II Kings 3

Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

А в осемнадесетата година на юдовия цар Йосафат, Йорам, синът на Ахав, се възцари над Израил в Самария и царува дванадесет години.

And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made.

Той върши зло пред ГОСПОДА, но не както баща му и майка му, защото махна стълба на Ваал, който баща му беше направил.

Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.

Но той беше привързан към греховете на Еровоам, сина на Нават, който въведе Израил в грях; не се отклони от тях.

And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.

А моавският цар Миса имаше стада и даваше данък на израилевия цар сто хиляди агнета и сто хиляди овни с вълната им.

But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.

И когато Ахав умря, моавският цар въстана против израилевия цар.

And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.

И цар Йорам излезе в онова време от Самария и преброи целия Израил.

And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.

И отиде и изпрати до юдовия цар Йосафат да кажат: Моавският цар въстана против мен. Ще дойдеш ли с мен на бой против Моав? И той каза: Ще се изкача. Аз съм като теб, моят народ — като твоя народ, моите коне — както твоите коне.

And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.

И каза: По кой път да се изкачим? А той отговори: По пътя за пустинята Едом.

So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.

И така, израилевият цар, юдовият цар и едомският цар излязоха и обиколиха седем дни път; и нямаше вода за войската и за добитъка, който беше с тях.

And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!

Тогава израилевият цар каза: Уви! ГОСПОД свика тези трима царе, за да ги предаде в ръката на Моав!

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

А Йосафат каза: Няма ли тук ГОСПОДЕН пророк, за да се допитаме до ГОСПОДА чрез него? И един от слугите на израилевия цар в отговор каза: Тук е Елисей, синът на Сафат, който поливаше вода на ръцете на Илия.

And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.

И Йосафат каза: ГОСПОДНОТО слово е с него. И израилевият цар и Йосафат, и едомският цар слязоха при него.

And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.

А Елисей каза на израилевия цар: Какво има между мен и теб? Иди при пророците на баща си и при пророците на майка си. А израилевият цар му каза: Не, защото ГОСПОД свика тези трима царе за да ги предаде в ръката на Моав!

And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.

А Елисей каза: Жив е ГОСПОД на Войнствата, пред когото стоя — наистина, ако не почитах присъствието на юдовия цар Йосафат, нямаше нито да те погледна, нито да те видя!

But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.

Но сега, доведете ми един свирач. И като свиреше свирачът, ГОСПОДНАТА ръка беше върху него.

And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.

И той каза: Така говори ГОСПОД: Направете в тази долина трап до трап,

For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.

защото така казва ГОСПОД: Няма да видите вятър и няма да видите дъжд, но пак тази долина ще се напълни с вода и ще пиете, вие, стадата ви и добитъка ви.

And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.

Но и това е малко нещо в очите на ГОСПОДА — Той ще предаде и Моав в ръката ви.

And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.

И ще превземете всеки укрепен град и всеки избран град, ще повалите всички добри дървета, ще запушите всички водни извори и ще опустошите с камъни всяко добро парче земя.

And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.

И на сутринта, по времето, когато се принася приносът, ето, от едомския път дойде вода и земята се напълни с вода.

And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.

А като всичките моавци чуха, че царете се изкачили да се бият с тях, се събраха — от всеки, който можеше да опасва меч, и нагоре — и застанаха на границата.

And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:

И като станаха рано сутринта и слънцето изгря над водата, моавците видяха водата отсреща червена като кръв и казаха:

And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.

Това е кръв! Сигурно царете са се били помежду си и са избили едни други. И сега, на плячката, Моаве!

And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.

Но когато дойдоха в израилевия стан, Израил стана и разби моавците, така че те побягнаха пред тях. И те навлязоха в земята им и избиваха моавците.

And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir–haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.

И сринаха градовете и на всяко добро парче земя хвърлиха всеки камъка си и ги напълниха, запушиха всички водни извори и повалиха всички добри дървета. Само камъните на Кир-Аресет устояха, но хвърлячите с прашки го заобиколиха и го обстрелваха.

And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.

И когато моавският цар видя, че битката се засилваше против него, си взе седемстотин мечоносци, за да пробият път до едомския цар, но не можаха.

Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.

Тогава той взе първородния си син, който щеше да се възцари вместо него, и го принесе във всеизгаряне на стената. И дойде голям гняв срещу Израил. И те се оттеглиха от него и се върнаха в земята си.
