Isaiah 21

Η κατα της ερημου της θαλασσης ορασις. Καθως οι διαβαινοντες ανεμοστροβιλοι της μεσημβριας, ουτως ερχεται απο της ερημου, απο γης τρομερας.

The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.

Σκληρον οραμα εφανερωθη εις εμε ο καταδυναστευων καταδυναστευει και ο πορθων πορθει. Αναβηθι, Ελαμ πολιορκησον, Μηδια επαυσα πασας τας καταδυναστειας αυτης.

A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.

Δια τουτο η οσφυς μου ειναι πληρης οδυνης πονοι με εκυριευσαν, ως οι πονοι της τικτουσης εκυρτωθην εις την ακροασιν αυτου συνεταραχθην εις την θεαν αυτου.

Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

Η καρδια μου κλονιζεται τρομος με εξεπληξεν η νυξ της ευφροσυνης μου εις φρικην μετεβληθη εν εμοι.

My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.

Ετοιμαζεται η τραπεζα φυλαττουσι σκοπιαν, τρωγουσι, πινουσι σηκωθητε, στραταρχαι, ετοιμασατε ασπιδας.

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

Διοτι ο Κυριος ειπεν ουτω προς εμε Υπαγε, στησον σκοπευτην, δια να αναγγελλη ο, τι βλεπει.

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

Και ειδεν αναβατας δυο ιππεις, αναβατην ονου και αναβατην καμηλου και επροσεξεν επιμελως μετα πολλης προσοχης.

And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:

Και εφωναξεν ως λεων, Ακαταπαυστως, κυριε μου, ισταμαι εν τη σκοπια την ημεραν και φυλαττω πασας τας νυκτας

And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:

και ιδου, ερχονται εδω αναβαται ανδρες δυο ιππεις. Και απεκριθη και ειπεν, Επεσεν, επεσεν η Βαβυλων, και πασαι αι γλυπται εικονες των θεων αυτης συνετριφθησαν κατα γης.

And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

Αλωνισμα μου και σιτε του αλωνιου μου, εφανερωσα εις εσας εκεινο, το οποιον ηκουσα παρα του Κυριου των δυναμεων, του Θεου του Ισραηλ.

O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.

Η κατα Δουμα ορασις. Προς εμε φωναζει απο Σηειρ, Φρουρε, τι περι της νυκτος; φρουρε, τι περι της νυκτος;

The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?

Ο φρουρος ειπε, Το πρωι ηλθεν, ετι και η νυξ αν θελητε να ερωτησητε, ερωτατε επιστρεψατε, ελθετε.

The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come.

Η κατα Αραβιας ορασις. Εν τω δασει της Αραβιας θελετε διανυκτερευσει, συνοδιαι των Δαιδανιτων.

The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim.

Φερετε υδωρ εις συναντησιν του διψωντος, κατοικοι της γης Θαιμαν προυπαντατε με αρτους τον φευγοντα.

The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.

Διοτι φευγουσιν απο προσωπου των ξιφων, απο προσωπου του γεγυμνωμενου ξιφους και απο προσωπου του εντεταμενου τοξου και απο προσωπου της ορμης του πολεμου.

For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.

Διοτι ο Κυριος ειπεν ουτω προς εμε Εντος ενος ετους, ως ειναι τα ετη του μισθωτου, θελει εκλειψει βεβαιως πασα η δοξα της Κηδαρ

For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:

και το υπολοιπον του αριθμου των ισχυρων τοξοτων εκ των υιων του Κηδαρ θελουσιν ελαττωθη διοτι Κυριος ο Θεος του Ισραηλ ελαλησε.

And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it.
