Romans 1

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Paulo, servo de Jesus Cristo, chamado para ser apóstolo, separado para o evangelho de Deus,

(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

que ele, outrora, havia prometido por meio de seus profetas nas Sagradas Escrituras,

Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

acerca de seu Filho Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor, que foi feito da descendência de Davi segundo a carne,

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

e que foi declarado Filho de Deus com poder, segundo o espírito de santidade, pela ressurreição dentre os mortos,

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

pelo qual recebemos a graça e o apostolado, por amor do seu nome, para a obediência da fé entre todas as nações,

Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

entre as quais sois também vós, chamados de Jesus Cristo;

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

a todos os que estais em Roma, amados de Deus, chamados para serdes santos: Graça a vós, e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

Primeiramente dou graças ao meu Deus, mediante Jesus Cristo, por todos vós, porque em todo o mundo é anunciada a vossa fé.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Pois Deus, a quem sirvo em meu espírito, no evangelho de seu Filho, me é testemunha de como incessantemente faço menção de vós,

Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

pedindo sempre em minhas orações que, afinal, pela vontade de Deus, se me ofereça boa ocasião para ir ter convosco.

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

Porque desejo muito ver-vos, para vos comunicar algum dom espiritual, a fim de que sejais fortalecidos;

That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

isto é, para que juntamente convosco eu seja consolado convosco pela fé mútua, vossa e minha.

Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

Pois não quero, irmãos, que ignoreis que, muitas vezes, me propus ir ter convosco (mas até agora tenho sido impedido), para conseguir algum fruto entre vós, como também entre os demais gentios.

I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

Eu sou devedor, tanto a gregos como a bárbaros, tanto a sábios como a ignorantes.

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

De modo que, quanto a mim, estou pronto para anunciar o evangelho também a vós que estais em Roma.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Porque não me envergonho do evangelho de Cristo, pois é o poder de Deus para salvação de todo aquele que crê; primeiro do judeu, e também do grego.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Pois nele é revelada a justiça de Deus, de fé em fé, como está escrito: O justo viverá pela fé.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Pois a ira de Deus se revela do céu contra toda a impiedade e injustiça dos homens que detêm a verdade em injustiça.

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

Porquanto, o que de Deus se pode conhecer, neles se manifesta, porque Deus lhes manifestou.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Pois os seus atributos invisíveis, o seu eterno poder e divindade, são claramente vistos desde a criação do mundo, sendo entendidas mediante as coisas criadas, de modo que eles são inescusáveis;

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

porquanto, tendo conhecido a Deus, contudo não o glorificaram como Deus, nem lhe deram graças, antes nas suas especulações se tornaram vãos, e o seu coração insensato se obscureceu.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Professando-se sábios, tornaram-se loucos,

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

e mudaram a glória do Deus incorruptível em semelhança da imagem de homem corruptível, e de aves, de quadrúpedes e répteis.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Por isso, Deus os entregou à imundícia, pelos desejos dos corações deles, para desonrarem os seus corpos entre si;

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

pois mudaram a verdade de Deus em mentira, e adoraram e serviram à criatura mais que ao Criador, que é bendito eternamente. Amém.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

Pelo que Deus os entregou a paixões infames. Porque até as suas mulheres mudaram o uso natural por um que é contrário à natureza;

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

semelhantemente, os homens também, deixando o uso natural da mulher, se inflamaram em sua sensualidade uns para como os outros, homem com homem, cometendo torpeza e recebendo em si mesmos a devida recompensa do seu erro.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

E assim como eles rejeitaram o conhecimento de Deus, Deus, por sua vez, os entregou a uma mente depravada, para praticarem coisas que não convêm;

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

estando cheios de toda a injustiça, fornicação, malícia, cobiça, maldade; cheios de inveja, homicídio, contenda, engano, malignidade; sendo difamadores,

Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

caluniadores, odiando a Deus, insolentes, soberbos, presunçosos, inventores de males, desobedientes aos pais,

Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

insensatos, infiéis nos contratos, sem afeição natural, irreconciliáveis, sem misericórdia;

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

os quais, conhecendo bem a sentença de Deus, que declara dignos de morte os que tais coisas praticam, não somente as fazem, mas também têm prazer nos que as praticam.
