Mark 1

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Αρχη του ευαγγελιου του Ιησου Χριστου, Υιου του Θεου.

As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Καθως ειναι γεγραμμενον εν τοις προφηταις Ιδου, εγω αποστελλω τον αγγελον μου προ προσωπου σου, οστις θελει κατασκευασει την οδον σου εμπροσθεν σου

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Φωνη βοωντος εν τη ερημω, ετοιμασατε την οδον του Κυριου, ευθειας καμετε τας τριβους αυτου.

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Ητο ο Ιωαννης βαπτιζων εν τη ερημω και κηρυττων βαπτισμα μετανοιας εις αφεσιν αμαρτιων.

And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

Και εξηρχοντο προς αυτον ολος ο τοπος της Ιουδαιας και οι Ιεροσολυμιται, και εβαπτιζοντο παντες εν τω Ιορδανη ποταμω υπ αυτου, εξομολογουμενοι τας αμαρτιας αυτων.

And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey;

Ητο δε ο Ιωαννης ενδεδυμενος τριχας καμηλου και εχων ζωνην δερματινην περι την οσφυν αυτου, και τρωγων ακριδας και μελι αγριον.

And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

Και εκηρυττε, λεγων Ερχεται ο ισχυροτερος μου οπισω μου, του οποιου δεν ειμαι αξιος σκυψας να λυσω το λωριον των υποδηματων αυτου.

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Εγω μεν σας εβαπτισα εν υδατι, αυτος δε θελει σας βαπτισει εν Πνευματι Αγιω.

And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.

Και εν εκειναις ταις ημεραις ηλθεν ο Ιησους απο Ναζαρετ της Γαλιλαιας και εβαπτισθη υπο Ιωαννου εις τον Ιορδανην.

And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

Και ευθυς ενω ανεβαινεν απο του υδατος, ειδε τους ουρανους σχιζομενους και το Πνευμα καταβαινον ως περιστεραν επ αυτον

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

και φωνη εγεινεν εκ των ουρανων Συ εισαι ο Υιος μου ο αγαπητος, εις τον οποιον ευηρεστηθην.

And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

Και ευθυς το Πνευμα εκβαλλει αυτον εις την ερημον

And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

και ητο εκει εν τη ερημω ημερας τεσσαρακοντα πειραζομενος υπο του Σατανα, και ητο μετα των θηριων, και οι αγγελοι υπηρετουν αυτον.

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Αφου δε παρεδοθη ο Ιωαννης, ηλθεν ο Ιησους εις την Γαλιλαιαν κηρυττων το ευαγγελιον της βασιλειας του Θεου

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

και λεγων οτι επληρωθη ο καιρος και επλησιασεν η βασιλεια του Θεου μετανοειτε και πιστευετε εις το ευαγγελιον.

Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

Περιπατων δε παρα την θαλασσαν της Γαλιλαιας, ειδε τον Σιμωνα και Ανδρεαν τον αδελφον αυτου, ριπτοντας δικτυον εις την θαλασσαν διοτι ησαν αλιεις

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

και ειπε προς αυτους ο Ιησους Ελθετε οπισω μου, και θελω σας καμει να γεινητε αλιεις ανθρωπων.

And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

Και ευθυς αφησαντες τα δικτυα αυτων, ηκολουθησαν αυτον.

And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

Και προχωρησας εκειθεν ολιγον, ειδεν Ιακωβον τον του Ζεβεδαιου και Ιωαννην τον αδελφον αυτου, και αυτους εν τω πλοιω επισκευαζοντας τα δικτυα,

And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

και ευθυς εκαλεσεν αυτους. Και αφησαντες τον πατερα αυτων Ζεβεδαιον εν τω πλοιω μετα των μισθωτων, υπηγον οπισω αυτου.

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.

Και εισερχονται εις Καπερναουμ και ευθυς εν τω σαββατω εισελθων ο Ιησους εις την συναγωγην εδιδασκε.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

Και εξεπληττοντο δια την διδαχην αυτου διοτι εδιδασκεν αυτους ως εχων εξουσιαν, και ουχι ως οι γραμματεις.

