Psalms 78

Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

(По слав. 77) Маскил на Асаф. Слушайте наставлението ми, народе мой, наклонете ушите си към думите на устата ми!

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:

Ще отворя устата си в притча, ще произнеса гатанки от древността.

Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

Това, което сме чули и научили, и нашите бащи са ни разказвали,

We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

няма да скрием от синовете им, разказвайки на идното поколение славните дела на ГОСПОДА и Неговата сила, и чудните Му дела, които извърши.

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

Защото Той постави свидетелство в Яков и определи закон в Израил, които заповяда на бащите ни, да ги предават на синовете си,

That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

за да ги знае идното поколение — синовете, които щяха да се родят — за да станат и да ги разказват на своите синове;

That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

и да положат упованието си в Бога и да не забравят Божиите дела, и да пазят Неговите заповеди,

And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

и да не бъдат като бащите си — упорито и бунтовно поколение, поколение, което не опази право сърцето си и чийто дух не беше верен на Бога.

The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

Синовете на Ефрем, стрелци, въоръжени с лъкове, се обърнаха назад в деня на битката.

They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;

Не опазиха завета на Бога и отказаха да ходят в закона Му,

And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

и забравиха делата Му и чудесата Му, които им показа.

Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

Той извърши чудеса пред техните бащи, в египетската земя, в полето Цоан.

He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.

Раздели морето и ги преведе, и направи водите да стоят като бент.

In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.

И ги води през деня със облак а през цялата нощ — с огнена светлина.

He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

Разцепи канари в пустинята и ги напои изобилно като от големи бездни.

He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.

Извади и потоци от канарата и направи да потекат води като реки.

And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.

Но те продължиха да съгрешават против Него, противяха се на Всевишния в пустинята.

And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.

Изпитаха Бога в сърцето си, като поискаха храна според прищявката си.

Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

И говориха против Бога, казаха: Може ли Бог да приготви трапеза в пустинята?

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Ето, Той удари канарата и избликнаха води, и потекоха потоци. Дали ще може да даде и хляб? Ще може ли да приготви месо за Своя народ?

Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;

Затова, когато ГОСПОД чу, се разгневи и огън се запали против Яков, а също и гняв се надигна против Израил,

Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:

защото не повярваха на Бога и не се довериха на спасението Му.

Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

Но пак Той заповяда на облаците горе и отвори небесните врати,

And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.

и наваля манна върху тях, за да ядат, и им даде небесното жито.

Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.

Човек ядеше хляба на силните; Той им прати храна до насита.

He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.

Повдигна на небето източния вятър и със силата Си докара южния вятър.

He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:

Наваля месо върху тях като прах, крилати птици като морския пясък,

And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

направи ги да падат насред стана им, около жилищата им.

So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;

И ядоха и се преситиха, и Той задоволи прищявката им.

They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,

Но още не бяха се отвърнали от прищявката си, храната им беше още в устата им,

The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.

и Божият гняв се надигна против тях и изби най-тлъстите от тях, и повали отбраните мъже на Израил.

For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.

И при все това, те още съгрешаваха и не повярваха на чудесата Му.

Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.

Затова Той остави дните им да чезнат в суета и годините им — в ужас.

When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.

Когато ги убиваше, тогава Го търсеха, обръщаха се и усърдно търсеха Бога.

And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.

И си спомняха, че Бог бе канарата им и Бог, Всевишният, бе Изкупителят им.

Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

Но с устата си Го мамеха и с езика си Го лъжеха,

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.

защото сърцето им не беше непоколебимо към Него и не бяха верни на завета Му.

But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

Но Той беше милостив и прощаваше беззаконията им и не ги погубваше. Да! Много пъти отвръщаше гнева Си и не надигаше цялата Си ярост,

For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

защото си спомняше, че бяха плът, лъх, който преминава и не се връща.

How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

Колко пъти Му се противиха в пустинята и Го наскърбяваха в безводната земя!

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

Да, отново и отново изпитваха Бога и огорчаваха Светия Израилев!

They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.

Не си спомняха Неговата сила, деня, когато ги избави от противника,

How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan:

когато извърши знаменията Си в Египет и чудесата Си в полето Цоан.

And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.

Превърна реките им в кръв и потоците им, и не можеха да пият.

He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.

Изпрати сред тях рояци мухи, които ги изпоядоха, и жаби, които ги съсипаха.

He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.

Предаде и реколтата им на гъсеницата и труда им — на скакалеца.

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.

Порази лозята им с град и черниците им — със слана.

He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.

Предаде и добитъка им на град и стадата им — на мълнии.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

Изля върху тях изгарящия Си гняв, ярост, негодувание и беда — нашествие на ангели на злото.

He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;

Изравни път за гнева Си, не пощади душата им от смърт, а предаде живота им на мор.

And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham:

Порази всеки първороден в Египет, първата рожба на мъжествеността им в шатрите на Хам.

But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

А Своя народ изведе като овце и ги води като стадо в пустинята.

And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

Води ги безопасно и те не се страхуваха; а морето погълна враговете им.

And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.

Така Той ги въведе в святата Си земя, на планината, която десницата Му беше придобила.

He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.

Той изгони пред тях езичниците и им ги раздели с мярка за наследство, и в шатрите им насели племената на Израил.

Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:

Но те пак изпитваха Бога, Всевишния, бунтуваха се против Него и не пазеха наставленията Му,

But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.

а се връщаха назад и постъпваха невярно като бащите си, изметнаха се като неверен лък.

For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

И Го предизвикваха към гняв с високите си места и Го подбуждаха към ревност с изваяните си идоли.

When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:

Бог чу и се разяри, и много се отврати от Израил,

So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;

и напусна скинията в Сило, шатъра, в който обитаваше между хората,

And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.

и предаде на плен силата Си и славата Си — в ръката на врага.

He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance.

Предаде и народа Си на меча и се изпълни с ярост към наследството Си.

The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.

Огън погълна младежите Му и девойките Му останаха без сватбени песни.

Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.

Свещениците Му паднаха от меч и вдовиците им не плакаха.

Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.

Тогава Господ се събуди като от сън, като силен мъж, който изтрезнява от вино.

And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.

И Той порази враговете Си изотзад и им наложи вечен позор.

Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:

И Той отхвърли шатъра на Йосиф и не избра ефремовото племе;

But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.

а избра юдовото племе, хълма Сион, който възлюби.

And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.

Построи светилището Си като височините, като земята, която е основал до века.

He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

Избра и слугата Си Давид и го взе от кошарите на овцете;

From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

доведе го от дойните овце, за да пасе народа Му Яков и наследството Му Израил.

So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

И той ги пасеше според чистотата на сърцето си и ги водеше с умението на ръцете си.
