II Samuel 13

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

داؤد کے بیٹے ابی سلوم کی خوب صورت بہن تھی جس کا نام تمر تھا۔ اُس کا سوتیلا بھائی امنون تمر سے شدید محبت کرنے لگا۔

And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.

وہ تمر کو اِتنی شدت سے چاہنے لگا کہ رنجش کے باعث بیمار ہو گیا، کیونکہ تمر کنواری تھی، اور امنون کو اُس کے قریب آنے کا کوئی راستہ نظر نہ آیا۔

But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.

امنون کا ایک دوست تھا جس کا نام یوندب تھا۔ وہ داؤد کے بھائی سِمعہ کا بیٹا تھا اور بڑا ذہین تھا۔

And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king's son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom's sister.

اُس نے امنون سے پوچھا، ”بادشاہ کے بیٹے، کیا مسئلہ ہے؟ روز بہ روز آپ زیادہ بجھے ہوئے نظر آ رہے ہیں۔ کیا آپ مجھے نہیں بتائیں گے کہ بات کیا ہے؟“ امنون بولا، ”مَیں ابی سلوم کی بہن تمر سے شدید محبت کرتا ہوں۔“

And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.

یوندب نے اپنے دوست کو مشورہ دیا، ”بستر پر لیٹ جائیں اور ایسا ظاہر کریں گویا بیمار ہیں۔ جب آپ کے والد آپ کا حال پوچھنے آئیں گے تو اُن سے درخواست کرنا، ’میری بہن تمر آ کر مجھے مریضوں کا کھانا کھلائے۔ وہ میرے سامنے کھانا تیار کرے تاکہ مَیں اُسے دیکھ کر اُس کے ہاتھ سے کھانا کھاؤں‘۔“

So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.

چنانچہ امنون نے بستر پر لیٹ کر بیمار ہونے کا بہانہ کیا۔ جب بادشاہ اُس کا حال پوچھنے آیا تو امنون نے گزارش کی، ”میری بہن تمر میرے پاس آئے اور میرے سامنے مریضوں کا کھانا بنا کر مجھے اپنے ہاتھ سے کھلائے۔“

Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon's house, and dress him meat.

داؤد نے تمر کو اطلاع دی، ”آپ کا بھائی امنون بیمار ہے۔ اُس کے پاس جا کر اُس کے لئے مریضوں کا کھانا تیار کریں۔“

So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.

تمر نے امنون کے پاس آ کر اُس کی موجودگی میں میدہ گوندھا اور کھانا تیار کر کے پکایا۔ امنون بستر پر لیٹا اُسے دیکھتا رہا۔

And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.

جب کھانا پک گیا تو تمر نے اُسے امنون کے پاس لا کر پیش کیا۔ لیکن اُس نے کھانے سے انکار کر دیا۔ اُس نے حکم دیا، ”تمام نوکر کمرے سے باہر نکل جائیں!“ جب سب چلے گئے

And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

تو اُس نے تمر سے کہا، ”کھانے کو میرے سونے کے کمرے میں لے آئیں تاکہ مَیں آپ کے ہاتھ سے کھا سکوں۔“ تمر کھانے کو لے کر سونے کے کمرے میں اپنے بھائی کے پاس آئی۔

And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.

جب وہ اُسے کھانا کھلانے لگی تو امنون نے اُسے پکڑ کر کہا، ”آ میری بہن، میرے ساتھ ہم بستر ہو!“

And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.

وہ پکاری، ”نہیں، میرے بھائی! میری عصمت دری نہ کریں۔ ایسا عمل اسرائیل میں منع ہے۔ ایسی بےدین حرکت مت کرنا!

And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.

اور ایسی بےحرمتی کے بعد مَیں کہاں جاؤں؟ جہاں تک آپ کا تعلق ہے اسرائیل میں آپ کی بُری طرح بدنامی ہو جائے گی، اور سب سمجھیں گے کہ آپ نہایت شریر آدمی ہیں۔ آپ بادشاہ سے بات کیوں نہیں کرتے؟ یقیناً وہ آپ کو مجھ سے شادی کرنے سے نہیں روکیں گے۔“

Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.

