Amos 8

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.

Izao no nasehon'i Jehovah Tompo tamiko; Indro, nisy harona feno voankazo masaka fahavaratra.

And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

Ary hoy Izy: Inona no hitanao, ry Amosa? Dia hoy izaho: Harona feno voankazo masaka fahavaratra. Dia hoy Jehovah tamiko: Tonga amin'ny Isiraely oloko ny farany; Tsy handefitra aminy intsony Aho.

And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.

Ho tonga naonaona ny hira ao an-dapa amin'izany andro izany, hoy Jehovah Tompo; Ho be ny faty, Hatraiza hatraiza no hanariany azy. Mangina re!

Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,

Mihanoa izao, ianareo izay mihanahana te-hitelina ny malahelo sy hahafongana ny mpandefitra amin'ny tany

Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

Ka manao hoe: Rahoviana no ho tapitra ny voaloham-bolana, hivarotantsika vary, sy ny Sabata, hanokafantsika ny lava-bary, ka hanakelezana ny efaha sy hanalehibiazana ny sekely, ary hanaovana mizana mandainga

That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?

Mba hovidintsika volafotsy ny mahantra sy kiraro iray lomisy ny malahelo, ary hivarotantsika ny loha-kororoky ny vary?

The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.

Jehovah nianiana tamin'ny Reharehan'i Jakoba ka nanao hoe: Tsy hisy hobadinoiko mandrakizay ny asany na dia iray akory aza!

Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.

Tsy hihorohoro noho izany va ny tany, sy hitomany ny mponina rehetra ao aminy? Eny, ny tany rehetra hihatondraka tahaka an'i Neily sy hihena indray toy ny Neilin'i Egypta.

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Ary amin izany andro izany, hoy Jehovah Tompo, dia halentiko mitataovovonana ny masoandro, ary hohamaiziniko antoandrobenanahary ny tany;

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

Hampodiko ho fitomaniana ny andro firavoravoanareo, ary ho hira fahalahelovana ny hiranareo rehetra, hofeheziko lamba fisaonana ny valahana rehetra, sady hokakasako ny loha rehetra; Ary hataoko ho toy ny fisaonana zanakalahy tokana izany, Ka ny farany dia ho tahaka ny andro mangidy.

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Indro, avy ny andro, hoy Jehovah Tompo, izay hanaterako mosary amin'ny tany, tsy fanirian-kanina anefa, na hetahetan-drano, fa faniriana handre ny tenin'i Jehovah;

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Ary hivembena hatrany amin'ny ranomasina ka hatrany amin'ny ranomasina ny olona ary hatrany amin'ny avaratra ka hatrany amin'ny atsinanana, eny, hivezivezy hitady ny tenin'i Jehovah izy, nefa tsy hahita.

In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

Amin'izany andro izany dia ho jemby noho ny hetaheta ny virijina tsara tarehy sy ny zatovolahy,

They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer–sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.

Dia ireo izay mianiana amin'ny fahotan'i Samaria, ka manao hoe: velona koa ny andriamanitrao, ry Dana, ary raha velona koa ny fanaon'i Beri-sheba; eny, ho lavo izy ka tsy hiarina intsony.
