Livro da genealogia de Jesus Cristo, filho de Davi, filho de Abraão.

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Abraão gerou a Isaque; Isaque gerou a Jacó; Jacó gerou a Judá e a seus irmãos;

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

Judá gerou de Tamar a Perez e a Zera; Perez gerou a Esrom; Esrom gerou a Arão;

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

Arão gerou a Aminadabe; Aminadabe gerou a Naassom; Naassom gerou a Salmom;

And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

Salmom gerou de Raabe a Boaz; este, de Rute, gerou a Obede; e Obede gerou a Jessé;

And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

Jessé gerou ao rei Davi; e o rei Davi gerou a Salomão, da que fora mulher de Urias;

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

Salomão gerou a Roboão; Roboão gerou a Abias; Abias gerou a Asa;

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

Asa gerou a Josafá; Josafá gerou a Jorão; Jorão gerou a Uzias;

And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

Uzias gerou a Jotão; Jotão gerou a Acaz; Acaz gerou a Ezequias;

And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

Ezequias gerou a Manassés; Manassés gerou a Amom; Amom gerou a Josias;

And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

Josias gerou a Jeconias e a seus irmãos, no tempo em que eles foram levados à Babilônia.

And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

Depois de serem levados à Babilônia, Jeconias gerou a Salatiel; e Salatiel gerou a Zorobabel;

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

Zorobabel gerou a Abiúde; Abiúde gerou a Eliaquim; Eliaquim gerou a Azor;

And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

Azor gerou a Sadoque; Sadoque gerou a Aquim; Aquim gerou a Eliúde;

And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

Eliúde gerou a Eleazar; Eleazar gerou a Matã; Matã gerou a Jacó.

And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

E Jacó gerou a José, marido de Maria, da qual nasceu Jesus, que se chama o Cristo.

And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Assim, todas as gerações, desde Abraão até Davi, são catorze gerações; desde Davi até ao exílio na Babilônia, são catorze gerações; e desde o exílio na Babilônia até Cristo, são catorze gerações.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

Ora, o nascimento de Jesus Cristo foi assim: Estando Maria, sua mãe, desposada com José, antes que tivessem coabitado, achou-se grávida pelo Espírito Santo.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

E José, seu marido, sendo justo e não a querendo infamar, quis deixá-la secretamente.

Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

E, enquanto considerava estas coisas, eis que em sonho lhe apareceu um anjo do Senhor, dizendo: José, filho de Davi, não temas receber Maria, tua mulher, pois o que nela foi gerado é do Espírito Santo;

But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

ela dará à luz um filho, e lhe porás o nome de JESUS; porque ele salvará o seu povo dos pecados deles.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Ora, tudo isso aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que fora falado pelo Senhor, por meio do profeta, dizendo:

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

Eis que a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e chamarão seu nome EMANUEL, que quer dizer: Deus conosco.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Tendo José despertado do sono, fez como o anjo do Senhor lhe ordenara, e recebeu sua mulher;

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

e não a conheceu enquanto ela não deu à luz seu filho primogênito; e lhe pôs o nome de JESUS.

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
