Psalms 111

Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

رب کی حمد ہو! مَیں پورے دل سے دیانت داروں کی مجلس اور جماعت میں رب کا شکر کروں گا۔

The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

رب کے کام عظیم ہیں۔ جو اُن سے لطف اندوز ہوتے ہیں وہ اُن کا خوب مطالعہ کرتے ہیں۔

His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

اُس کا کام شاندار اور جلالی ہے، اُس کی راستی ابد تک قائم رہتی ہے۔

He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

وہ اپنے معجزے یاد کراتا ہے۔ رب مہربان اور رحیم ہے۔

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

جو اُس کا خوف مانتے ہیں اُنہیں اُس نے خوراک مہیا کی ہے۔ وہ ہمیشہ تک اپنے عہد کا خیال رکھے گا۔

He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

اُس نے اپنی قوم کو اپنے زبردست کاموں کا اعلان کر کے کہا، ”مَیں تمہیں غیرقوموں کی میراث عطا کروں گا۔“

The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

جو بھی کام اُس کے ہاتھ کریں وہ سچے اور راست ہیں۔ اُس کے تمام احکام قابلِ اعتماد ہیں۔

They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

وہ ازل سے ابد تک قائم ہیں، اور اُن پر سچائی اور دیانت داری سے عمل کرنا ہے۔

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

اُس نے اپنی قوم کا فدیہ بھیج کر اُسے چھڑایا ہے۔ اُس نے فرمایا، ”میرا قوم کے ساتھ عہد ابد تک قائم رہے۔“ اُس کا نام قدوس اور پُرجلال ہے۔

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

حکمت اِس سے شروع ہوتی ہے کہ ہم رب کا خوف مانیں۔ جو بھی اُس کے احکام پر عمل کرے اُسے اچھی سمجھ حاصل ہو گی۔ اُس کی حمد ہمیشہ تک قائم رہے گی۔
