Deuteronomy 28

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

رب تیرا خدا تجھے دنیا کی تمام قوموں پر سرفراز کرے گا۔ شرط یہ ہے کہ تُو اُس کی سنے اور احتیاط سے اُس کے اُن تمام احکام پر عمل کرے جو مَیں تجھے آج دے رہا ہوں۔

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

رب اپنے خدا کا فرماں بردار رہ تو تجھے ہر طرح کی برکت حاصل ہو گی۔

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

رب تجھے شہر اور دیہات میں برکت دے گا۔

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

تیری اولاد پھلے پھولے گی، تیری اچھی خاصی فصلیں پکیں گی، تیرے گائےبَیلوں اور بھیڑبکریوں کے بچے ترقی کریں گے۔

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

تیرا ٹوکرا پھل سے بھرا رہے گا، اور آٹا گوندھنے کا تیرا برتن آٹے سے خالی نہیں ہو گا۔

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

رب تجھے گھر میں آتے اور وہاں سے نکلتے وقت برکت دے گا۔

The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

جب تیرے دشمن تجھ پر حملہ کریں گے تو وہ رب کی مدد سے شکست کھائیں گے۔ گو وہ مل کر تجھ پر حملہ کریں توبھی تُو اُنہیں چاروں طرف منتشر کر دے گا۔

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

اللہ تیرے ہر کام میں برکت دے گا۔ اناج کی کثرت کے سبب سے تیرے گودام بھرے رہیں گے۔ رب تیرا خدا تجھے اُس ملک میں برکت دے گا جو وہ تجھے دینے والا ہے۔

The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

رب اپنی قَسم کے مطابق تجھے اپنی مخصوص و مُقدّس قوم بنائے گا اگر تُو اُس کے احکام پر عمل کرے اور اُس کی راہوں پر چلے۔

And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

پھر دنیا کی تمام قومیں تجھ سے خوف کھائیں گی، کیونکہ وہ دیکھیں گی کہ تُو رب کی قوم ہے اور اُس کے نام سے کہلاتا ہے۔

And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

رب تجھے بہت اولاد دے گا، تیرے ریوڑ بڑھائے گا اور تجھے کثرت کی فصلیں دے گا۔ یوں وہ تجھے اُس ملک میں برکت دے گا جس کا وعدہ اُس نے قَسم کھا کر تیرے باپ دادا سے کیا۔

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

رب آسمان کے خزانوں کو کھول کر وقت پر تیری زمین پر بارش برسائے گا۔ وہ تیرے ہر کام میں برکت دے گا۔ تُو بہت سی قوموں کو اُدھار دے گا لیکن کسی کا بھی قرض دار نہیں ہو گا۔

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

رب تجھے قوموں کی دُم نہیں بلکہ اُن کا سر بنائے گا۔ تُو ترقی کرتا جائے گا اور زوال کا شکار نہیں ہو گا۔ لیکن شرط یہ ہے کہ تُو رب اپنے خدا کے وہ احکام مان کر اُن پر عمل کرے جو مَیں تجھے آج دے رہا ہوں۔

And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

جو کچھ بھی مَیں نے تجھے کرنے کو کہا ہے اُس سے کسی طرح بھی ہٹ کر زندگی نہ گزارنا۔ نہ دیگر معبودوں کی پیروی کرنا، نہ اُن کی خدمت کرنا۔

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

لیکن اگر تُو رب اپنے خدا کی نہ سنے اور اُس کے اُن تمام احکام پر عمل نہ کرے جو مَیں آج تجھے دے رہا ہوں تو ہر طرح کی لعنت تجھ پر آئے گی۔

Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

شہر اور دیہات میں تجھ پر لعنت ہو گی۔

Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

تیرے ٹوکرے اور آٹا گوندھنے کے تیرے برتن پر لعنت ہو گی۔

Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

تیری اولاد پر، تیرے گائےبَیلوں اور بھیڑبکریوں کے بچوں پر اور تیرے کھیتوں پر لعنت ہو گی۔

Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

گھر میں آتے اور وہاں سے نکلتے وقت تجھ پر لعنت ہو گی۔

The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.

اگر تُو غلط کام کر کے رب کو چھوڑے تو جو کچھ بھی تُو کرے وہ تجھ پر لعنتیں، پریشانیاں اور مصیبتیں آنے دے گا۔ تب تیرا جلدی سے ستیاناس ہو گا، اور تُو ہلاک ہو جائے گا۔

The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.

