Deuteronomy 19

When the LORD thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the LORD thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

Когато ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, изтреби народите, чиято земя ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, ти дава, и ти ги изгониш и се заселиш в градовете им и в къщите им,

Thou shalt separate three cities for thee in the midst of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.

да си отделиш три града сред земята си, която ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, ти дава да я притежаваш.

Thou shalt prepare thee a way, and divide the coasts of thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, that every slayer may flee thither.

Да си приготвиш пътя до тях и да разделиш на три части областите на земята, която ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, ти дава за наследство, за да прибягва там всеки убиец.

And this is the case of the slayer, which shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso killeth his neighbour ignorantly, whom he hated not in time past;

А това е правилото за убиеца, който може да избяга там и да остане жив: онзи, който убие ближния си неволно, без да го е мразил преди това —

As when a man goeth into the wood with his neighbour to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slippeth from the helve, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die; he shall flee unto one of those cities, and live:

както когато някой отиде с приятеля си в гора, за да сече дърва, и ръката му удари със секирата, за да отсече дървото, и желязото изскочи от дръжката и улучи ближния му, и той умре — такъв може да прибегне в един от тези градове, и ще живее;

Lest the avenger of the blood pursue the slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he hated him not in time past.

да не би отмъстителят за кръвта да преследва убиеца, като е пламнало сърцето му, и да го настигне, тъй като пътят е дълъг, и да го убие, въпреки че не заслужава смъртна присъда, тъй като не го е мразил преди това.

Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.

Затова ти заповядвам и казвам: Отдели си три града.

And if the LORD thy God enlarge thy coast, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;

И ако ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, разшири областите ти, както се закле на бащите ти, и ти даде цялата земя, която обеща да даде на бащите ти,

If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:

ако пазиш и вършиш целия този закон, който ти заповядвам днес — да любиш ГОСПОДА, своя Бог, и да ходиш винаги в Неговите пътища — тогава да си прибавиш още три града към тези три,

That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

за да не се пролее невинна кръв сред земята, която ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, ти дава за наследство и да няма върху теб вина за кръвопролитие.

But if any man hate his neighbour, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:

Но ако някой мрази ближния си и го причака, и се надигне против него, и го удари смъртоносно, и той умре, а той избяга в един от тези градове,

Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

тогава старейшините на града му да пратят и да го вземат оттам, и да го предадат в ръката на отмъстителя за кръвта, за да умре.

Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.

Окото ти да не го пожали и да отмахнеш от Израил вината за невинна кръв, за да ти бъде добре.

Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance, which thou shalt inherit in the land that the LORD thy God giveth thee to possess it.

Да не преместваш границата на ближния си, която дедите ти са поставили в наследството, което ще наследиш в земята, която ГОСПОД, твоят Бог, ти дава да я притежаваш.

One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

Един свидетел да не се изправя против някого за каквото и да е беззаконие и за какъвто и да е грях, при какъвто и да е грях, който някой извърши; от устата на двама свидетели или от устата на трима свидетели да се потвърждава всяко нещо.

If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong;

Ако против някой човек се изправи неправеден свидетел, за да свидетелства против него за някакво престъпление,

Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;

тогава и двамата мъже в спора да застанат пред ГОСПОДА, пред свещениците и съдиите, които са в онези дни.

And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

И съдиите да разследват подробно, и ето, ако свидетелят е лъжесвидетел, и е свидетелствал лъжливо против брат си,

Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

тогава да му направите така, както той е бил намислил да направи на брат си. Така да отмахнеш злото отсред себе си.

And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

И останалите ще чуят и ще се убоят, и няма да вършат занапред такова зло сред теб.

And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Окото ти да не го пожали: живот за живот, око за око, зъб за зъб, ръка за ръка, крак за крак.
