Isaiah 50

Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

यहोवा कहता है, “हे इस्राएल के लोगों, तुम कहा करते थे कि मैंने तुम्हारी माता यरूशलेम को त्याग दिया। किन्तु वह त्यागपत्र कहाँ है जो प्रमाणित कर दे कि मैंने उसे त्यागा है। हे मेरे बच्चों, क्या मुझको किसी का कुछ देना है क्या अपना कोई कर्ज चुकाने के लिये मैंने तुम्हें बेचा है नहीं! देखो जरा, तुम बिके थे इसलिए कि तुमने बुरे काम किये थे। इसलिए तुम्हारी माँ (यरूशलेम) दूर भेजी गई थी।

Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.

जब मैं घर आया था, मैंने वहाँ किसी को नहीं पाया। मैंने बार—बार पुकारा किन्तु किसी ने उत्तर नहीं दिया। क्या तुम सोचते हो कि तुमको मैं नहीं बचा सकता हूँ मैं तुम्हारी विपत्तियों से तुम्हें बचाने की शक्ति रखता हूँ। देखो, यदि मैं समुद्र को सूखने को आदेश दूँ तो वह सूख जायेगा। मछलियाँ प्राण त्याग देंगी क्योंकि वहाँ जल न होगा और उनकी देह सड़ जायेंगी।

I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

मैं आकाशों को काला कर सकता हूँ। आकाश वैसे ही काले हो जायेंगे जैसे शोकवस्त्र होते हैं।”

The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

मेरे स्वामी यहोवा ने मुझे शिक्षा देने की योग्यता दी है। इसी से अब इन दु:खी लोगों को मैं सशक्त बना रहा हूँ। हर सुबह वह मुझे जगाता है और एक शिष्य के रूप में शिक्षा देता है।

The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

मेरा स्वामी यहोवा सीखने में मेरा सहायक है और मैं उसका विरोधी नहीं बना हूँ। मैं उसके पीछे चलना नहीं छोड़ूँगा।

I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

उन लोगों को मैं अपनी पिटाई करने दूँगा। मैं उन्हें अपनी दाढ़ी के बाल नोचने दूँगा। वे लोग जब मेरे प्रति अपशब्द कहेंगे और मुझ पर थूकेंगे तो मैं अपना मुँह नहीं मोड़ूँगा।

For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

मेरा स्वामी, यहोवा मेरी सहायता करेगा। इसलिये उनके अपशब्द मुझे दु:ख नहीं पहुँचायेंगे। मैं सुदृढ़ रहूँगा। मैं जानता हूँ कि मुझे निराश नहीं होना पड़ेगा।

He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.

यहोवा मेरे साथ है। वह दर्शाता है कि मैं निर्दोष हूँ। इसलिये कोई भी व्यक्ति मुझे अपराधी नहीं दिखा पायेगा। यदि कोई व्यक्ति मुझे अपराधी प्रमाणित करने का जतन करना चाहता है तो वह व्यक्ति मेरे पास आये। हम इसके लिये साथ साथ मुकद्दमा लड़ेंगे।

Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

किन्तु देख, मेरा स्वामी यहोवा मेरी सहायता करता है, सो कोई भी व्यक्ति मुझे दोषी नहीं दिखा सकता। वे सभी लोग मूल्यहीन पुराने कपड़ों जैसे हो जायेंगे। कीड़े उन्हें चट कर जायेंगे।

Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

जो व्यक्ति यहोवा का आदर करता है उसे उसके सेवक की भी सुननी चाहिये। वह सेवक, आगे क्या होगा, इसे जाने बिना ही परमेश्वर में पूरा विश्वास रखते हुए अपना जीवन बिताता है। वह सचमुच यहोवा के नाम में विश्वास रखता है और वह सेवक अपने परमेश्वर के भरोसे रहता है।

Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

“देखो, तुम लोग अपने ही ढंग से जीना चाहते हो। अपनी अग्नि और अपनी मशालों का तुम स्वयं जलाते हो। तुम अपने ही ढंग से रहना चाहते। किन्तु तुम्हें दण्ड दिया जायेगा। तुम अपनी ही आग में गिरोगे और तुम्हारी अपनी ही मशालें तुम्हें जला डालेंगी। ऐसी घटना मैं घटवाऊँगा।”
