Isaiah 61

Herrens, Israels Guds Ånd er over mig, fordi Herren har salvet mig til å forkynne et godt budskap for de saktmodige; han har sendt mig til å forbinde dem som har et sønderbrutt hjerte, til å utrope frihet for de fangne og løslatelse for de bundne,

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

til å utrope et nådens år fra Herren og en hevnens dag fra vår Gud, til å trøste alle sørgende,

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

til å gi de sørgende i Sion hodepryd i stedet for aske, gledes olje i stedet for sorg, lovprisnings klædebon i stedet for en vansmektet ånd, og de skal kalles rettferdighetens terebinter, Herrens plantning til hans ære.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Og de skal bygge op igjen det som blev ødelagt i eldgammel tid, gjenreise det som har ligget øde fra de første slekter; de skal fornye ødelagte byer, det som har ligget øde fra slekt til slekt.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

Og fremmede skal stå og vokte eders hjorder, og utlendinger skal være eders akerdyrkere og vingårdsmenn.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

Men I, I skal kalles Herrens prester, vår Guds tjenere skal de kalle eder; folkenes gods skal I ete, og deres herlighet skal gå over til eder.

But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

For eders skam skal I få dobbelt gjengjeld, og de som led vanære, skal nu juble over sin lodd; derfor skal de få dobbelt lodd i sitt land, evig glede skal bli dem til del;

For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

for jeg, Herren, elsker rett og hater urettferdig rov, og trofast vil jeg gi dem deres lønn, og en evig pakt vil jeg gjøre med dem.

For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Og deres ætt skal bli kjent blandt folkene, og deres avkom blandt folkeslagene; alle som ser dem, skal kjenne at de er en ætt Herren har velsignet.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

Jeg vil glede mig i Herren, min sjel skal fryde sig i min Gud; for han har klædd mig i frelsens klædebon, i rettferdighetens kappe har han svøpt mig, likesom brudgommen, som setter på sig en hue prektig som prestens, og likesom bruden, som pryder sig med sine smykker.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

For som jorden lar sine spirer skyte frem, og som en have lar sine vekster spire, således skal Herren, Israels Gud, la rettferdighet og lovsang fremspire for alle folkenes åsyn.

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
