Isaiah 39

At that time Merodach–baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

تھوڑی دیر کے بعد بابل کے بادشاہ مرودک بلَدان بن بلَدان نے حِزقیاہ کی بیماری اور شفا کی خبر سن کر وفد کے ہاتھ خط اور تحفے بھیجے۔

And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

حِزقیاہ نے خوشی سے وفد کا استقبال کر کے اُسے وہ تمام خزانے دکھائے جو ذخیرہ خانے میں محفوظ رکھے گئے تھے یعنی تمام سونا چاندی، بلسان کا تیل اور باقی قیمتی تیل۔ اُس نے پورا اسلحہ خانہ اور باقی سب کچھ بھی دکھایا جو اُس کے خزانوں میں تھا۔ پورے محل اور پورے ملک میں کوئی خاص چیز نہ رہی جو اُس نے اُنہیں نہ دکھائی۔

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon.

تب یسعیاہ نبی حِزقیاہ بادشاہ کے پاس آیا اور پوچھا، ”اِن آدمیوں نے کیا کہا؟ کہاں سے آئے ہیں؟“ حِزقیاہ نے جواب دیا، ”دُوردراز ملک بابل سے میرے پاس آئے ہیں۔“

Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

یسعیاہ بولا، ”اُنہوں نے محل میں کیا کچھ دیکھا؟“ حِزقیاہ نے کہا، ”اُنہوں نے محل میں سب کچھ دیکھ لیا ہے۔ میرے خزانوں میں کوئی چیز نہ رہی جو مَیں نے اُنہیں نہیں دکھائی۔“

Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:

تب یسعیاہ نے کہا، ”رب الافواج کا فرمان سنیں!

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.

ایک دن آنے والا ہے کہ تیرے محل کا تمام مال چھین لیا جائے گا۔ جتنے بھی خزانے تُو اور تیرے باپ دادا نے آج تک جمع کئے ہیں اُن سب کو دشمن بابل لے جائے گا۔ رب فرماتا ہے کہ ایک بھی چیز پیچھے نہیں رہے گی۔

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

تیرے بیٹوں میں سے بھی بعض چھین لئے جائیں گے، ایسے جو اب تک پیدا نہیں ہوئے۔ تب وہ خواجہ سرا بن کر شاہِ بابل کے محل میں خدمت کریں گے۔“

Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

حِزقیاہ بولا، ”رب کا جو پیغام آپ نے مجھے دیا ہے وہ ٹھیک ہے۔“ کیونکہ اُس نے سوچا، ”بڑی بات یہ ہے کہ میرے جیتے جی امن و امان ہو گا۔“
