Psalms 135

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.

Louez l'Eternel! Louez le nom de l'Eternel, Louez-le, serviteurs de l'Eternel,

Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God,

Qui vous tenez dans la maison de l'Eternel, Dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu!

Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

Louez l'Eternel! car l'Eternel est bon. Chantez à son nom! car il est favorable.

For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Car l'Eternel s'est choisi Jacob, Israël, pour qu'il lui appartînt.

For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

Je sais que l'Eternel est grand, Et que notre Seigneur est au-dessus de tous les dieux.

Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Tout ce que l'Eternel veut, il le fait, Dans les cieux et sur la terre, Dans les mers et dans tous les abîmes.

He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.

Il fait monter les nuages des extrémités de la terre, Il produit les éclairs et la pluie, Il tire le vent de ses trésors.

Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.

Il frappa les premiers-nés de l'Egypte, Depuis les hommes jusqu'aux animaux.

Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

Il envoya des signes et des miracles au milieu de toi, Egypte! Contre Pharaon et contre tous ses serviteurs.

Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;

Il frappa des nations nombreuses, Et tua des rois puissants,

Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:

Sihon, roi des Amoréens, Og, roi de Basan, Et tous les rois de Canaan;

And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.

Et il donna leur pays en héritage, En héritage à Israël, son peuple.

Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.

Eternel! ton nom subsiste à toujours, Eternel! ta mémoire dure de génération en génération.

For the LORD will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants.

Car l'Eternel jugera son peuple, Et il aura pitié de ses serviteurs.

The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

Les idoles des nations sont de l'argent et de l'or, Elles sont l'ouvrage de la main des hommes.

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

Elles ont une bouche et ne parlent point, Elles ont des yeux et ne voient point,

They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.

Elles ont des oreilles et n'entendent point, Elles n'ont point de souffle dans leur bouche.

They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.

Ils leur ressemblent, ceux qui les fabriquent, Tous ceux qui se confient en elles.

Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:

Maison d'Israël, bénissez l'Eternel! Maison d'Aaron, bénissez l'Eternel!

Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: ye that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.

Maison de Lévi, bénissez l'Eternel! Vous qui craignez l'Eternel, bénissez l'Eternel!

Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

Que de Sion l'on bénisse l'Eternel, Qui habite à Jérusalem! Louez l'Eternel!