And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

Και ητο εν τη συναγωγη αυτων ανθρωπος εχων πνευμα ακαθαρτον, και ανεκραξε,

Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

λεγων Φευ, τι ειναι μεταξυ ημων και σου, Ιησου Ναζαρηνε; ηλθες να μας απολεσης; σε γνωριζω τις εισαι, ο Αγιος του Θεου.

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

Και επετιμησεν αυτο ο Ιησους, λεγων Σιωπα και εξελθε εξ αυτου.

And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

Και το πνευμα το ακαθαρτον, αφου εσπαραξεν αυτον και εκραξε μετα φωνης μεγαλης, εξηλθεν εξ αυτου.

And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

Και παντες εξεπλαγησαν, ωστε συνεζητουν προς αλληλους, λεγοντες Τι ειναι τουτο; τις αυτη η νεα διδαχη, διοτι μετα εξουσιας προσταζει και τα ακαθαρτα πνευματα, και υπακουουσιν εις αυτον;

And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

Εξηλθε δε η φημη αυτου ευθυς εις ολην την περιχωρον της Γαλιλαιας.

And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

Και ευθυς εξελθοντες εκ της συναγωγης, ηλθον εις την οικιαν Σιμωνος και Ανδρεου μετα του Ιακωβου και Ιωαννου.

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

Η δε πενθερα του Σιμωνος ητο κατακοιτος πασχουσα πυρετον. Και ευθυς ελαλησαν προς αυτον περι αυτης.

And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Και πλησιασας ηγειρεν αυτην πιασας την χειρα αυτης, και αφηκεν αυτην ο πυρετος ευθυς, και υπηρετει αυτους.

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

Αφου δε εγεινεν εσπερα, οτε εδυσεν ο ηλιος, εφεραν προς αυτον παντας τους πασχοντας και τους δαιμονιζομενους

And all the city was gathered together at the door.

και η πολις ολη ητο συνηγμενη εμπροσθεν της θυρας

And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

και εθεραπευσε πολλους πασχοντας διαφορους αρρωστιας, και δαιμονια πολλα εξεβαλε, και δεν αφινε τα δαιμονια να λαλωσιν, επειδη εγνωριζον αυτον.

And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Και το πρωι ενω ητο ορθρος βαθυς, σηκωθεις εξηλθε και υπηγεν εις ερημον τοπον και εκει προσηυχετο.

And Simon and they that were with him followed after him.

Και εδραμον κατοπιν αυτου ο Σιμων και οι μετ αυτου,

And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.

και ευροντες αυτον λεγουσι προς αυτον οτι παντες σε ζητουσι.

And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

Και λεγει προς αυτους Ας υπαγωμεν εις τας πλησιον κωμοπολεις, δια να κηρυξω και εκει επειδη δια τουτο εξηλθον.

And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

Και εκηρυττεν εν ταις συναγωγαις αυτων εις ολην την Γαλιλαιαν και εξεβαλλε τα δαιμονια.

And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Και ερχεται προς αυτον λεπρος παρακαλων αυτον και γονυπετων εμπροσθεν αυτου και λεγων προς αυτον οτι, εαν θελης, δυνασαι να με καθαρισης.

And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

Ο δε Ιησους σπλαγχνισθεις, εξετεινε την χειρα και ηγγισεν αυτον και λεγει προς αυτον Θελω, καθαρισθητι.

And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

Και ως ειπε τουτο, ευθυς εφυγεν απ αυτου η λεπρα, και εκαθαρισθη.

And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;

Και προσταξας αυτον εντονως, ευθυς απεπεμψεν αυτον

And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

και λεγει προς αυτον Προσεχε μη ειπης προς μηδενα μηδεν, αλλ υπαγε, δειξον σεαυτον εις τον ιερεα και προσφερε περι του καθαρισμου σου οσα προσεταξεν ο Μωυσης δια μαρτυριαν εις αυτους.

But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

Αλλ εκεινος εξελθων ηρχισε να κηρυττη πολλα και να διαφημιζη τον λογον, ωστε πλεον δεν ηδυνατο αυτος να εισελθη φανερα εις πολιν, αλλ ητο εξω εν ερημοις τοποις και ηρχοντο προς αυτον πανταχοθεν.
