Haggai 1

In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

Εν τω δευτερω ετει Δαρειου του βασιλεως, εν τω εκτω μηνι, τη πρωτη ημερα του μηνος, εγεινε λογος Κυριου δι Αγγαιου του προφητου προς Ζοροβαβελ, τον υιον του Σαλαθιηλ, τον διοικητην του Ιουδα, και προς Ιησουν τον υιον του Ιωσεδεκ, τον ιερεα τον μεγαν, λεγων,

Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built.

Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, λεγων, Ο λαος ουτος λεγουσιν, Ο καιρος δεν ηλθεν, ο καιρος να οικοδομηθη ο οικος του Κυριου.

Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,

Και εγεινε λογος Κυριου δι Αγγαιου του προφητου, λεγων,

Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?

Ειναι καιρος εις εσας, να κατοικητε σεις εν τοις φατνωτοις οικοις σας, ο δε οικος ουτος να ηναι ερημος;

Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Τωρα λοιπον ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, Συλλογισθητε τας οδους σας.

Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

Εσπειρατε πολυ και εισωδευσατε ολιγον, τρωγετε και δεν χορταινετε, πινετε και δεν ευχαριστεισθε, ενδυεσθε και δεν θερμαινεσθε, και ο μισθοδοτουμενος μισθοδοτειται δια βαλαντιον τετρυπημενον.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, Συλλογισθητε τας οδους σας.

Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.

Αναβητε εις το ορος και φερετε ξυλα και οικοδομησατε τον οικον, και θελω ευαρεστηθη εις αυτον και θελω ενδοξασθη, λεγει Κυριος.

Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.

Επεβλεψατε εις πολυ, και ιδου, εγεινεν ολιγον και εφερατε τουτο εις τον οικον και εγω απεφυσησα αυτο. Δια τι; λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων. Εξ αιτιας του οικου μου, οστις ειναι ερημος, ενω σεις τρεχετε εκαστος εις τον οικον αυτου.

Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.

Δια τουτο ο ουρανος απεκλεισεν απο σας την δροσον αυτου και η γη απεκλεισε τον καρπον αυτης,

And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

και εκαλεσα ανομβριαν επι την γην και επι τα ορη, επι τον σιτον και επι το γλευκος και επι το ελαιον και εφ οσα εκφερει η γη, και επι τους ανθρωπους και επι τα κτηνη, και επι παντας τους κοπους των χειρων αυτων.

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.

Και υπηκουσε Ζοροβαβελ ο υιος του Σαλαθιηλ και Ιησους ο υιος του Ιωσεδεκ, ο ιερευς ο μεγας, και παν το υπολοιπον του λαου, εις την φωνην Κυριου του Θεου αυτων και εις τους λογους Αγγαιου του προφητου, καθως απεστειλεν αυτον Κυριος ο Θεος αυτων και εφοβηθη ο λαος ενωπιον του Κυριου.

Then spake Haggai the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.

Και ελαλησεν Αγγαιος ο απεσταλμενος του Κυριου κατα την αγγελιαν του Κυριου προς τον λαον, λεγων, Εγω ειμαι με σας, λεγει Κυριος.

And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

Και διηγειρεν ο Κυριος το πνευμα του Ζοροβαβελ υιου του Σαλαθιηλ, του διοικητου του Ιουδα, και το πνευμα του Ιησου υιου του Ιωσεδεκ, του ιερεως του μεγαλου, και το πνευμα παντος του υπολοιπου του λαου, και ηλθον και ειργαζοντο εν τω οικω του Κυριου των δυναμεων, του Θεου αυτων,

In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

εν τη εικοστη τεταρτη ημερα του εκτου μηνος, εν τω δευτερω ετει Δαρειου του βασιλεως.
