Jonah 2

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,

Lecz Pan był nagotował rybę wielką, żeby pożarła Jonasza; i był Jonasz we wnętrznościach onej ryby trzy dni i trzy nocy.

And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

I modlił się Jonasz Panu, Bogu swemu, we wnętrznościach onej ryby,

For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

I rzekł: Wołałem z ucisku swego do Pana, a ozwał mi się; z głębokości grobu wołałem, a wysłuchałeś głos mój.

Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

Boś mię wrzucił w głębokość w pośrodek morza, i rzeka ogarnęła mię; wszystkie nawałności twoje i powodzi twoje zwaliły się na mię.

The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

Jużem był rzekł: Wygnanym jest od oczów twoich, wszakże jeszcze będę patrzał na kościół twój święty.

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

Ogarnęły mię wody aż do duszy, przepaść mię ogarnęła, rogożem obwiniona była głowa moja.

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

Zstąpiłem aż do spodku gór, ziemia się zaworami swemi zawarła nademną na wieki; tyś jednak wywiódł z dołu żywot mój, o Panie, Boże mój!

They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

Gdy ustawała we mnie dusza moja, wspomniałem na Pana; modlitwa moja przyszła do ciebie, do świętego kościoła twego.

But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

Którzy pilnują marności nikczemnych, pozbawiają się miłosierdzia Bożego;

And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

Ale ja z głosem dziękczynienia ofiarować ci będę, com ślubował, spełnię; od Pana jest obfite wybawienie. I rozkazał Pan onej rybie, a wyrzuciła Jonasza na brzeg.
