Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

 Herrens, HERRENS Ande är över mig,  ty HERREN har smort mig  till att förkunna glädjens budskap för de ödmjuka;  han har sänt mig till att läka dem som hava ett förkrossat hjärta,  till att predika frihet för de fångna  och förlossning för de bundna,

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

 till att predika ett nådens år från HERREN  och en hämndens dag från vår Gud,  en dag, då han skall trösta alla sörjande,

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

 då han skall låta de sörjande i Sion  få huvudprydnad i stället för aska,  glädjeolja i stället för sorg,  högtidskläder i stället för en bedrövad ande;  och de skola kallas »rättfärdighetens terebinter»,  »HERRENS plantering, som han vill förhärliga sig med».

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

 Och de skola bygga upp de gamla ruinerna  och upprätta förfädernas ödeplatser;  de skola återställa de förödda städerna,  de platser, som hava legat öde släkte efter släkte.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

 Främlingar skola stå redo      att föra edra hjordar i bet,  och utlänningar skola bruka åt eder      åkrar och vingårdar.

But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

 Men I skolen heta HERRENS präster,  och man skall kalla eder vår Guds tjänare;  I skolen få njuta av folkens skatter,  och deras härlighet skall övergå till eder.

For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

 För eder skam skolen I få dubbelt igen,  och de som ledo smälek skola nu jubla över sin del.  Så skola de få dubbelt att besitta i sitt land;  evig glädje skola de undfå.

For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

 Ty jag, HERREN, älskar, vad rätt är,  och hatar orättfärdigt rov;  och jag skall giva dem deras lön i trofasthet  och sluta ett evigt förbund med dem.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.

 Och deras släkte skall bliva känt bland folken  och deras avkomma bland folkslagen;  alla som se dem skola märka på dem,  att de äro ett släkte, som HERREN har välsignat.

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

 Jag gläder mig storligen i HERREN,  och min själ fröjdar sig i min Gud,  ty han har iklätt mig frälsningens klädnad  och höljt mig i rättfärdighetens mantel,  likasom när en brudgum sätter högtidsbindeln på sitt huvud  eller likasom när en brud pryder sig med sina smycken.

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

 Ty likasom jorden låter sina växter spira fram  och en trädgård sin sådd växa upp,  så skall Herren, HERREN låta rättfärdighet uppväxa  och lovsång inför alla folk.
