Luke 21

And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.

Mutta kuin hän katsoi, näki hän rikkaat panevan lahjojansa uhri-arkkkuun.

And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.

Hän näki myös köyhän lesken panevan siihen kaksi ropoa.

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:

Ja sanoi: totisesti sanon minä teille: tämä köyhä leski pani enemmän kuin nämät kaikki.

For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

Sillä kaikki nämät panivat siitä, mitä heillä liiaksi oli, Jumalan uhriski, vaan tämä pani köyhyydestänsä kaiken tavaransa, mikä hänellä oli.

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,

Ja kuin muutamat sanoivat hänelle templistä, kuinka kauniilla kivillä ja kappaleilla se kaunistettu oli, niin hän sanoi:

As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Näitäkö te katselette? Ne päivät pitää tuleman, joina ei pidä kiveä kiven päälle jätettämän, jota ei maahan jaoteta.

And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

Niin he kysyivät häneltä ja sanoivat: Mestari, koskas nämät tapahtuvat? ja mikä merkki on, koska nämät tulevat?

And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Hän sanoi: katsokaat, ettei teitä petetä; sillä moni tulee minun nimeeni ja sanoo: minä se olen! aika on kyllä läsnä, älkäät kuitenkaan heitä seuratko.

But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.

Mutta kuin te kuulette sotia ja kapinoita, niin älkäät peljästykö; sillä nämät pitää ensin tapahtuman, vaan ei kohta loppu ole.

Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:

Niin hän sanoi heille: kansa nousee kansaa vastaan, ja valtakunta valtakuntaa vastaan.

And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Ja suuret maan vapistukset pitä joka paikassa tuleman, nälkä ja rutto, kauhistukset ja suuret ihmeet taivaasta tapahtuvat.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

Mutta ennen näitä kaikkia heittävät he kätensä teidän päällenne, vainoovat ja antavat ylön teitä synagogiin ja vankiuteen, ja vetävät teitä kuningasten ja esimiesten eteen, minun nimeni tähden.

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Mutta se tapahtuu teille todistukseksi.

Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:

Niin pankaat nyt se teidän sydämeenne, ettette ennen ajattelisi, kuinka teidän pitää edestänne vastaaman:

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Sillä minä annan teille suun ja viisauden, jota ei he voi puhua vastaan eikä seisoa vastaan, kaikki jotka teitä vastaan ovat.

And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Niin te myös annetaan ylön vanhimmilta, veljiltä, langoilta ja ystäviltä, ja muutamat teistä he tappavat,

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Ja te tulette vihattaviksi kaikilta, minun nimeni tähden.

But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

Vaan ei hiuskarvakaan pidä teidän päästänne hukkuman.

In your patience possess ye your souls.

Pitäkäät teidän sielunne kärsivällisyydessä.

And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Mutta kuin te näette Jerusalemin sotaväeltä piiritettävän, niin tietäkäät, että hänen perikatonsa on lähestynyt.

Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Silloin ne, jotka Juudeassa ovat, paetkaan vuorille, ja jotka hänen keskellänsä ovat, ne lähtekään sieltä ulos, ja jotka maalla ovat, älkään häneen menkö sisälle.

For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Sillä ne ovat kostopäivät, että kaikki täytettäisiin, mitkä kirjoitetut ovat.

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Mutta voi raskaita ja imettäväisiä niinä päivinä! Sillä suuri vaiva pitää maan päällä oleman ja viha tämän kansan päällä.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Ja heidän pitää lankeeman miekan terään, ja he viedään vangiksi kaikkinaisen kansan sekaan. Ja Jerusalem pitää tallattaman pakanoilta, siihen asti kuin pakanain aika täytetään.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Ja merkit pitää oleman auringossa ja kuussa ja tähdissä, ja maassa kansalla ahdistus epäilyksen tähden. Ja meri ja aallot pitää pauhaaman.

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Ja ihmiset maassa pitää nääntymän pelvon ja odottamisen tähden niitä, mitkä maan piirin päälle tulevat; sillä taivaan voimat pitää liikutettaman.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Ja silloin heidän pitää näkemän Ihmisen Pojan tulevan pilvissä suurella voimalla ja kunnialla.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Mutta kuin nämät rupeevat tapahtumaan, niin katsokaat, ja nostakaat päänne ylös; sillä teidän lunastuksenne silloin lähestyy.

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;

Ja hän sanoi heille vertauksen: katsokaat fikunapuuta ja kaikkia puita.

When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

Kuin ne jo puhkeevat, niin te näette ja itse teistänne ymmärrätte, että suvi on jo läsnä.

So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Niin myös te, kuin te näette nämät tapahtuvan, tietäkäät, että Jumalan valtakunta on läsnä.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Totisesti minä sanon teille: ei tämän sukukunnan pidä suinkaan hukkuman, siihenasti kuin nämät kaikki tapahtuvat.

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Taivas ja maa on hukkuva, vaan minun sanani ei pidä ikänä hukkaantuman.

And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Mutta kavahtakaat, ettei teidän sydämenne koskaan raskauteta ylönsyömisestä ja juopumisesta ja elatuksen murheesta, ja se päivä tulee äkisti teidän päällenne.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Sillä se tulee niinkuin paula kaikkein ylitse, jotka koko maan päällä asuvat.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Sentähden valvokaat ja aina rukoilkaat, että te mahdolliset olisitte kaikkia näit välttämään, jotka pitää tapahtuman, ja seisomaan Ihmisen Pojan edessä.

And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

Ja hän opetti päivällä templissä, mutta yöllä meni hän ulos ja oli yötä vuorella, joka kutsutaan Öljymäeksi.

And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Ja kaikki kansa tuli varhain hänen tykönsä templiin, häntä kuulemaan.
