Jeremiah 4

Εαν επιστρεψης, Ισραηλ, λεγει Κυριος, επιστρεψον προς εμε και εαν εκβαλης τα βδελυγματα σου απ εμπροσθεν μου, τοτε δεν θελεις μετατοπισθη.

If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

Και θελεις ομοσει, λεγων, Ζη Κυριος, εν αληθεια εν κρισει και εν δικαιοσυνη και τα εθνη θελουσιν ευλογεισθαι εν αυτω και εν αυτω θελουσι δοξασθη.

And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

Διοτι ουτω λεγει Κυριος προς τους ανδρας Ιουδα και προς την Ιερουσαλημ Αροτριασατε τους κεχερσωμενους αγρους σας και μη σπειρετε μεταξυ ακανθων.

For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.

Περιτμηθητε εις τον Κυριον και αφαιρεσατε τας ακροβυστιας της καρδιας σας, ανδρες Ιουδα και κατοικοι της Ιερουσαλημ, μηποτε εξελθη ο θυμος μου ως πυρ και εξαφθη, και ουδεις θελει εισθαι ο σβεσων, ενεκεν της κακιας των πραξεων σας.

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Αναγγειλατε προς τον Ιουδαν και κηρυξατε προς την Ιερουσαλημ και ειπατε και ηχησατε σαλπιγγα εις την γην βοησατε, συναθροισθητε και ειπατε, Συναχθητε και ας εισελθωμεν εις τας ωχυρωμενας πολεις.

Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

Υψωσατε σημαιαν προς την Σιων συρθητε, μη σταθητε διοτι εγω θελω φερει κακον απο βορρα και συντριμμον μεγαν.

Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.

Ο λεων ανεβη εκ του δασους αυτου και ο εξολοθρευτης των εθνων εσηκωθη εξηλθεν εκ του τοπου αυτου δια να ερημωση την γην σου αι πολεις σου θελουσι καταστραφη, ωστε δεν θελει εισθαι ουδεις ο κατοικων.

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

Δια τουτο περιζωσθητε σακκους, θρηνησατε και ολολυξατε διοτι ο φλογερος θυμος του Κυριου δεν εστραφη αφ ημων.

For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.

Και εν εκεινη τη ημερα, λεγει Κυριος, η καρδια του βασιλεως θελει χαθη και η καρδια των αρχοντων και οι ιερεις θελουσιν εκθαμβηθη και οι προφηται θελουσιν εκπλαγη.

And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.

Τοτε ειπα, Ω Κυριε Θεε απατων λοιπον ηπατησας τον λαον τουτον και την Ιερουσαλημ, λεγων, Ειρηνην θελετε εχει ενω η μαχαιρα εφθασεν εως της ψυχης.

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.

Εν εκεινω τω καιρω θελουσιν ειπει προς τον λαον τουτον και προς την Ιερουσαλημ, Ανεμος καυστικος των υψηλων τοπων της ερημου φυσα προς την θυγατερα του λαου μου, ουχι δια να ανεμιση ουδε δια να καθαριση

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,

ανεμος σφοδροτερος παρα τουτους θελει ελθει δι εμε εγω δε τωρα θελω εκφερει κρισεις εις αυτους.

Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.

Ιδου, ως νεφελη θελει αναβη, και αι αμαξαι αυτου θελουσιν εισθαι ως ανεμοστροβιλος οι ιπποι αυτου ειναι ελαφροτεροι των αετων. Ουαι εις ημας, διοτι εχαθημεν.

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Ιερουσαλημ, αποπλυνον την καρδιαν σου απο κακιας, δια να σωθης εως ποτε θελουσι κατοικει εν σοι οι ματαιοι διαλογισμοι σου;

O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

Διοτι φωνη αναγγελλει εκ του Δαν και κηρυττει θλιψιν απο του ορους Εφραιμ.

For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.

Ενθυμισατε τουτο εις τα εθνη ιδου, διακηρυξατε εναντιον της Ιερουσαλημ, οτι πολιορκηται ερχονται απο γης μακρας και εκπεμπουσι την φωνην αυτων εναντιον των πολεων Ιουδα.

Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.

Ως φυλακες αγρου παρεταχθησαν εναντιον αυτης κυκλοθεν διοτι απεστατησεν εναντιον μου, λεγει Κυριος.

As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.

Αι οδοι σου και τα επιτηδευματα σου επροξενησαν εις σε ταυτα αυτη η κακια σου εσταθη μαλιστα πικρα, ναι, εφθασεν εως της καρδιας σου.

Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.

Τα εντοσθια μου, τα εντοσθια μου πονω εις τα βαθη της καρδιας μου η καρδια μου θορυβειται εν εμοι δεν δυναμαι να σιωπησω, διοτι ηκουσας, ψυχη μου, ηχον σαλπιγγος, αλαλαγμον πολεμου.

My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

Συντριμμος επι συντριμμον διακηρυττεται διοτι πασα η γη ερημουται εξαιφνης αι σκηναι μου ηρημωθησαν και τα παραπετασματα μου εν μια στιγμη.

Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.

Εως ποτε θελω βλεπει την σημαιαν, θελω ακουει τον ηχον της σαλπιγγος;

How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?

Διοτι ο λαος μου ειναι αφρων δεν με εγνωρισαν ειναι υιοι αφρονες και δεν εχουσι συνεσιν ειναι σοφοι εις το να κακοποιωσι, να αγαθοποιωσιν ομως δεν εξευρουσιν.

For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

Επεβλεψα επι την γην και ιδου, αμορφος και ερημος και εις τους ουρανους και δεν υπηρχε το φως αυτων.

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

Ειδον τα ορη και ιδου, ετρεμον και παντες οι λοφοι κατεσειοντο.

I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

Ειδον και ιδου, δεν υπηρχεν ανθρωπος και παντα τα πετεινα του ουρανου ειχον φυγει.

I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

Ειδον και ιδου, ο Καρμηλος ερημος και πασαι αι πολεις αυτου κατηδαφισμεναι απο προσωπου Κυριου, απο του φλογερου θυμου αυτου.

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

Διοτι ουτω λεγει Κυριος πασα η γη θελει εισθαι ερημος συντελειαν ομως δεν θελω καμει.

For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

Δια τουτο η γη θελει πενθησει και οι ουρανοι ανωθεν θελουσι συσκοτασει διοτι εγω ελαλησα, απεφασισα και δεν θελω μετανοησει ουδε θελω επιστρεψει απο τουτου.

For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.

Πασα η πολις θελει φυγει υπο του θορυβου των ιππεων και των τοξοτων θελουσιν ελθει εις τα δαση και αναβη επι τους βραχους πασα πολις θελει εγκαταλειφθη και δεν θελει εισθαι ανθρωπος κατοικων εν αυταις.

The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.

Και συ, ηφανισμενη, τι θελεις καμει; και αν ενδυθης κοκκινον, και αν στολισθης με στολισμους χρυσους, και αν διατεινης με στιμμι τους οφθαλμους σου, εις ματην θελεις καλλωπισθη οι ερασται σου θελουσι σε καταφρονησει, θελουσι ζητει την ζωην σου.

And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.

Διοτι ηκουσα φωνην ως κοιλοπονουσης, στεναγμον ως πρωτογεννωσης φωνην της θυγατρος Σιων, ητις θρηνολογει εαυτην, εκτεινει τας χειρας αυτης, λεγουσα, Ουαι εις εμε τωρα, διοτι η ψυχη μου εκλειπει ενεκεν των φονευτων.

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
