Jeremiah 14

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.

Das Wort Jehovas, welches zu Jeremia geschah betreffs der Dürre

Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

Juda trauert, und seine Tore schmachten, liegen in Trauer am Boden, und Jerusalems Klaggeschrei steigt empor.

And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.

Und seine Vornehmen schicken seine Geringen nach Wasser; sie kommen zu den Cisternen, finden kein Wasser, sie kommen leer zurück mit ihren Gefäßen; sie sind beschämt und mit Scham bedeckt und verhüllen ihr Haupt.

Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.

Wegen des Erdbodens, der bestürzt ist, weil kein Regen im Lande war, sind die Ackerleute beschämt, verhüllen ihr Haupt.

Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.

Ja, auch die Hindin auf dem Felde, sie gebiert und verläßt ihre Jungen; denn kein Gras ist da.

And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.

Und die Wildesel stehen auf den kahlen Höhen, schnappen nach Luft wie die Schakale; ihre Augen schmachten hin, denn kein Kraut ist da.

O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.

Wenn unsere Missetaten wider uns zeugen, Jehova, so handle um deines Namens willen; denn viele sind unserer Abtrünnigkeiten, gegen dich haben wir gesündigt.

O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?

Du Hoffnung Israels, sein Retter in der Zeit der Bedrängnis, warum willst du sein wie ein Fremdling im Lande, und wie ein Wanderer, der zum Übernachten eingekehrt ist?

Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.

Warum willst du sein wie ein bestürzter Mann, wie ein Held, der nicht zu retten vermag? Du bist doch in unserer Mitte, Jehova, und wir sind nach deinem Namen genannt; verlaß uns nicht!

Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.

So spricht Jehova zu diesem Volke: Also haben sie geliebt umherzuschweifen, sie hielten ihre Füße nicht zurück; und Jehova hat kein Wohlgefallen an ihnen: nun wird er ihrer Missetaten gedenken und ihre Sünden heimsuchen. -

Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.

Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Bitte nicht für dieses Volk zum Guten.

When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Wenn sie fasten, werde ich nicht auf ihr Flehen hören; und wenn sie Brandopfer und Speisopfer opfern, werde ich kein Wohlgefallen an ihnen haben; sondern ich werde sie durch das Schwert und durch den Hunger und durch die Pest vernichten.

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.

Und ich sprach: Ach, Herr, Jehova! siehe, die Propheten sprechen zu ihnen: Ihr werdet kein Schwert sehen, und Hunger wird euch nicht treffen, sondern ich werde euch einen sicheren Frieden geben an diesem Orte.

Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

Und Jehova sprach zu mir: Die Propheten weissagen Lüge in meinem Namen; ich habe sie nicht gesandt und sie nicht entboten noch zu ihnen geredet; sie weissagen euch Lügengesicht und Wahrsagung und Nichtigkeit und Trug ihres Herzens.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

Darum spricht Jehova also über die Propheten, welche in meinem Namen weissagen, und ich habe sie doch nicht gesandt, und die da sprechen: Weder Schwert noch Hunger wird in diesem Lande sein: -Die Propheten sollen durch das Schwert und durch den Hunger aufgerieben werden.

And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.

Und das Volk, welchem sie weissagen, soll wegen des Hungers und des Schwertes hingeworfen liegen auf den Straßen von Jerusalem; und niemand wird sie begraben, sie, ihre Weiber und ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter; und ich werde ihre Bosheit über sie ausschütten.

Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.

Und du sollst dieses Wort zu ihnen sprechen: Nacht und Tag rinnen meine Augen von Tränen und hören nicht auf; denn die Jungfrau, die Tochter meines Volkes, ist mit großer Zerschmetterung, mit einem sehr schmerzlichen Schlage zerschmettert.

If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.

Wenn ich aufs Feld hinausgehe, siehe da, vom Schwert Erschlagene; und wenn ich in die Stadt komme, siehe da, vor Hunger Verschmachtende. Denn sowohl Propheten als Priester ziehen im Lande umher und wissen nicht Rat

Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!

Hast du Juda gänzlich verworfen? oder verabscheut deine Seele Zion? Warum hast du uns geschlagen, daß keine Heilung für uns ist? Man hofft auf Frieden und da ist nichts Gutes, und auf die Zeit der Heilung, und siehe da, Schrecken.

We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have sinned against thee.

Jehova, wir kennen unsere Gesetzlosigkeit, die Ungerechtigkeit unserer Väter; denn wir haben gegen dich gesündigt.

Do not abhor us, for thy name's sake, do not disgrace the throne of thy glory: remember, break not thy covenant with us.

Verschmähe uns nicht um deines Namens willen, entehre nicht den Thron deiner Herrlichkeit; gedenke, brich nicht deinen Bund mit uns!

Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.

Gibt es unter den Nichtigkeiten der Nationen Regenspender, oder kann der Himmel Regengüsse geben? Bist du es nicht, Jehova, unser Gott? Und wir hoffen auf dich; denn du, du hast dieses alles gemacht.