لیکن امنون نے اُس کی نہ سنی بلکہ اُسے پکڑ کر اُس کی عصمت دری کی۔

Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.

لیکن پھر اچانک اُس کی محبت سخت نفرت میں بدل گئی۔ پہلے تو وہ تمر سے شدید محبت کرتا تھا، لیکن اب وہ اِس سے بڑھ کر اُس سے نفرت کرنے لگا۔ اُس نے حکم دیا، ”اُٹھ، دفع ہو جا!“

And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.

تمر نے التماس کی، ”ہائے، ایسا مت کرنا۔ اگر آپ مجھے نکالیں گے تو یہ پہلے گناہ سے زیادہ سنگین جرم ہو گا۔“ لیکن امنون اُس کی سننے کے لئے تیار نہ تھا۔

Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.

اُس نے اپنے نوکر کو بُلا کر حکم دیا، ”اِس عورت کو یہاں سے نکال دو اور اِس کے پیچھے دروازہ بند کر کے کنڈی لگاؤ!“

And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king's daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.

نوکر تمر کو باہر لے گیا اور پھر اُس کے پیچھے دروازہ بند کر کے کنڈی لگا دی۔ تمر ایک لمبے بازوؤں والا فراک پہنے ہوئے تھی۔ بادشاہ کی تمام کنواری بیٹیاں یہی لباس پہنا کرتی تھیں۔

And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

بڑی رنجش کے عالم میں اُس نے اپنا یہ لباس پھاڑ کر اپنے سر پر راکھ ڈال لی۔ پھر اپنا ہاتھ سر پر رکھ کر وہ چیختی چلّاتی وہاں سے چلی گئی۔

And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house.

جب گھر پہنچ گئی تو ابی سلوم نے اُس سے پوچھا، ”میری بہن، کیا امنون نے آپ سے زیادتی کی ہے؟ اب خاموش ہو جائیں۔ وہ تو آپ کا بھائی ہے۔ اِس معاملے کو حد سے زیادہ اہمیت مت دینا۔“ اُس وقت سے تمر اکیلی ہی اپنے بھائی ابی سلوم کے گھر میں رہی۔

But when king David heard of all these things, he was very wroth.

جب داؤد کو اِس واقعے کی خبر ملی تو اُسے سخت غصہ آیا۔

And Absalom spake unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.

ابی سلوم نے امنون سے ایک بھی بات نہ کی۔ نہ اُس نے اُس پر کوئی الزام لگایا، نہ کوئی اچھی بات کی، کیونکہ تمر کی عصمت دری کی وجہ سے وہ اپنے بھائی سے سخت نفرت کرنے لگا تھا۔

And it came to pass after two full years, that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal–hazor, which is beside Ephraim: and Absalom invited all the king's sons.

دو سال گزر گئے۔ ابی سلوم کی بھیڑیں افرائیم کے قریب کے بعل حصور میں لائی گئیں تاکہ اُن کے بال کترے جائیں۔ اِس موقع پر ابی سلوم نے بادشاہ کے تمام بیٹوں کو دعوت دی کہ وہ وہاں ضیافت میں شریک ہوں۔

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

وہ داؤد بادشاہ کے پاس بھی گیا اور کہا، ”اِن دنوں میں مَیں اپنی بھیڑوں کے بال کترا رہا ہوں۔ بادشاہ اور اُن کے افسروں کو بھی میرے ساتھ خوشی منانے کی دعوت ہے۔“

And the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.

لیکن داؤد نے انکار کیا، ”نہیں، میرے بیٹے، ہم سب تو نہیں آ سکتے۔ اِتنے لوگ آپ کے لئے بوجھ کا باعث بن جائیں گے۔“ ابی سلوم بہت اصرار کرتا رہا، لیکن داؤد نے دعوت کو قبول نہ کیا بلکہ اُسے برکت دے کر رُخصت کرنا چاہتا تھا۔

Then said Absalom, If not, I pray thee, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee?

