουτε συνεσις ουτε βουλη εναντιον του Κυριου.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

Ο ιππος ετοιμαζεται δια την ημεραν της μαχης η σωτηρια ομως ειναι παρα Κυριου.

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
