Joshua 17

Ητο και κληρος δια την φυλην του Μανασση, διοτι αυτος ητο ο πρωτοτοκος του Ιωσηφ, δια τον Μαχειρ τον πρωτοτοκον του Μανασση, τον πατερα του Γαλααδ επειδη αυτος ητο ανηρ πολεμιστης, δια τουτο ελαβε την Γαλααδ και την Βασαν.

There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

Ητο κληρος και δια τους λοιπους υιους Μανασση κατα τας συγγενειας αυτων, δια τους υιους του Αβι−εζερ, και δια τους υιους του Χελεκ, και δια τους υιους του Ασριηλ, και δια τους υιους του Συχεμ, και δια τους υιους του Εφερ, και δια τους υιους του Σεμιδα. Ταυτα ησαν τα αρσενικα τεκνα του Μανασση υιου του Ιωσηφ, κατα τας συγγενειας αυτων.

There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

Ο Σαλπααδ ομως, ο υιος του Εφερ, υιου του Γαλααδ, υιου του Μαχειρ, υιου του Μανασση, δεν ειχεν υιους, αλλα θυγατερας και ταυτα ειναι τα ονοματα των θυγατερων αυτου, Μααλα και Νουα, Αγλα, Μελχα και Περσα.

But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

Και προσελθουσαι ενωπιον Ελεαζαρ του ιερεως, και ενωπιον Ιησου υιου του Ναυη και ενωπιον των αρχοντων, ειπον, Ο Κυριος προσεταξεν εις τον Μωυσην να δωση εις ημας κληρονομιαν μεταξυ των αδελφων ημων. Και εδοθη εις αυτας κατα την προσταγην του Κυριου κληρονομια μεταξυ των αδελφων του πατρος αυτων.

And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

Και επεσον εις τον Μανασση δεκα μεριδια, εκτος της γης Γαλααδ και Βασαν, των περαν του Ιορδανου

And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;

διοτι αι θυγατερες του Μανασση ελαβον κληρονομιαν μεταξυ των υιων αυτου και οι επιλοιποι υιοι του Μανασση ελαβον την γην Γαλααδ.

Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

Και τα ορια του Μανασση ησαν απο Ασηρ εως της Μιχμεθα κειμενης απεναντι της Συχεμ και εξετεινοντο τα ορια κατα τα δεξια, εως των κατοικων της Εν−θαπφουα.

And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lieth before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of En–tappuah.

Ο δε Μανασσης ειχε την γην Θαπφουα η δε Θαπφουα επι των οριων του Μανασση ανηκεν εις τους υιους Εφραιμ.

Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;

Και κατεβαινε το οριον εως του χειμαρρου Κανα, προς μεσημβριαν του χειμαρρου αυται αι πολεις του Εφραιμ ησαν μεταξυ των πολεων του Μανασση και το οριον του Μανασση ητο προς βορραν του χειμαρρου, και η διεξοδος αυτου προς την θαλασσαν.

And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:

προς μεσημβριαν ητο του Εφραιμ, και προς βορραν του Μανασση και η θαλασσα ητο το οριον αυτου και ηνονοντο προς βορραν με το του Ασηρ, και προς ανατολας με το του Ισσαχαρ.

Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

Και ειχεν ο Μανασσης, εν τη γη Ισσαχαρ και Ασηρ, την Βαιθ−σαν και τας κωμοπολεις αυτης, και την Ιβλεαμ και τας κωμοπολεις αυτης, και τους κατοικους της Δωρ και τας κωμοπολεις αυτης, και τους κατοικους της Εν−δωρ και τας κωμοπολεις αυτης, και τους κατοικους της Θααναχ και τας κωμοπολεις αυτης, και τους κατοικους της Μεγιδδω και τας κωμοπολεις αυτης, τρεις επαρχιας.

And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth–shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.

Οι δε υιοι Μανασση δεν ηδυνηθησαν να εκδιωξωσι τους κατοικους των πολεων τουτων, αλλ οι Χαναναιοι επεμενον να κατοικωσιν εν τη γη εκεινη.

Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

Αφου ομως υπερισχυσαν οι υιοι Ισραηλ, καθυπεβαλον τους Χαναναιους εις φορον, πλην δεν εξεδιωξαν αυτους ολοκληρως.

Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.

Και ειπον προς τον Ιησουν οι υιοι Ιωσηφ λεγοντες, Δια τι εδωκας εις ημας ενα μονον κληρον και μιαν μεριδα να κληρονομησωμεν, ενω ειμεθα λαος πολυς, καθως ο Κυριος ευλογησεν ημας εως του νυν;

And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD hath blessed me hitherto?

Και ειπε προς αυτους ο Ιησους, Εαν ησθε λαος πολυς, αναβητε εις τον δρυμον και κοψατε μερος αυτου δι εαυτους εν τη γη των Φερεζαιων και των Ραφαειμ, εαν το ορος Εφραιμ ηναι παραπολυ στενοχωρον δια σας.

And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.

Και ειπον οι υιοι Ιωσηφ, Δεν αρκει εις ημας το ορος και παντες οι Χαναναιοι οι κατοικουντες την γην της κοιλαδος εχουσιν αμαξας σιδηρας, και οι της Βαιθ−σαν και των κωμοπολεων αυτης και οι της κοιλαδος Ιεζραελ.

And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth–shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.

Και ειπεν ο Ιησους προς τον οικον Ιωσηφ, προς τον Εφραιμ και προς τον Μανασση, λεγων, Συ εισαι λαος πολυς και εις δυναμιν μεγαλην συ δεν θελεις εχει ενα μονον κληρον

And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:

αλλα το ορος θελει εισθαι ιδικον σου επειδη ειναι δρυμος, και θελεις κατακοψει αυτον και εως των ακρων αυτου θελει εισθαι ιδικον σου επειδη θελεις εκδιωξει τους Χαναναιους, αν και εχωσιν αμαξας σιδηρας και ηναι δυνατοι.

But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
