Romans 6

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Mit mondunk tehát? Megmaradjunk-é a bűnben, hogy a kegyelem annál nagyobb legyen?

God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Távol legyen: a kik meghaltunk a bűnnek, mimódon élnénk még abban?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Avagy nem tudjátok-é, hogy a kik megkeresztelkedtünk Krisztus Jézusba, az ő halálába keresztelkedtünk meg?

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Eltemettettünk azért ő vele együtt a keresztség által a halálba: hogy miképen feltámasztatott Krisztus a halálból az Atyának dicsősége által, azonképen mi is új életben járjunk.

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Mert ha az ő halálának hasonlatossága szerint vele egygyé lettünk, bizonyára feltámadásáé szerint is *azok* leszünk.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Tudván azt, hogy a mi ó emberünk ő vele megfeszíttetett, hogy megerőtelenüljön a bűnnek teste, hogy ezután ne szolgáljunk a bűnnek:

For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Mert a ki meghalt, felszabadult a bűn alól.

Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Hogyha pedig meghaltunk Krisztussal, hiszszük, hogy élünk is ő vele.

Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Tudván, hogy Krisztus, a ki feltámadott a halálból, többé meg nem hal; a halál többé rajta nem uralkodik,

For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Mert hogy meghalt, a bűnnek halt meg egyszer; hogy pedig él, az Istennek él.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ezenképen gondoljátok ti is, hogy meghaltatok a bűnnek, de éltek az Istennek a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztusban.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Ne uralkodjék tehát a bűn a ti halandó testetekben, hogy engedjetek néki az ő kívánságaiban:

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Se ne szánjátok oda a ti tagjaitokat hamisságnak fegyvereiül a bűnnek; hanem szánjátok oda magatokat az Istennek, mint a kik a halálból életre keltetek, és a ti tagjaitokat igazságnak fegyvereiül az Istennek.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Mert a bűn ti rajtatok nem uralkodik; mert nem vagytok törvény alatt, hanem kegyelem alatt.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Mit is tehát? Vétkezzünk-é mivelhogy nem vagyunk törvény alatt, hanem kegyelem alatt? Távol legyen.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Avagy nem tudjátok, hogy a kinek oda szánjátok magatokat szolgákul az engedelmességre, annak vagytok szolgái, a kinek engedelmeskedtek: vagy a bűnnek halálra, vagy az engedelmességnek igazságra?

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

De hála az Istennek, hogy *jóllehet* a bűn szolgái voltatok, de szívetek szerint engedelmeskedtek a tudomány azon alakjának, a melyre adattatok.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Felszabadulván pedig a bűn alól, az igazságnak szolgáivá lettetek.

I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Emberi módon szólok a ti testeteknek erőtlensége miatt. Mert a miképen oda szántátok a ti tagjaitokat a tisztátalanságnak és a hamisságnak szolgáiul a hamisságra: azonképen szánjátok oda most a ti tagjaitokat szolgáiul az igazságnak a megszenteltetésre.

For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Mert mikor a bűn szolgái valátok, az igazságtól szabadok valátok.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

Micsoda gyümölcsét vettétek azért akkor azoknak, a miket most szégyenletek? mert azoknak a vége halál.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Most pedig, minekutána felszabadultatok a bűn alól, szolgáivá lettetek pedig az Istennek: megvan a gyümölcsötök a megszenteltetésre, a vége pedig örök élet.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Mert a bűn zsoldja halál; az Isten kegyelmi ajándéka pedig örök élet a mi Urunk Krisztus Jézusban.
