Psalms 63

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

خدایا تو خدای من هستی. من مشتاق تو هستم. مانند یک زمین خشک و سوزان و بی‌آب، با تمام وجود خود تشنهٔ توام.

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

عطا فرما که به جایگاه مقدّس تو داخل شوم و قدرت و جلال تو را ببینم.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

محبّت پایدار تو برای من شیرین‌تر از زندگی است، بنابراین تو را ستایش می‌کنم.

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

تا زنده‌ام از تو سپاسگزارم و دستِ دعا به درگاهت بلند می‌کنم.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

جان من سیر خواهد گردید و زبانم سرودهای شاد برای تو خواهد سرود.

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

شبها وقتی‌که به بستر خود می‌روم تو را به یاد می‌آورم و تمام شب دربارهٔ تو تفکّر می‌کنم،

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

زیرا تو مددکار من بوده‌ای و در سایهٔ بالهای تو سرود شادی می‌سرایم.

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

من به تو متّكی هستم و دست تو مرا محافظت خواهد کرد.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

امّا کسانی‌که قصد کشتن مرا دارند به دنیای مردگان خواهند رفت،

They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

با شمشیر کشته خواهند شد و جسد آنان طعمهٔ شغالان خواهد گردید.

But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

امّا پادشاه به‌خاطر پیروزی که خدا به او عطا کرده است، شادی خواهد کرد. و همهٔ کسانی‌که به نام خدا وعده می‌دهند، او را سپاس خواهند گفت. امّا دهان دروغگویان بسته خواهد شد.
