Job 3

Rehefa afaka izany, dia niloa-bava Joba ka nanozona ny androny
After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.
nanao hoe:
And Job spake, and said,
Foàna anie ny andro nahaterahako sy ny alina izay nanao hoe: Misy zazalahy vao torontoronina!
Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
Izany andro izany dia aoka ho maizina, ary aoka tsy hitady azy Andriamanitra any ambony; ary aoka tsy hisy mazava hamirapiratra aminy;
Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.
Aoka ny aizina sy ny aloky ny fahafatesana hahalasa azy indray; Aoka ny rahona hitatao eo amboniny; Aoka izay zavatra mahamaizina ny andro hampahatsiravina azy.
Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.
Izany alina izany aoka ny aizim-pito hisambotra azy; Aoka tsy hiara-mifaly amin'ny andron'ny taona izy. Ary tsy ho tonga amin'ny isan'ny volana;
As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.
Indro izany alina izany aoka ho momba izy; Aoka tsy ho velona ao ny hoby;
Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.
Aoka hanozona azy ny mpanozona andro, Izay mahay mamoha ny dragona;
Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
Aoka ho maizina ny kintan'ny marainany; Aoka hiandry ny mazava izy, nefa tsy hisy, ary aoka tsy ho faly mahita ny hodimason'ny maraina izy,
Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
Satria tsy nanidy ny varavaran'ny kibon'ineny izy ka tsy nanafina fahoriana tamin'ny masoko.
Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.
Nahoana re aho no tsy maty hatrany am-bohoka e, ary tsy niala aina, fony vao nivoaka avy tany an-kibo e?
Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
Nahoana no nisy lohalika niandry ahy? Ary nahoana no nisy nono hinonoako?
Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
Fa raha tsy izany, dia efa nandry aho toy izay ka niadana, eny, natory aho ka afa-tsasatra,
For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,
Teo amin'ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanolo-tsaina avy amin'ny tany, izay nanao ireny tanàna efa rava,
With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;
Na teo amin'ny andriandahy izay manana volamena sady mameno volafotsy ny tranony;
Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:
Na efa tsy ary toy ny zaza tsy tonga volana aho ka nafenina, dia toy ny zaza izay tsy nahita ny mazava akory.
Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.
Any no itsaharan'ny ratsy fanahy tsy hampitebiteby, ary any ny reraka no afa-tsasatra;
There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
Miara-miadana avokoa ny mpifatotra; Tsy mandre ny feon'ny mpampiasa izy.
There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
Samy any ny kely sy ny lehibe, Ary ny mpanompo dia afaka amin'ny tompony.
The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.
Nahoana no fahazavana no mba omena ny reraka, ary fiainana ho an'izay latsaka amin'ny fangidiana?
Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;
Izay miandry fahafatesana, nefa tsy avy izy, sady mitady azy mihoatra noho ny fitady harena nafenina:
Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
Izay faly indrindra sady ravoravo, raha mahita ny fasana,
Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?
Dia olona izay mandeha ao amin'ny maizina sady voafefin'Andriamanitra manodidina.
Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?
Fa mialoha ny haninkaniko ny fitolokoko, ary migororoana toy ny rano ny fidradradradrako;
For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
Fa Izay atahorako no mahazo ahy, ary izay angovitako no manjo ahy.
For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
Tsy mbola nahita fiadanana na fitsaharana na fakàna aina akory aza aho, dia tonga indray ny tebiteby.
I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
