Psalms 138

I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

(Af David.) Jeg vil prise dig HERRE, at hele lovsynge dig for Guderne;

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

jeg vil tilbede, vendt mod dit hellige Tempel, og mere end alt vil jeg prise dit Navn for din Miskundheds og Trofastheds Skyld; thi du har herliggjort dit Ord.

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Den Dag jeg råbte, svared du mig, du gav mig Mod, i min Sjæl kom Styrke.

All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.

Alle Jordens Konger skal prise dig, HERRE, når de hører din Munds Ord,

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.

og synge om HERRENs Veje; thi stor er HERRENs Ære,

Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

thi HERREN er ophøjet, ser til den ringe, han kender den stolte i Frastand.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Går jeg i Trængsel, du værger mig Livet, mod Fjendernes Vrede udrækker du Hånden, din højre bringer mig Frelse.

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

HERREN vil føre det igennem for mig, din Miskundhed, HERRE, varer evindelig. Opgiv ej dine Hænders Værk!
