Genesis 36

Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.

Voici la postérité d'Esaü, qui est Edom.

Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;

Esaü prit ses femmes parmi les filles de Canaan: Ada, fille d'Elon, le Héthien; Oholibama, fille d'Ana, fille de Tsibeon, le Hévien;

And Bashemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth.

et Basmath, fille d'Ismaël, soeur de Nebajoth.

And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;

Ada enfanta à Esaü Eliphaz; Basmath enfanta Réuel;

And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.

et Oholibama enfanta Jéusch, Jaelam et Koré. Ce sont là les fils d'Esaü, qui lui naquirent dans le pays de Canaan.

And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.

Esaü prit ses femmes, ses fils et ses filles, toutes les personnes de sa maison, ses troupeaux, tout son bétail, et tout le bien qu'il avait acquis au pays de Canaan, et il s'en alla dans un autre pays, loin de Jacob, son frère.

For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.

Car leurs richesses étaient trop considérables pour qu'ils demeurassent ensemble, et la contrée où ils séjournaient ne pouvait plus leur suffire à cause de leurs troupeaux.

Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

Esaü s'établit dans la montagne de Séir. Esaü, c'est Edom.

And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:

Voici la postérité d'Esaü, père d'Edom, dans la montagne de Séir.

These are the names of Esau's sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.

Voici les noms des fils d'Esaü: Eliphaz, fils d'Ada, femme d'Esaü; Réuel, fils de Basmath, femme d'Esaü.

And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

Les fils d'Eliphaz furent: Théman, Omar, Tsepho, Gaetham et Kenaz.

And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau's wife.

Et Thimna était la concubine d'Eliphaz, fils d'Esaü: elle enfanta à Eliphaz Amalek. Ce sont là les fils d'Ada, femme d'Esaü.

And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.

Voici les fils de Réuel: Nahath, Zérach, Schamma et Mizza. Ce sont là les fils de Basmath, femme d'Esaü.

And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

Voici les fils d'Oholibama, fille d'Ana, fille de Tsibeon, femme d'Esaü: elle enfanta à Esaü Jéusch, Jaelam et Koré.

These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,

Voici les chefs de tribus issues des fils d'Esaü. -Voici les fils d'Eliphaz, premier-né d'Esaü: le chef Théman, le chef Omar, le chef Tsepho, le chef Kenaz,

Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.

le chef Koré, le chef Gaetham, le chef Amalek. Ce sont là les chefs issus d'Eliphaz, dans le pays d'Edom. Ce sont les fils d'Ada.

And these are the sons of Reuel Esau's son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.

Voici les fils de Réuel, fils d'Esaü: le chef Nahath, le chef Zérach, le chef Schamma, le chef Mizza. Ce sont là les chefs issus de Réuel, dans le pays d'Edom. Ce sont là les fils de Basmath, femme d'Esaü.

And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau's wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.

Voici les fils d'Oholibama, femme d'Esaü: le chef Jéusch, le chef Jaelam, le chef Koré. Ce sont là les chefs issus d'Oholibama, fille d'Ana, femme d'Esaü.

These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.

Ce sont là les fils d'Esaü, et ce sont là leurs chefs de tribus. Esaü, c'est Edom.

These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,

Voici les fils de Séir, le Horien, anciens habitants du pays: Lothan, Schobal, Tsibeon, Ana,

And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.

Dischon, Etser, et Dischan. Ce sont là les chefs des Horiens, fils de Séir, dans le pays d'Edom.

And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan's sister was Timna.

Les fils de Lothan furent: Hori et Hémam. La soeur de Lothan fut Thimna.

And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

Voici les fils de Schobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Schepho et Onam.

And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.

Voici les fils de Tsibeon: Ajja et Ana. C'est cet Ana qui trouva les sources chaudes dans le désert, quand il faisait paître les ânes de Tsibeon, son père.

And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.

Voici les enfants d'Ana: Dischon, et Oholibama, fille d'Ana.

And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

Voici les fils de Dischon: Hemdan, Eschban, Jithran et Karen.

The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.

Voici les fils d'Etser: Bilhan, Zaavan et Akan.

The children of Dishan are these; Uz, and Aran.

Voici les fils de Dischan: Uts et Aran.

These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,

Voici les chefs des Horiens: le chef Lothan, le chef Schobal, le chef Tsibeon, le chef Ana,

Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.

le chef Dischon, le chef Etser, le chef Dischan. Ce sont là les chefs des Horiens, les chefs qu'ils eurent dans le pays de Séir.

And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.

Voici les rois qui ont régné dans le pays d'Edom, avant qu'un roi régnât sur les enfants d'Israël.

And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

Béla, fils de Béor, régna sur Edom; et le nom de sa ville était Dinhaba.

And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

Béla mourut; et Jobab, fils de Zérach, de Botsra, régna à sa place.

And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.

Jobab mourut; et Huscham, du pays des Thémanites, régna à sa place.

And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

Huscham mourut; et Hadad, fils de Bedad, régna à sa place. C'est lui qui frappa Madian dans les champs de Moab. Le nom de sa ville était Avith.

And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

Hadad mourut; et Samla, de Masréka, régna à sa place.

And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

Samla mourut; et Saül, de Rehoboth sur le fleuve, régna à sa place.

And Saul died, and Baal–hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

Saül mourut; et Baal-Hanan, fils d'Acbor, régna à sa place.

And Baal–hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

Baal-Hanan, fils d'Acbor, mourut; et Hadar régna à sa place. Le nom de sa ville était Pau; et le nom de sa femme Mehéthabeel, fille de Mathred, fille de Mézahab.

And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,

Voici les noms des chefs issus d'Esaü, selon leurs tribus, selon leurs territoires, et d'après leurs noms: le chef Thimna, le chef Alva, le chef Jetheth,

Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

le chef Oholibama, le chef Ela, le chef Pinon,

Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

le chef Kenaz, le chef Théman, le chef Mibtsar,

Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.

le chef Magdiel, le chef Iram. Ce sont là les chefs d'Edom, selon leurs habitations dans le pays qu'ils possédaient. C'est là Esaü, père d'Edom.
