Psalms 11

In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
Davidin Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle. Herraan minä uskallan: kuinka te sanotte sielulleni, että hän lentäis niinkuin lintu teidän vuoreltanne?
For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
Sillä katsos, jumalattomat jännittävät joutsen ja panevat nuolensa jänteelle, salaisesti ampuaksensa hurskaita.
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Sillä he rikkoivat perustuksen: mitä vanhurskas taitaa toimittaa?
The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
Herra on pyhässä templissänsä, Herran istuin on taivaissa; hänen silmänsä ottavat vaarin, ja hänen silmänsä laudat koettelevat ihmisten lapsia.
The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
Herra koettelee vanhurskasta; hänen sielunsa vihaa jumalatointa, ja jotka vääryyttä rakastavat.
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
Hän antaa sataa jumalattomain päälle pitkäisen leimauksia, tulta ja tulikiveä, ja antaa heille tuulispäät palkaksi.
For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
Sillä Herra on vanhurskas ja rakastaa vanhurskautta, että hänen kasvonsa katsovat oikeutta.
