I Chronicles 15

And David made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.

Και ο Δαβιδ εκαμεν εις εαυτον οικιας εν τη πολει Δαβιδ, και ητοιμασε τοπον δια την κιβωτον του Θεου και εστησε σκηνην δι αυτην.

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Τοτε ειπεν ο Δαβιδ, Δεν πρεπει να σηκωσωσι την κιβωτον του Θεου ειμη οι Λευιται διοτι αυτους εξελεξεν ο Κυριος δια να σηκονωσι την κιβωτον του Θεου και να λειτουργωσιν εν αυτη διαπαντος.

And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

Και συνηθροισεν ο Δαβιδ παντα τον Ισραηλ εις την Ιερουσαλημ, δια να αναβιβασωσι την κιβωτον του Κυριου εις τον τοπον αυτης, τον οποιον ητοιμασε δι αυτην.

And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:

Και συνηθροισεν ο Δαβιδ τους υιους του Ααρων και τους Λευιτας

Of the sons of Kohath; Uriel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twenty:

εκ των υιων Κααθ, Ουριηλ τον αρχηγον και τους αδελφους αυτου, εκατον εικοσι

Of the sons of Merari; Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty:

εκ των υιων Μεραρι, Ασαιαν τον αρχηγον και τους αδελφους αυτου, διακοσιους εικοσι

Of the sons of Gershom; Joel the chief, and his brethren an hundred and thirty:

εκ των υιων Γηρσωμ, Ιωηλ τον αρχηγον και τους αδελφους αυτου, εκατον τριακοντα

Of the sons of Elizaphan; Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred:

εκ των υιων Ελισαφαν, Σεμαιαν τον αρχηγον και τους αδελφους αυτου, διακοσιους

Of the sons of Hebron; Eliel the chief, and his brethren fourscore:

εκ των υιων Χεβρων, Ελιηλ τον αρχηγον και τους αδελφους αυτου, ογδοηκοντα

Of the sons of Uzziel; Amminadab the chief, and his brethren an hundred and twelve.

εκ των υιων Οζιηλ, Αμμιναδαβ τον αρχηγον και τους αδελφους αυτου, εκατον δωδεκα.

And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab,

Και εκαλεσεν ο Δαβιδ τον Σαδωκ και τον Αβιαθαρ, τους ιερεις, και τους Λευιτας Ουριηλ, Ασαιαν, και Ιωηλ, Σεμαιαν και Ελιηλ και Αμμιναδαβ,

And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that I have prepared for it.

και ειπε προς αυτους, σεις οι αρχοντες των πατριων των Λευιτων, αγιασθητε σεις και οι αδελφοι σας, και αναβιβασατε την κιβωτον Κυριου του Θεου του Ισραηλ εις τον τοπον τον οποιον ητοιμασα δι αυτην

For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

διοτι, επειδη σεις δεν εκαμετε τουτο την αρχην, Κυριος ο Θεος ημων εκαμε χαλασμον εν ημιν, καθοτι δεν εζητησαμεν αυτον κατα το διατεταγμενον.

So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel.

Οι ιερεις λοιπον και οι Λευιται ηγιασθησαν, δια να αναβιβασωσι την κιβωτον Κυριου του Θεου του Ισραηλ.

And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according to the word of the LORD.

Και εσηκωσαν οι υιοι των Λευιτων την κιβωτον του Θεου επι ωμων με τους μοχλους εφ εαυτων, καθως προσεταξεν ο Μωυσης κατα τον λογον του Κυριου.

And David spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of musick, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy.

Και ειπεν ο Δαβιδ προς τους αρχηγους των Λευιτων να στησωσι τους αδελφους αυτων τους ψαλτωδους με οργανα μουσικα, ψαλτηρια και κιθαρας και κυμβαλα, δια να ηχωσιν υψονοντες φωνην εν ευφροσυνη.

So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

Και εστησαν οι Λευιται τον Αιμαν υιον του Ιωηλ και εκ των αδελφων αυτου, τον Ασαφ υιον του Βαραχιου και εκ των υιων Μεραρι των αδελφων αυτων, τον Εθαν υιον του Κεισαια

And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed–edom, and Jeiel, the porters.

και μετ αυτων, τους δευτερευοντας αδελφους αυτων, Ζαχαριαν, Βεν και Ιααζιηλ και Σεμιραμωθ και Ιεχιηλ και Ουννι, Ελιαβ και Βεναιαν και Μαασιαν και Ματταθιαν και Ελιφελεου και Μικνειαν και Ωβηδ−εδωμ και Ιειηλ, τους πυλωρους.

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass;

Ουτως οι ψαλτωδοι, Αιμαν, Ασαφ και Εθαν, διωρισθησαν δια να ηχωσι με κυμβαλα χαλκινα

And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with psalteries on Alamoth;

ο δε Ζαχαριας και Αζιηλ και Σεμιραμωθ και Ιεχιηλ και Ουννι και Ελιαβ και Μαασιας και Βεναιας, με ψαλτηρια επι Αλαμωθ

And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed–edom, and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to excel.

και ο Ματταθιας και Ελιφελεου και Μικνειας και Ωβηδ−εδωμ και Ιειηλ και Αζαζιας, με κιθαρας επι Σεμινιθ, δια να ενισχυσωσι τον τονον.

And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was for song: he instructed about the song, because he was skilful.

Και ο Χενανιας ητο πρωταοιδος των Λευιτων, προεδρευων εις το αδειν, επειδη ητο συνετος.

And Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Ο δε Βαραχιας και Ελκανα ησαν πυλωροι της κιβωτου.

And Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, did blow with the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed–edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

Και ο Σεβανιας και Ιωσαφατ και Ναθαναηλ και Αμασαι και Ζαχαριας και Βεναιας και Ελιεζερ, οι ιερεις, εσαλπιζον με τας σαλπιγγας εμπροσθεν της κιβωτου του Θεου ο δε Ωβηδ−εδωμ και Ιεχια ησαν πυλωροι της κιβωτου.

So David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the house of Obed–edom with joy.

Και υπηγαν ο Δαβιδ και οι πρεσβυτεροι του Ισραηλ και οι χιλιαρχοι να αναβιβασωσι την κιβωτον της διαθηκης του Κυριου εκ του οικου του Ωβηδ−εδωμ εν ευφροσυνη.

And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.

Και οτε ο Θεος ενισχυε τους Λευιτας τους βασταζοντας την κιβωτον της διαθηκης του Κυριου, εθυσιαζον επτα μοσχους και επτα κριους.

And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen.

Και ο Δαβιδ ητο ενδεδυμενος στολην βυσσινην, και παντες οι Λευιται οι βασταζοντες την κιβωτον και οι ψαλτωδοι και ο Χενανιας ο πρωταοιδος των ψαλτωδων και εφορει ο Δαβιδ εφοδ λινουν.

Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps.

Ουτω πας ο Ισραηλ ανεβιβαζε την κιβωτον της διαθηκης του Κυριου εν αλαλαγμω και εν φωνη κερατινης και εν σαλπιγξι και εν κυμβαλοις, ηχουντες εν ψαλτηριοις και εν κιθαραις.

And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

Και ενω η κιβωτος της διαθηκης του Κυριου εισηρχετο εις την πολιν Δαβιδ, Μιχαλ, η θυγατηρ του Σαουλ, εκυψε δια της θυριδος και ιδουσα τον βασιλεα Δαβιδ χορευοντα και παιζοντα, εξουδενωσεν αυτον εν τη καρδια αυτης.