رب تجھ میں وبائی بیماریاں پھیلائے گا جن کے سبب سے تجھ میں سے کوئی اُس ملک میں زندہ نہیں رہے گا جس پر تُو ابھی قبضہ کرنے والا ہے۔

The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

رب تجھے مہلک بیماریوں، بخار اور سوجن سے مارے گا۔ جُھلسانے والی گرمی، کال، پَت روگ اور پھپھوندی تیری فصلیں ختم کرے گی۔ ایسی مصیبتوں کے باعث تُو تباہ ہو جائے گا۔

And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

تیرے اوپر آسمان پیتل جیسا سخت ہو گا جبکہ تیرے نیچے زمین لوہے کی مانند ہو گی۔

The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

بارش کی جگہ رب تیرے ملک پر گرد اور ریت برسائے گا جو آسمان سے تیرے ملک پر چھا کر تجھے برباد کر دے گی۔

The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

جب تُو اپنے دشمنوں کا سامنا کرے تو رب تجھے شکست دلائے گا۔ گو تُو مل کر اُن کی طرف بڑھے گا توبھی اُن سے بھاگ کر چاروں طرف منتشر ہو جائے گا۔ دنیا کے تمام ممالک میں لوگوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو جائیں گے جب وہ تیری مصیبتیں دیکھیں گے۔

And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.

پرندے اور جنگلی جانور تیری لاشوں کو کھا جائیں گے، اور اُنہیں بھگانے والا کوئی نہیں ہو گا۔

The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

رب تجھے اُن ہی پھوڑوں سے مارے گا جو مصریوں کو نکلے تھے۔ ایسے جِلدی امراض پھیلیں گے جن کا علاج نہیں ہے۔

The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

تُو پاگل پن کا شکار ہو جائے گا، رب تجھے اندھا پن اور ذہنی ابتری میں مبتلا کر دے گا۔

And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

دوپہر کے وقت بھی تُو اندھے کی طرح ٹٹول ٹٹول کر پھرے گا۔ جو کچھ بھی تُو کرے اُس میں ناکام رہے گا۔ روز بہ روز لوگ تجھے دباتے اور لُوٹتے رہیں گے، اور تجھے بچانے والا کوئی نہیں ہو گا۔

Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

تیری منگنی کسی عورت سے ہو گی تو کوئی اَور آ کر اُس کی عصمت دری کرے گا۔ تُو اپنے لئے گھر بنائے گا لیکن اُس میں نہیں رہے گا۔ تُو اپنے لئے انگور کا باغ لگائے گا لیکن اُس کا پھل نہیں کھائے گا۔

Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

تیرے دیکھتے دیکھتے تیرا بَیل ذبح کیا جائے گا، لیکن تُو اُس کا گوشت نہیں کھائے گا۔ تیرا گدھا تجھ سے چھین لیا جائے گا اور واپس نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ تیری بھیڑبکریاں دشمن کو دی جائیں گی، اور اُنہیں چھڑانے والا کوئی نہیں ہو گا۔

Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.

تیرے بیٹے بیٹیوں کو کسی دوسری قوم کو دیا جائے گا، اور تُو کچھ نہیں کر سکے گا۔ روز بہ روز تُو اپنے بچوں کے انتظار میں اُفق کو تکتا رہے گا، لیکن دیکھتے دیکھتے تیری آنکھیں دُھندلا جائیں گی۔

The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

ایک اجنبی قوم تیری زمین کی پیداوار اور تیری محنت و مشقت کی کمائی لے جائے گی۔ تجھے عمر بھر ظلم اور دباؤ برداشت کرنا پڑے گا۔

So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

جو ہول ناک باتیں تیری آنکھیں دیکھیں گی اُن سے تُو پاگل ہو جائے گا۔

The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

رب تجھے تکلیف دہ اور لاعلاج پھوڑوں سے مارے گا جو تلوے سے لے کر چاندی تک پورے جسم پر پھیل کر تیرے گھٹنوں اور ٹانگوں کو متاثر کریں گے۔

The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

رب تجھے اور تیرے مقرر کئے ہوئے بادشاہ کو ایک ایسے ملک میں لے جائے گا جس سے نہ تُو اور نہ تیرے باپ دادا واقف تھے۔ وہاں تُو دیگر معبودوں یعنی لکڑی اور پتھر کے بُتوں کی خدمت کرے گا۔

And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

جس جس قوم میں رب تجھے ہانک دے گا وہاں تجھے دیکھ کر لوگوں کے رونگٹے کھڑے ہو جائیں گے اور وہ تیرا مذاق اُڑائیں گے۔ تُو اُن کے لئے عبرت انگیز مثال ہو گا۔

Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

تُو اپنے کھیتوں میں بہت بیج بونے کے باوجود کم ہی فصل کاٹے گا، کیونکہ ٹڈے اُسے کھا جائیں گے۔

Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

تُو انگور کے باغ لگا کر اُن پر خوب محنت کرے گا لیکن نہ اُن کے انگور توڑے گا، نہ اُن کی مَے پیئے گا، کیونکہ کیڑے اُنہیں کھا جائیں گے۔

Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.

