Job 22

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,

Και απεκριθη Ελιφας ο Θαιμανιτης και ειπε

Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

Δυναται ανθρωπος να ωφεληση τον Θεον, διοτι φρονιμος ων δυναται να ωφελη εαυτον;

Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?

Ειναι ευχαριστησις εις τον Παντοδυναμον, εαν ησαι δικαιος; η κερδος, εαν καθιστας αμεμπτους τας οδους σου;

Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?

Μηπως φοβουμενος σε θελει σε ελεγξει και θελει ελθει εις κρισιν μετα σου;

Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?

Η κακια σου δεν ειναι μεγαλη; και αι ανομιαι σου απειροι;

For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

Διοτι ελαβες ενεχυρον παρα του αδελφου σου αναιτιως και εστερησας τους γυμνους απο του ενδυματος αυτων.

Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.

Δεν εποτισας υδωρ τον διψωντα, και ηρνηθης αρτον εις τον πεινωντα.

But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.

Ο δε ισχυρος ανθρωπος απελαμβανε την γην και ο περιβλεπτος κατωκει εν αυτη.

Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

Χηρας απεβαλες αβοηθητους, και οι βραχιονες των ορφανων συνετριβησαν υπο σου.

Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;

Δια τουτο παγιδες σε περιεκυκλωσαν, και φοβος αιφνιδιος σε ταραττει

Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

και σκοτος, ωστε δεν βλεπεις και πλημμυρα υδατων σε σκεπαζει.

Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

Δεν ειναι ο Θεος εν τοις υψηλοις του ουρανου; και θεωρησον το υψος των αστρων, ποσον υψηλα ειναι

And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?

Και συ λεγεις, Τι γνωριζει ο Θεος; δυναται να κρινη δια του γνοφου;

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.

Νεφη αποκρυπτουσιν αυτον, και δεν βλεπει, και τον γυρον του ουρανου διαπορευεται.

Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?

Μηπως θελεις φυλαξει την παντοτεινην οδον, την οποιαν επατησαν οι ανομοι;

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

Οιτινες αφηρπασθησαν αωρως, και το θεμελιον αυτων κατεποντισε χειμαρρος

Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?

οιτινες ειπον προς τον Θεον, αποστηθι αφ ημων και τι θελει καμει ο Παντοδυναμος εις αυτους;

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

Αλλ αυτος ενεπλησεν αγαθων τους οικους αυτων πλην μακραν απ εμου η βουλη των ασεβων.

The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.

Οι δικαιοι βλεπουσι και αγαλλονται και οι αθωοι μυκτηριζουσιν αυτους.

Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.

Η μεν περιουσια ημων δεν ηφανισθη, το υπολοιπον ομως αυτων κατατρωγει πυρ.

Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.

Οικειωθητι λοιπον μετ αυτου και εσο εν ειρηνη ουτω θελει ελθει καλον εις σε.

Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.

Δεχθητι λοιπον τον νομον εκ του στοματος αυτου, και βαλε τους λογους αυτου εν τη καρδια σου.

If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.

Εαν επιστρεψης προς τον Παντοδυναμου, θελεις ανοικοδομηθη, εκδιωξας την ανομιαν μακραν απο των σκηνων σου.

Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.

Και θελεις επισωρευσει το χρυσιον ως χωμα και το χρυσιον του Οφειρ ως τας πετρας των χειμαρρων.

Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.

Και ο Παντοδυναμος θελει εισθαι ο υπερασπιστης σου, και θελεις εχει πληθος αργυριου.

For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.

Διοτι τοτε θελεις ευφραινεσθε εις τον Παντοδυναμον, και θελεις υψωσει το προσωπον σου προς τον Θεον.

Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.

Θελεις δεηθη αυτου, και θελει σου εισακουσει, και θελεις αποδωσει τας ευχας σου.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Και ο, τι αποφασισης, θελει κατορθουσθαι εις σε και το φως θελει φεγγει επι τας οδους σου.

When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.

Οταν ταπεινωθη τις, τοτε θελεις ειπει, Ειναι υψωσις διοτι θελει σωσει τον κεκυφοτα τους οφθαλμους.

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

Θελει σωσει και τον μη αθωον ναι, δια της καθαροτητος των χειρων σου θελει σωθη.
