Psalms 115

115:1

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

اے رب، ہماری ہی عزت کی خاطر کام نہ کر بلکہ اِس لئے کہ تیرے نام کو جلال ملے، اِس لئے کہ تُو مہربان اور وفادار خدا ہے۔

115:2

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

دیگر اقوام کیوں کہیں، ”اُن کا خدا کہاں ہے؟“

115:3

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

ہمارا خدا تو آسمان پر ہے، اور جو جی چاہے کرتا ہے۔

115:4

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

اُن کے بُت سونے چاندی کے ہیں، انسان کے ہاتھ نے اُنہیں بنایا ہے۔

115:5

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

اُن کے منہ ہیں لیکن وہ بول نہیں سکتے۔ اُن کی آنکھیں ہیں لیکن وہ دیکھ نہیں سکتے۔

115:6

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

اُن کے کان ہیں لیکن وہ سن نہیں سکتے، اُن کی ناک ہے لیکن وہ سونگھ نہیں سکتے۔

115:7

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

اُن کے ہاتھ ہیں، لیکن وہ چھو نہیں سکتے۔ اُن کے پاؤں ہیں، لیکن وہ چل نہیں سکتے۔ اُن کے گلے سے آواز نہیں نکلتی۔

115:8

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

جو بُت بناتے ہیں وہ اُن کی مانند ہو جائیں، جو اُن پر بھروسا رکھتے ہیں وہ اُن جیسے بےحس و حرکت ہو جائیں۔

115:9

O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

اے اسرائیل، رب پر بھروسا رکھ! وہی تیرا سہارا اور تیری ڈھال ہے۔
