Psalms 53

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

داؤد کا زبور۔ موسیقی کے راہنما کے لئے۔ حکمت کا گیت۔ طرز: محلت۔ احمق دل میں کہتا ہے، ”اللہ ہے ہی نہیں!“ ایسے لوگ بدچلن ہیں، اُن کی حرکتیں قابلِ گھن ہیں۔ ایک بھی نہیں ہے جو اچھا کام کرے۔

God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.

اللہ نے آسمان سے انسان پر نظر ڈالی تاکہ دیکھے کہ کیا کوئی سمجھ دار ہے؟ کیا کوئی اللہ کا طالب ہے؟

Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

افسوس، سب صحیح راہ سے بھٹک گئے، سب کے سب بگڑ گئے ہیں۔ کوئی نہیں جو بھلائی کرتا ہو، ایک بھی نہیں۔

Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

کیا جو بدی کر کے میری قوم کو روٹی کی طرح کھا لیتے ہیں اُنہیں سمجھ نہیں آتی؟ وہ تو اللہ کو پکارتے ہی نہیں۔

There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.

تب اُن پر سخت دہشت وہاں چھا گئی جہاں پہلے دہشت کا سبب نہیں تھا۔ جنہوں نے تجھے گھیر رکھا تھا اللہ نے اُن کی ہڈیاں بکھیر دیں۔ تُو نے اُن کو رُسوا کیا، کیونکہ اللہ نے اُنہیں رد کیا ہے۔

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

کاش کوہِ صیون سے اسرائیل کی نجات نکلے! جب رب اپنی قوم کو بحال کرے گا تو یعقوب خوشی کے نعرے لگائے گا، اسرائیل باغ باغ ہو گا۔
