Esther 7

So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.

Ηλθον λοιπον ο βασιλευς και ο Αμαν να συμποσιασωσι μετα της Εσθηρ της βασιλισσης.

And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.

Και ειπε παλιν ο βασιλευς προς την Εσθηρ την δευτεραν ημεραν επι του συμποσιου του οινου, Τι το ζητημα σου, βασιλισσα Εσθηρ; και θελει δοθη εις σε και τις η αιτησις σου; και εως του ημισεος της βασιλειας εαν ζητησης, θελει γεινει.

Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

Τοτε απεκριθη η Εσθηρ η βασιλισσα και ειπεν, Εαν ευρηκα χαριν ενωπιον σου, βασιλευ, και εαν ηναι αρεστον εις τον βασιλεα, η ζωη μου ας μοι δοθη εις το ζητημα μου και ο λαος μου εις την αιτησιν μου

For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.

διοτι επωληθημεν, εγω και ο λαος μου, εις απωλειαν, εις σφαγην και εις ολεθρον και εαν ηθελομεν πωληθη ως δουλοι και δουλαι ηθελον σιωπησει, αν και ο εχθρος δεν ηδυνατο να αναπληρωση την ζημιαν του βασιλεως.

Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

Τοτε απεκριθη ο βασιλευς Ασσουηρης και ειπε προς την Εσθηρ την βασιλισσαν, Τις ειναι αυτος και που ειναι εκεινος, οστις ετολμησε να καμη ουτω;

And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

Και ειπεν η Εσθηρ, Ο εναντιος και εχθρος ειναι ουτος ο αχρειος Αμαν. Τοτε εταραχθη ο Αμαν ενωπιον του βασιλεως και της βασιλισσης.

And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

Και σηκωθεις ο βασιλευς απο του συμποσιου του οινου ωργισμενος υπηγεν εις τον κηπον του παλατιου ο δε Αμαν εσταθη, δια να ζητηση την ζωην αυτου παρα της Εσθηρ της βασιλισσης διοτι ειδεν οτι κακον ητο αποφασισμενον εναντιον αυτου παρα του βασιλεως.

Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

Και επεστρεψεν ο βασιλευς απο του κηπου του παλατιου εις τον οικον του συμποσιου του οινου ο δε Αμαν ητο πεπτωκως επι της κλινης εφ ης ητο η Εσθηρ. Και ειπεν ο βασιλευς, Θελει ετι και την βασιλισσαν να βιαση εμπροσθεν μου εν τω οικω; Ο λογος εξηλθεν εκ του στοματος του βασιλεως και εσκεπασαν το προσωπον του Αμαν.

And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.

Και ειπεν ο Αρβονα, εις εκ των ευνουχων, ενωπιον του βασιλεως, Ιδου, και το ξυλον πεντηκοντα πηχων το υψος, το οποιον ο Αμαν εκαμε δια τον Μαροδοχαιον, τον λαλησαντα αγαθα υπερ του βασιλεως, ισταται εν τη οικια του Αμαν. Και ειπεν ο βασιλευς, Κρεμασατε αυτον επ αυτου.

So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

Και εκρεμασαν τον Αμαν επι του ξυλου, το οποιον ητοιμασε δια τον Μαροδοχαιον. Και κατεπαυσεν ο θυμος του βασιλεως.