آخرکار ابی سلوم نے درخواست کی، ”اگر آپ ہمارے ساتھ جا نہ سکیں تو پھر کم از کم میرے بھائی امنون کو آنے دیں۔“ بادشاہ نے پوچھا، ”خاص کر امنون کو کیوں؟“

But Absalom pressed him, that he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.

لیکن ابی سلوم اِتنا زور دیتا رہا کہ داؤد نے امنون کو باقی بیٹوں سمیت بعل حصور جانے کی اجازت دے دی۔

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.

ضیافت سے پہلے ابی سلوم نے اپنے ملازموں کو حکم دیا، ”سنیں! جب امنون مَے پی پی کر خوش ہو جائے گا تو مَیں آپ کو امنون کو مارنے کا حکم دوں گا۔ پھر آپ کو اُسے مار ڈالنا ہے۔ ڈریں مت، کیونکہ مَیں ہی نے آپ کو یہ حکم دیا ہے۔ مضبوط اور دلیر ہوں!“

And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled.

ملازموں نے ایسا ہی کیا۔ اُنہوں نے امنون کو مار ڈالا۔ یہ دیکھ کر بادشاہ کے دوسرے بیٹے اُٹھ کر اپنے خچروں پر سوار ہوئے اور بھاگ گئے۔

And it came to pass, while they were in the way, that tidings came to David, saying, Absalom hath slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of them left.

وہ ابھی راستے میں ہی تھے کہ افواہ داؤد تک پہنچی، ”ابی سلوم نے آپ کے تمام بیٹوں کو قتل کر دیا ہے۔ ایک بھی نہیں بچا۔“

Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

بادشاہ اُٹھا اور اپنے کپڑے پھاڑ کر فرش پر لیٹ گیا۔ اُس کے درباری بھی دُکھ میں اپنے کپڑے پھاڑ پھاڑ کر اُس کے پاس کھڑے رہے۔

And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David's brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

پھر داؤد کا بھتیجا یوندب بول اُٹھا، ”میرے آقا، آپ نہ سوچیں کہ اُنہوں نے تمام شہزادوں کو مار ڈالا ہے۔ صرف امنون مر گیا ہو گا، کیونکہ جب سے اُس نے تمر کی عصمت دری کی اُس وقت سے ابی سلوم کا یہی ارادہ تھا۔

Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king's sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead.

لہٰذا اِس خبر کو اِتنی اہمیت نہ دیں کہ تمام بیٹے ہلاک ہوئے ہیں۔ صرف امنون مر گیا ہو گا۔“

But Absalom fled. And the young man that kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came much people by the way of the hill side behind him.

اِتنے میں ابی سلوم فرار ہو گیا تھا۔ پھر یروشلم کی فصیل پر کھڑے پہرے دار نے اچانک دیکھا کہ مغرب سے لوگوں کا بڑا گروہ شہر کی طرف بڑھ رہا ہے۔ وہ پہاڑی کے دامن میں چلے آ رہے تھے۔

And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold, the king's sons come: as thy servant said, so it is.

تب یوندب نے بادشاہ سے کہا، ”لو، بادشاہ کے بیٹے آ رہے ہیں، جس طرح آپ کے خادم نے کہا تھا۔“

And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of speaking, that, behold, the king's sons came, and lifted up their voice and wept: and the king also and all his servants wept very sore.

وہ ابھی اپنی بات ختم کر ہی رہا تھا کہ شہزادے اندر آئے اور خوب رو پڑے۔ بادشاہ اور اُس کے افسر بھی رونے لگے۔

But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.

داؤد بڑی دیر تک امنون کا ماتم کرتا رہا۔ لیکن ابی سلوم نے فرار ہو کر جسور کے بادشاہ تلمی بن عمی ہود کے پاس پناہ لی جو اُس کا نانا تھا۔

So Absalom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there three years.

وہاں وہ تین سال تک رہا۔

And the soul of king David longed to go forth unto Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, seeing he was dead.

پھر ایک وقت آ گیا کہ داؤد کا امنون کے لئے دُکھ دُور ہو گیا، اور اُس کا ابی سلوم پر غصہ تھم گیا۔
