II Samuel 22

And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

داوود بعد از آنکه خداوند او را از دست شائول و دیگر دشمنانش رهانید، این سرود را به سپاس نجات خود، برای خداوند سرایید: خداوند پشتیبان من است، و پناهگاه مستحکم من.

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

داوود بعد از آنکه خداوند او را از دست شائول و دیگر دشمنانش رهانید، این سرود را به سپاس نجات خود، برای خداوند سرایید: خداوند پشتیبان من است، و پناهگاه مستحکم من.

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

خدای من، نجات‌دهندهٔ من است. او همانند یک پناهگاه از من محافظت می‌‌کند؛ او مرا حمایت می‌کند و در امنیّت نگاه می‌دارد. او نجات‌دهندهٔ من است. او مرا حمایت می‌کند و از دست دشمنانم رهایی‌ام می‌‌بخشد.

I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

خداوند را که شایستهٔ سپاس و ستایش است می‌طلبم، و از شر دشمنانم در امان هستم.

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

امواج مرگ به دورم حلقه زده‌اند و امواج نابودکننده احاطه‌ام کرده‌اند.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

طنابهای گور به دورم حلقه زده‌اند و مرگ، دام خود را بر سر راهم قرار داده است.

In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

در مشکلاتم به حضور خداوند زاری نمودم، از خدای خود کمک خواستم. و او از معبد خود نالهٔ مرا شنید و فریاد من به گوشش رسید.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

آنگاه زمین لرزید و تکان خورد و بنیاد آسمانها از شدّت خشم او به لرزه افتاد.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

از سوراخهای بینی او دود برآمد و از دهانش زغال برافروخته و آتش کشنده بیرون آمد.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

او آسمانها را شکافت و فرود آمد و زیر پاهایش ابرهای سیاه بود.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

او با سرعت بر فرشتهٔ بالدار خود پرواز کرد و بر بالهای باد پرواز کرد.

And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

او با تاریکی خود را پوشانید و ابرهای سیاه باران‌زا احاطه‌اش کردند.

Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

از روشنی حضور او شراره‌ها زبانه کشیدند.

The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

خداوند نیز در آسمانها با صدای رعدآسا سخن گفت. و صدای خداوند متعال شنیده شد.

And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

تیرهای خود را پرتاب نمود و دشمنانش را پراکنده ساخت و با رعد و برق همه را آشفته کرد.

And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

عمق دریا ظاهر شد و بنیاد زمین آشکار گردید، هنگامی که خداوند دشمنانش را توبیخ کرد و با خشم بر آنها غرید.

He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

خداوند دستش را از آسمان دراز کرد و مرا برگرفت؛ و از آبهای عمیق مرا بیرون کشید.

He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

او مرا از دست دشمنان قدرتمندم و از دست تمام کسانی‌که از من متنفّرند رهانید آنها برایم خیلی قوی بودند.

They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

وقتی در سختی بودم، بر سرم ریختند، امّا خداوند از من حمایت کرد.

He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

او مرا کمک کرد تا از خطر رهایی یابم؛ او مرا نجات داد زیرا از من خشنود بود.

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

خداوند به‌خاطر نیکوکاری‌ام به من پاداش داد و به‌خاطر بی‌گناهی‌ام به من برکت عطا نمود.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

من دستورات خداوند را بجا آورده‌ام و روی خود را از خدا برنگردانیده‌ام.

For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

احکام او را انجام داده‌ام و از اوامر او سرپیچی نکرده‌ام.

I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

در پیشگاه او بی‌عیب بوده و از گناه دوری کرده‌ام.

Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

بنابراین به‌خاطر نیکوکاری‌ام به من پاداش داد، و به‌خاطر بی‌گناهی‌ام به من برکت عطا نمود.

With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

ای خداوند، تو با اشخاص وفادار، وفادار هستی و به مردم بی‌عیب، نیکویی می‌کنی.

With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

با کسانی‌که پاک هستند با پاکی رفتار می‌نمایی و با کسانی‌‌‌که کجرو هستند مخالفت می‌کنی.

And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

تو فروتنان را نجات می‌بخشی، و اشخاص متکبّر را سرنگون می‌کنی.

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

ای خداوند، تو نور من هستی تاریکی مرا روشن گردان.

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

با نیروی تو به دشمن یورش می‌برم و دژهای آنان را درهم می‌شکنم.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

راه خدا کامل و وعدهٔ خدا قابل اطمینان است، او حافظ کسانی‌ است که به او پناه می‌برند.

For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

خداوند، تنها خداست؛ خدا تنها تکیه‌گاه ماست.

God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

این خدا، پناهگاه پایدار من است و راه من را امن ساخته است.

He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

پاهای مرا مانند پاهای آهو ساخته و بر کوهها استوارم نموده است.

He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

دستهایم را برای جنگ تعلیم می‌دهد تا بتوانم قویترین کمان را به دست گیرم.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

ای خداوند تو از من حمایت نموده و مرا نجات دادی، کمک تو مرا به عظمت رسانید.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

راه را برای قدمهایم هموار ساختی، تا پاهایم نلغزند.

I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

دشمنانم را تعقیب کردم و آنها را شکست دادم؛ و تا آنها را از بین نبردم بازنگشتم.

And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

آنها را بکلّی پایمال نمودم تا دیگر بر نخیزند و به زیر پاهایم جان دادند.

For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

تو برای مبارزه به من نیرو بخشیدی و دشمنانم زیر پاهایم جان دادند.

Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

دشمنانم را متواری ساختی و کسانی را که از من نفرت داشتند، نابود کردم.

They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

آنها برای کمک زاری می‌کنند، امّا کسی به دادشان نمی‌رسد. خداوند را صدا کردند، امّا او به آنها جوابی نداد.

Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

من آنها را همچون غبار زمین، خُرد کردم و به زیر پاهای خود مانند گل و لای کوچه پایمال نمودم.

Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

تو مرا از دست مردم ستیزه‌گر رهانیدی، و فرمانروایی مرا بر ملّتها حفظ نمودی؛ مردمی را که نمی‌شناختم، اکنون مرا خدمت می‌کنند.

Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

بیگانگان نزد من تعظیم می‌کنند و دستوراتم را فوراً اطاعت می‌نمایند.

Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

آنها دلسرد شده‌اند و با ترس و لرز از قلعه‌‌های خود بیرون می‌آیند.

The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

خداوند زنده است! حامی خود را ستایش می‌کنم! متبارک باد خدای قدرتمند که مرا نجات می‌دهد!

It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

او در برابر دشمنانم مرا پیروزی می‌بخشد و ملل جهان را به دست من مغلوب می‌سازد.

And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

او مرا از دست دشمنانم می‌رهاند. و نزد دشمنانم سرافرازم می‌نماید و مرا از چنگ مردم ظالم نجات می‌دهد.

Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

بنابراین من تو را در میان ملّتها ستایش می‌کنم و سرود نیایش برای تو می‌خوانم.

He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

خداوند پیروزی و افتخار را نصیب پادشاه برگزیدهٔ خود می‌کند و به برگزیدهٔ خود داوود، و فرزاندان او برای همیشه رحمت و شفقت نشان می‌دهد.
