Nahum 3

Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;

Ουαι εις την πολιν των αιματων ολη ειναι πληρης ψευδους και αρπαγης το θηραμα δεν απολειπει.

The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.

Φωνη μαστιγων ακουεται και φωνη θορυβου τροχων και ιππων ορμωντων και αρματων αναπηδωντων,

The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

ιππεως αναβαινοντος και �ομφαιας στιλβουσης και λογχης εξαστραπτουσης, και πληθος τραυματιζομενων και μεγας αριθμος πτωματων, και δεν ειναι τελος των πτωματων προσκοπτουσιν εις τα πτωματα αυτων

Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

απο του πληθους των πορνειων της θελκτικης πορνης, της εμπειρου εις γοητειας, ητις πωλει εθνη δια των πορνειων αυτης και φυλας δια των γοητειων αυτης.

Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

Ιδου, εγω ειμαι εναντιον σου, λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων και θελω ανασηκωσει τα κρασπεδα σου επι το προσωπον σου, και θελω δειξει εις τα εθνη την αισχυνην σου και εις τα βασιλεια την ατιμιαν σου.

And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

Και θελω �ιψει βδελυραν ακαθαρσιαν επι σε και θελω σε καταισχυνει και θελω σε καταστησει εις θεαμα.

And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

Και παντες οι βλεποντες σε θελουσι φευγει απο σου και θελουσι λεγει, Η Νινευη ηρημωθη τις θελει συλλυπηθη αυτην; ποθεν θελω ζητησει παρηγορητας δια σε;

Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?

εισαι καλητερα της Νω Αμμων, της κειμενης μεταξυ των ποταμων, της περικυκλουμενης απο υδατων, της οποιας προμαχων ητο η θαλασσα και τειχος αυτης το πελαγος;

Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.

Η Αιθιοπια ητο η ισχυς αυτης και η Αιγυπτος και αλλοι απεραντοι η Φουθ και οι Λιβυες ησαν οι βοηθοι σου.

Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

Αλλα και αυτη μετωκισθη, υπηγεν εις αιχμαλωσιαν, τα δε νηπια αυτης συνετριφθησαν επι των ακρων πασων των οδων και ερριψαν κληρους επι τους ενδοξους αυτης ανδρας, και παντες οι μεγιστανες αυτης εδεθησαν με αλυσεις.

Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

Και συ θελεις μεθυσθη, θελεις μενει αφανης και συ θελεις ζητησει δυναμιν εναντιον του εχθρου.

All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

Παντα τα οχυρωματα σου θελουσιν εισθαι ως συκαι με τα πρωτοφανη συκα αυτων εαν σεισθωσι, θελουσι βεβαιως πεσει εις το στομα του τρωγοντος.

Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

Ιδου, ο λαος σου ειναι γυναικες εν μεσω σου αι πυλαι της γης σου θελουσιν εισθαι ολως ανεωγμεναι εις τους εχθρους σου το πυρ θελει καταφαγει τους μοχλους σου.

Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

Ανασυρον εις σεαυτον υδωρ δια την πολιορκιαν, ενδυναμωσον τα οχυρωματα σου εισελθε εις τον πηλον και πατησον την αργιλλον, επισκευασον την κεραμικην καμινον

There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

εκει θελει σε καταφαγει το πυρ η �ομφαια θελει σε εξολοθρευσει, θελει σε καταφαγει ως βρουχος πληθυνου ως βρουχος, πληθυνου ως ακρις.

Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.

Επληθυνας τους εμπορους σου υπερ τα αστρα του ουρανου ο βρουχος εξηπλωθη και εξεπεταξεν.

Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

Οι μεγιστανες σου ειναι ως ακριδες και οι σατραπαι σου ως μεγαλαι ακριδες, αιτινες επικαθηνται επι τους φραγμους εν ημερα ψυχους αλλ οταν ο ηλιος ανατειλη, φευγουσι και ο τοπος αυτων δεν γνωριζεται που ησαν.

Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

Οι ποιμενες σου ενυσταξαν, βασιλευ της Ασσυριας οι δυνατοι σου απεκοιμηθησαν ο λαος σου εσκορπισθη επι τα ορη και δεν υπαρχει ο συναγων.

There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

Δεν ειναι ιασις εις το συντριμμα σου η πληγη σου ειναι χαλεπη παντες οι ακουοντες την αγγελιαν σου θελουσι κροτησει χειρας επι σε διοτι επι τινα δεν επηλθε παντοτε η κακια σου;
