Psalms 90

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Senhor, tu tens sido o nosso refúgio de geração em geração.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Antes que nascessem os montes, ou que tivesses formado a terra e o mundo, sim, de eternidade a eternidade tu és Deus.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

Tu reduzes o homem ao pó, e dizes: Voltai, filhos dos homens!

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Porque mil anos aos teus olhos são como o dia de ontem que passou, e como uma vigília da noite.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

Tu os levas como por uma torrente; são como um sono; de manhã são como a erva que cresce;

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

de manhã cresce e floresce; à tarde corta-se e seca.

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Pois somos consumidos pela tua ira, e pelo teu furor somos conturbados.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

Diante de ti puseste as nossas iniquidades, à luz do teu rosto os nossos pecados ocultos.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

Pois todos os nossos dias vão passando na tua indignação; acabam-se os nossos anos como um suspiro.

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

A duração da nossa vida é de setenta anos; e se alguns, pela sua robustez, chegam a oitenta anos, a medida deles é canseira e enfado; pois passa rapidamente, e nós voamos.

Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

Quem conhece o poder da tua ira? E a tua cólera, segundo o temor que te é devido?

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

Ensina-nos a contar os nossos dias de tal maneira que alcancemos corações sábios.

Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

Volta-te para nós, Senhor! Até quando? Tem compaixão dos teus servos.

O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Sacia-nos de manhã com a tua benignidade, para que nos regozijemos e nos alegremos todos os nossos dias.

Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

Alegra-nos pelos dias em que nos afligiste, e pelos anos em que vimos o mal.

Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

Apareça a tua obra aos teus servos, e a tua glória sobre seus filhos.

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Seja sobre nós a graça do Senhor, nosso Deus; e confirma sobre nós a obra das nossas mãos; sim, confirma a obra das nossas mãos.