گو تیرے پورے ملک میں زیتون کے درخت ہوں گے توبھی تُو اُن کا تیل استعمال نہیں کر سکے گا، کیونکہ زیتون خراب ہو کر زمین پر گر جائیں گے۔

Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

تیرے بیٹے بیٹیاں تو ہوں گے، لیکن تُو اُن سے محروم ہو جائے گا۔ کیونکہ اُنہیں گرفتار کر کے کسی اجنبی ملک میں لے جایا جائے گا۔

All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

ٹڈیوں کے غول تیرے ملک کے تمام درختوں اور فصلوں پر قبضہ کر لیں گے۔

The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

تیرے درمیان رہنے والا پردیسی تجھ سے بڑھ کر ترقی کرتا جائے گا جبکہ تجھ پر زوال آ جائے گا۔

He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

اُس کے پاس تجھے اُدھار دینے کے لئے پیسے ہوں گے جبکہ تیرے پاس اُسے اُدھار دینے کو کچھ نہیں ہو گا۔ آخر میں وہ سر اور تُو دُم ہو گا۔

Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:

یہ تمام لعنتیں تجھ پر آن پڑیں گی۔ جب تک تُو تباہ نہ ہو جائے وہ تیرا تعاقب کرتی رہیں گی، کیونکہ تُو نے رب اپنے خدا کی نہ سنی اور اُس کے احکام پر عمل نہ کیا۔

And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.

یوں یہ ہمیشہ تک تیرے اور تیری اولاد کے لئے ایک معجزانہ اور عبرت انگیز الٰہی نشان رہیں گی۔

Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

چونکہ تُو نے دلی خوشی سے اُس وقت رب اپنے خدا کی خدمت نہ کی جب تیرے پاس سب کچھ تھا

Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

اِس لئے تُو اُن دشمنوں کی خدمت کرے گا جنہیں رب تیرے خلاف بھیجے گا۔ تُو بھوکا، پیاسا، ننگا اور ہر چیز کا حاجت مند ہو گا، اور رب تیری گردن پر لوہے کا جوا رکھ کر تجھے مکمل تباہی تک لے جائے گا۔

The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

رب تیرے خلاف ایک قوم کھڑی کرے گا جو دُور سے بلکہ دنیا کی انتہا سے آ کر عقاب کی طرح تجھ پر جھپٹا مارے گی۔ وہ ایسی زبان بولے گی جس سے تُو واقف نہیں ہو گا۔

A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:

وہ سخت قوم ہو گی جو نہ بزرگوں کا لحاظ کرے گی اور نہ بچوں پر رحم کرے گی۔

And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.

وہ تیرے مویشی اور فصلیں کھا جائے گی اور تُو بھوکوں مر جائے گا۔ تُو ہلاک ہو جائے گا، کیونکہ تیرے لئے کچھ نہیں بچے گا، نہ اناج، نہ مَے، نہ تیل، نہ گائےبَیلوں یا بھیڑبکریوں کے بچے۔

And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.

دشمن تیرے ملک کے تمام شہروں کا محاصرہ کرے گا۔ آخرکار جن اونچی اور مضبوط فصیلوں پر تُو اعتماد کرے گا وہ بھی سب گر پڑیں گی۔ دشمن اُس ملک کا کوئی بھی شہر نہیں چھوڑے گا جو رب تیرا خدا تجھے دینے والا ہے۔

And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

جب دشمن تیرے شہروں کا محاصرہ کرے گا تو تُو اُن میں اِتنا شدید بھوکا ہو جائے گا کہ اپنے بچوں کو کھا لے گا جو رب تیرے خدا نے تجھے دیئے ہیں۔

So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

محاصرے کے دوران تم میں سے سب سے شریف اور شائستہ آدمی بھی اپنے بچے کو ذبح کر کے کھائے گا، کیونکہ اُس کے پاس کوئی اَور خوراک نہیں ہو گی۔ اُس کی حالت اِتنی بُری ہو گی کہ وہ اُسے اپنے سگے بھائی، بیوی یا باقی بچوں کے ساتھ تقسیم کرنے کے لئے تیار نہیں ہو گا۔

So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

محاصرے کے دوران تم میں سے سب سے شریف اور شائستہ آدمی بھی اپنے بچے کو ذبح کر کے کھائے گا، کیونکہ اُس کے پاس کوئی اَور خوراک نہیں ہو گی۔ اُس کی حالت اِتنی بُری ہو گی کہ وہ اُسے اپنے سگے بھائی، بیوی یا باقی بچوں کے ساتھ تقسیم کرنے کے لئے تیار نہیں ہو گا۔

