Isaiah 40

Παρηγορειτε, παρηγορειτε τον λαον μου, λεγει ο Θεος σας.

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

Λαλησατε παρηγορητικα προς την Ιερουσαλημ, και φωνησατε προς αυτην, οτι ο καιρος της ταπεινωσεως αυτης επληρωθη, οτι η ανομια αυτης συνεχωρηθη διοτι ελαβεν εκ της χειρος Κυριου διπλασιον δια πασας τας αμαρτιας αυτης.

Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.

Φωνη βοωντος εν τη ερημω, Ετοιμασατε την οδον του Κυριου. ευθειας καμετε εν τη ερημω τας τριβους του Θεου ημων.

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Πασα φαραγξ θελει υψωθη και παν ορος και βουνος θελει ταπεινωθη και τα σκολια θελουσι γεινει ευθεα και οι τραχεις τοποι ομαλοι

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

και η δοξα του Κυριου θελει φανερωθη και πασα σαρξ ομου θελει ιδει διοτι το στομα του Κυριου ελαλησε.

And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Φωνη λεγουσα, Φωνησον και ειπε, Τι να φωνησω; πασα σαρξ ειναι χορτος και πασα η δοξα αυτης ως ανθος του αγρου.

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

Ο χορτος εξηρανθη, το ανθος εμαρανθη διοτι πνευμα Κυριου επνευσεν επ αυτο χορτος τη αληθεια ειναι ο λαος.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

Ο χορτος εξηρανθη, το ανθος εμαρανθη ο λογος ομως του Θεου ημων μενει εις τον αιωνα.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Συ, ο φερων εις την Σιων αγαθας αγγελιας, αναβα εις το ορος το υψηλον συ, ο φερων αγαθας αγγελιας εις την Ιερουσαλημ, υψωσον ισχυρως την φωνην σου υψωσον μη φοβου ειπε προς τας πολεις του Ιουδα, Ιδου, ο Θεος υμων.

O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

Ιδου, Κυριος ο Θεος θελει ελθει μετα δυναμεως και ο βραχιων αυτου θελει εξουσιαζει δι αυτον ιδου, ο μισθος αυτου ειναι μετ αυτου και η αμοιβη αυτου ενωπιον αυτου.

Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Θελει βοσκησει το ποιμνιον αυτου ως ποιμην θελει συναξει τα αρνια δια του βραχιονος αυτου και βαστασει εν τω κολπω αυτου και θελει οδηγει τα θηλαζοντα.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Τις εμετρησε τα υδατα εν τω κοιλωματι της χειρος αυτου και εσταθμισε τους ουρανους με την σπιθαμην και συμπεριελαβεν εν μετρω το χωμα της γης και εζυγισε τα ορη δια στατηρος και τους λοφους δια πλαστιγγος;

Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

Τις εσταθμισε το πνευμα του Κυριου η εγεινε συμβουλος αυτου και, εδιδαξεν αυτον;

Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

Μετα τινος συνεβουλευθη, και τις εσυνετισεν αυτον και εδιδαξεν αυτον την οδον της κρισεως και παρεδωκεν εις αυτον επιστημην και εδειξεν εις αυτον την οδον της συνεσεως;

With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Ιδου, τα εθνη ειναι ως σανις απο καδου και λογιζονται ως η λεπτη σκονη της πλαστιγγος ιδου, η μετατοπιζει τας νησους ως σκονην.

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

Και ο Λιβανος δεν ειναι ικανος εις καυσιν ουδε τα ζωα αυτου ικανα εις ολοκαυτωμα.

And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.

Παντα τα εθνη ενωπιον αυτου ειναι ως μηδεν λογιζονται παρ αυτω ολιγωτερον παρα το μηδεν και την ματαιοτητα.

All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

Με τινα λοιπον θελετε εξομοιωσει τον Θεον; η τι ομοιωμα θελετε προσαρμοσει εις αυτον;

To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

Ο τεχνιτης χωνευει εικονα γλυπτην, και ο χρυσοχοος εκτεινει χρυσον επ αυτην και χυνει αργυρας αλυσεις.

The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.

Ο πτωχος καμνων προσφοραν εκλεγει ξυλον ασηπτον και ζητει εις εαυτον επιδεξιον τεχνιτην, δια να κατασκευαση εικονα γλυπτην μη σαλευομενην.

He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.

Δεν εγνωρισατε; δεν ηκουσατε; δεν ανηγγελθη προς εσας εξ αρχης; δεν ενοησατε απο καταβολης της γης;

Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

Αυτος ειναι ο καθημενος επι τον γυρον της γης και οι κατοικοι αυτης ειναι ως ακριδες ο εκτεινων τους ουρανους ως παραπετασμα και εξαπλονων αυτους ως σκηνην προς κατοικησιν

It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

ο φερων τους ηγεμονας εις το μηδεν και καθιστων ως ματαιοτητα τους κριτας της γης.

That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

Αλλ ουδε θελουσι φυτευθη αλλ ουδε θελουσι σπαρθη αλλ ουδε θελει �ιζωθη εν τη γη το στελεχος αυτων μονον να πνευση επ αυτους, θελουσι παραυτα ξηρανθη και ο ανεμοστροβιλος θελει αναρπασει αυτους ως αχυρον.

Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

Με τινα λοιπον θελετε με εξομοιωσει και θελω εξισωθη; λεγει ο Αγιος.

To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

Σηκωσατε υψηλα τους οφθαλμους σας και ιδετε, τις εποιησε ταυτα; Ο εξαγων το στρατευμα αυτων κατα αριθμον ο ονομαστι καλων ταυτα παντα εν τη μεγαλειοτητι της δυναμεως αυτου, διοτι ειναι ισχυρος εις εξουσιαν δεν λειπει ουδεν.

Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

Δια τι λεγεις, Ιακωβ, και λαλεις, Ισραηλ, Η οδος μου ειναι κεκρυμμενη απο του Κυριου και η κρισις μου παραμελειται υπο του Θεου μου;

Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

Δεν εγνωρισας; δεν ηκουσας, οτι ο αιωνιος Θεος, ο Κυριος, ο Ποιητης των ακρων της γης, δεν ατονει και δεν αποκαμνει; δεν εξιχνιαζεται η φρονησις αυτου.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Διδει ισχυν εις τους ητονημενους και αυξανει την δυναμιν εις τους αδυνατους.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Και οι νεοι θελουσιν ατονησει και αποκαμει, και οι εκλεκτοι νεοι θελουσιν αδυνατησει πανταπασιν

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

αλλ οι προσμενοντες τον Κυριον θελουσιν ανανεωσει την δυναμιν αυτων θελουσιν αναβη με πτερυγας ως αετοι θελουσι τρεξει και δεν θελουσιν αποκαμει θελουσι περιπατησει και δεν θελουσιν ατονησει.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
