I Chronicles 14

Ο δε Χειραμ βασιλευς της Τυρου απεστειλε πρεσβεις προς τον Δαβιδ, και ξυλα κεδρινα και κτιστας και ξυλουργους, δια να οικοδομησωσιν οικον εις αυτον.

Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

Και εγνωρισεν ο Δαβιδ, οτι ο Κυριος κατεστησεν αυτον βασιλεα επι τον Ισραηλ, διοτι η βασιλεια αυτου υψωθη εις υψος, δια τον λαον αυτου Ισραηλ.

And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

Και ελαβεν ο Δαβιδ ετι γυναικας εν Ιερουσαλημ και εγεννησεν ετι ο Δαβιδ υιους και θυγατερας.

And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.

Ταυτα δε ειναι τα ονοματα των τεκνων, τα οποια εγεννηθησαν εις αυτον εν Ιερουσαλημ Σαμμουα και Σωβαβ, Ναθαν και Σολομων

Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

και Ιεβαρ και Ελισουα και Ελφαλετ

And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

και Νωγα και Νεφεγ και Ιαφια

And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

και Ελισαμα και Βεελιαδα και Ελιφαλετ.

And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

Ακουσαντες δε οι Φιλισταιοι οτι ο Δαβιδ εχρισθη βασιλευς επι παντα τον Ισραηλ, ανεβησαν παντες οι Φιλισταιοι να ζητησωσι τον Δαβιδ. Και ο Δαβιδ ακουσας, εξηλθεν εναντιον αυτων.

And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.

Και ηλθον οι Φιλισταιοι και διεχυθησαν εις την κοιλαδα Ραφαειμ.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Και ηρωτησεν ο Δαβιδ τον Θεον, λεγων, να αναβω εναντιον των Φιλισταιων; και θελεις παραδωσει συ αυτους εις την χειρα μου; Και ο Κυριος απεκριθη προς αυτον, Αναβα διοτι θελω παραδωσει αυτους εις την χειρα σου.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

Και ανεβησαν εις Βααλ−φερασειμ και εκει επαταξεν αυτους ο Δαβιδ. Τοτε ειπεν ο Δαβιδ, Ο Θεος διεκοψε τους εχθρους μου δια χειρος μου, καθως διακοπτονται τα υδατα δια τουτο εκαλεσαν το ονομα του τοπου εκεινου Βααλ−φερασειμ.

So they came up to Baal–perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal–perazim.

Και εκει κατελιπον τους θεους αυτων και ο Δαβιδ προσεταξε και κατεκαυθησαν εν πυρι.

And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

Οι δε Φιλισταιοι και παλιν διεχυθησαν εις την κοιλαδα

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

οθεν παλιν ηρωτησεν ο Δαβιδ τον Θεον και ο Θεος ειπε προς αυτον, Μη αναβης οπισω αυτων αλλα στρεψον απ αυτων και υπαγε επ αυτους απεναντι των συκαμινων.

Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

Και οταν ακουσης θορυβον διαβασεως επι των κορυφων των συκαμινων, τοτε θελεις εξελθει εις την μαχην διοτι ο Θεος θελει εξελθει εμπροσθεν σου, δια να παταξη το στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων.

And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

Και εκαμεν ο Δαβιδ καθως προσεταξεν εις αυτον ο Θεος και επαταξαν το στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων απο Γαβαων εως Γεζερ.

David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

Και το ονομα του Δαβιδ εξηλθεν εις παντας τους τοπους και ο Κυριος επεφερε τον φοβον αυτου επι παντα τα εθνη.

And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.