The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

تم میں سے سب سے شریف اور شائستہ عورت بھی ایسا ہی کرے گی، اگرچہ پہلے وہ اِتنی نازک تھی کہ فرش کو اپنے تلوے سے چھونے کی جرٲت نہیں کرتی تھی۔ محاصرے کے دوران اُسے اِتنی شدید بھوک ہو گی کہ جب اُس کے بچہ پیدا ہو گا تو وہ چھپ چھپ کر اُسے کھائے گی۔ نہ صرف یہ بلکہ وہ پیدائش کے وقت بچے کے ساتھ خارج ہوئی آلائش بھی کھائے گی اور اُسے اپنے شوہر یا اپنے باقی بچوں میں بانٹنے کے لئے تیار نہیں ہو گی۔ اِتنی مصیبت تجھ پر محاصرے کے دوران آئے گی۔

And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

تم میں سے سب سے شریف اور شائستہ عورت بھی ایسا ہی کرے گی، اگرچہ پہلے وہ اِتنی نازک تھی کہ فرش کو اپنے تلوے سے چھونے کی جرٲت نہیں کرتی تھی۔ محاصرے کے دوران اُسے اِتنی شدید بھوک ہو گی کہ جب اُس کے بچہ پیدا ہو گا تو وہ چھپ چھپ کر اُسے کھائے گی۔ نہ صرف یہ بلکہ وہ پیدائش کے وقت بچے کے ساتھ خارج ہوئی آلائش بھی کھائے گی اور اُسے اپنے شوہر یا اپنے باقی بچوں میں بانٹنے کے لئے تیار نہیں ہو گی۔ اِتنی مصیبت تجھ پر محاصرے کے دوران آئے گی۔

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

غرض احتیاط سے شریعت کی اُن تمام باتوں کی پیروی کر جو اِس کتاب میں درج ہیں، اور رب اپنے خدا کے پُرجلال اور بارُعب نام کا خوف ماننا۔

Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

ورنہ وہ تجھ اور تیری اولاد میں سخت اور لاعلاج امراض اور ایسی دہشت ناک وبائیں پھیلائے گا جو روکی نہیں جا سکیں گی۔

Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

جن تمام وباؤں سے تُو مصر میں دہشت کھاتا تھا وہ اب تیرے درمیان پھیل کر تیرے ساتھ چمٹی رہیں گی۔

Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

نہ صرف شریعت کی اِس کتاب میں بیان کی ہوئی بیماریاں اور مصیبتیں تجھ پر آئیں گی بلکہ رب اَور بھی تجھ پر بھیجے گا، جب تک کہ تُو ہلاک نہ ہو جائے۔

And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.

اگر تُو رب اپنے خدا کی نہ سنے تو آخرکار تم میں سے بہت کم بچے رہیں گے، گو تم پہلے ستاروں جیسے بےشمار تھے۔

And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.

جس طرح پہلے رب خوشی سے تمہیں کامیابی دیتا اور تمہاری تعداد بڑھاتا تھا اُسی طرح اب وہ تمہیں برباد اور تباہ کرنے میں خوشی محسوس کرے گا۔ تمہیں زبردستی اُس ملک سے نکالا جائے گا جس پر تُو اِس وقت داخل ہو کر قبضہ کرنے والا ہے۔

And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

تب رب تجھے دنیا کے ایک سرے سے لے کر دوسرے سرے تک تمام قوموں میں منتشر کر دے گا۔ وہاں تُو دیگر معبودوں کی پوجا کرے گا، ایسے دیوتاؤں کی جن سے نہ تُو اور نہ تیرے باپ دادا واقف تھے۔

And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

اُن ممالک میں بھی نہ تُو آرام و سکون پائے گا، نہ تیرے پاؤں جم جائیں گے۔ رب ہونے دے گا کہ تیرا دل تھرتھراتا رہے گا، تیری آنکھیں پریشانی کے باعث دُھندلا جائیں گی اور تیری جان سے اُمید کی ہر کرن جاتی رہے گی۔

And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

تیری جان ہر وقت خطرے میں ہو گی اور تُو دن رات دہشت کھاتے ہوئے مرنے کی توقع کرے گا۔

In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

صبح اُٹھ کر تُو کہے گا، ”کاش شام ہو!“ اور شام کے وقت، ”کاش صبح ہو!“ کیونکہ جو کچھ تُو دیکھے گا اُس سے تیرے دل کو دہشت گھیر لے گی۔

And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

رب تجھے جہازوں میں بٹھا کر مصر واپس لے جائے گا اگرچہ مَیں نے کہا تھا کہ تُو اُسے دوبارہ کبھی نہیں دیکھے گا۔ وہاں پہنچ کر تم اپنے دشمنوں سے بات کر کے اپنے آپ کو غلام کے طور پر بیچنے کی کوشش کرو گے، لیکن کوئی بھی تمہیں خریدنا نہیں چاہے گا۔“
