Colossians 1

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,

از طرف پولس كه به خواست خدا، رسول مسیح عیسی است و از طرف برادر ما تیموتاؤس

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

به دوستان مقدّس و وفادار در شهر كولسیه، كه با مسیح متّحد می‌‌باشند. پدر ما خدا، فیض و آرامش به شما عطا فرماید.

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

هروقت كه برای شما دعا می‌کنیم پدر خداوند ما عیسی مسیح را سپاس می‌گوییم.

Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

زیرا ما از ایمان شما به مسیح عیسی و محبّت شما به همهٔ مقدّسین آگاه هستیم.

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

امید شما به آنچه در عالم بالا در انتظار شماست، باعث این ایمان و محبّت است. وقتی پیام حقیقی یعنی انجیل برای اولین بار به شما رسید، از این امید باخبر شدید.

Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

و این انجیل همان طوری که به شما رسید، به تمام جهان نیز رسیده است و به همان‌نحو‌ كه در جهان ثمر آورده، رشد و نمو می‌کند در میان شما نیز از همان روزی كه از فیض خدا باخبر شدید و در حقیقت آن را درک كردید، عمل كرده است.

As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

شما انجیل را از «اپفراس» عزیز كه همچون ما غلام و از طرف ما خادم وفادار مسیح است، آموختید

Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

و او نیز ما را از محبّتی كه روح‌القدس به شما بخشیده، مطّلع ساخته است.

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

به این جهت از همان روزی كه این را شنیدیم، همیشه برای شما دعا می‌کنیم و از خدا می‌خواهیم كه شما به وسیلهٔ بینش و فهم روحانی، ارادهٔ او را کاملاً درک كنید.

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

سپس شما قادر خواهید بود به طوری که شایستهٔ خداوند است زندگی كنید، کاملاً او را خشنود سازید، در تمام كارهای نیک، زندگی پرثمری داشته باشید و در معرفت خدا رشد و نمو كنید.

Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

و همچنین دعا می‌کنم كه خدا برحسب قدرت پرشكوهش و با تمام نیروی خود شما را تقویت كند تا با شادی و صبر هر چیز را تحمّل كنید.

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

پیوسته خدای پدر را شكر كنید كه شما را لایق آن گردانیده است تا در سرنوشتی كه در عالم نورانی در انتظار مقدّسین است، سهمی داشته باشید.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

او ما را از چنگ نیرومند ظلمت رهانید و به پادشاهی پسر عزیزش منتقل ساخته است.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

خدا به وسیلهٔ او ما را آزاد ساخته و گناهانمان را آمرزیده است.

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

مسیح، صورت و مظهر خدای نادیده است و نخستزاده و بالاتر از همهٔ مخلوقات.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

زیرا به وسیلهٔ او هر آنچه در آسمان و زمین است، دیدنی‌ها و نادیدنی‌ها، پادشاهان، حكمرانان و اولیای امور آفریده شدند، آری تمام موجودات به وسیلهٔ او و برای او آفریده شدند.

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

او قبل از همه‌چیز وجود داشت و همه‌چیز به وسیلهٔ او با هم ارتباط پیدا می‌کند.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

او سر و منشاء بدن یعنی كلیساست و نخستین كسی است كه پس از مرگ زنده گردید تا تنها او در همه‌چیز مقام اول را داشته باشد.

For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

زیرا ارادهٔ خدا بر این تعلّق گرفت كه او دارای الوهیّت كامل باشد.

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

و به وسیلهٔ مسیح، همه‌چیز را با خود آشتی داد و به وسیلهٔ ریختن خون مسیح بر روی صلیب، صلح و دوستی بین خدا و هر آنچه در آسمان و زمین است، برقرار گردید.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

شما زمانی از خدا دور بودید و با کارها و افكار شریرانهٔ خود با او دشمنی داشتید،

In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

امّا اكنون او به وسیلهٔ مرگ جسمانی مسیح شما را با خود متّحد ساخته تا شما را پاک، بی‌عیب و بی‌آلایش به حضور خود بیاورد،

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

البتّه به شرط اینكه ایمان خود را از دست ندهید، محكم و استوار بمانید و آن امیدی را كه در وقت شنیدن انجیل به دست آوردید، ترک نكنید. این همان انجیلی است كه در سرتاسر جهان اعلام گردیده و من «پولس» خادم آن هستم.

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

اكنون از آن رنج و زحمتی كه به‌خاطر شما می‌بینم، خوشحالم. زیرا به وسیلهٔ رنجهای جسمانی خود، آنچه را كه از رنجهای مسیح برای بدن او، یعنی كلیسایش باقیمانده است، تكمیل می‌کنم.

Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

من طبق مأموریتی كه خدا برای خیریّت شما به من عطا فرمود، خادم كلیسا هستم تا پیام خدا را کاملاً اعلام نمایم،

Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

یعنی آن حقیقت اسرار‌آمیز كه طی اعصار و قرون مخفی مانده بود، امّا اكنون برای مقدّسین آشكار شده است.

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

خدا صلاح دانست كه راز پر جلال و بی‌قیاس خود را در میان ملل غیر یهود آشکار سازد و آن سرّ این است كه مسیح در شما ساكن می‌باشد و این حقیقت، مایهٔ امید شما به سهیم شدن در جلال خداست.

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

ما مسیح را به همه می‌شناسانیم و با تمام دانشی كه داریم همه را آگاه ‌ساخته، تعلیم می‌دهیم تا آنها را به صورت افرادی بالغ در مسیح به خدا تقدیم نماییم.

Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

برای انجام این كار، من زحمت می‌کشم و کوشش می‌کنم و از قدرت عظیمی كه مسیح به من می‌دهد و در من كار می‌کند، استفاده می‌نمایم.
