E te Atua, whakaritea taku whakawa, whakatikaia aku korero ki te iwi atuakore: whakaorangia ahau i te tangata tinihanga e mahi nei i te he.

Schaffe mir Recht, o Gott, und führe meinen Rechtsstreit wider eine lieblose Nation! Von dem Manne des Trugs und des Unrechts errette mich!

Ko koe hoki te Atua o toku kaha: he aha ahau ka panga nei e koe? He aha ahau ka haere pouri ai i te tukino a te hoariri?

Denn du bist der Gott meiner Stärke. Warum hast du mich verworfen? Warum gehe ich trauernd einher wegen der Bedrückung des Feindes?

Tukua mai tou marama me tou pono hei arahi i ahau: hei kawe i ahau ki tou maunga tapu, ki ou tapenakara.

Sende dein Licht und deine Wahrheit; sie sollen mich leiten, mich bringen zu deinem heiligen Berge und zu deinen Wohnungen.

A ka haere ahau ki te aata a te Atua, ki te Atua, ki toku hari nui: ae, ka whakamoemiti ki a koe, e te Atua, e toku Atua, i runga i te hapa.

So werde ich kommen zum Altar Gottes, zu dem Gott, der meine Jubelfreude ist, und werde dich preisen mit der Laute, Gott, mein Gott!

He aha koe i piko ai, e toku wairua? He aha koe i ohorere ai i roto i ahau? Tumanako ki te Atua: tera ano ahau e whakawhetai ki a ia, ko te ora nei ia o toku mata, ko toku Atua.

Was beugst du dich nieder, meine Seele, und was bist du unruhig in mir? Harre auf Gott! Denn ich werde ihn noch preisen, der das Heil meines Angesichts und mein Gott ist.
