II Chronicles 14

So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.

И Авия легна при бащите си и го погребаха в Давидовия град. А вместо него се възцари синът му Аса. В неговите дни земята се успокои за десет години.

And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God:

И Аса върши това, което беше добро и право пред ГОСПОДА, своя Бог.

For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

Той премахна жертвениците на чуждите богове и високите места, разби стълбовете и изсече ашерите.

And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

И заповяда на Юда да търсят ГОСПОДА, Бога на бащите си, и да изпълняват закона и заповедта Му.

Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

И той премахна високите места и стълбовете на слънцето от всичките юдови градове. И царството се успокои под него.

And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.

И той построи укрепени градове в Юда; и земята се успокои и нямаше война срещу него в онези години, понеже ГОСПОД му даде покой.

Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

И той каза на Юда: Нека да построим тези градове и да направим около тях стени и кули, порти и лостове, докато земята е още свободна пред нас, понеже потърсихме ГОСПОДА, своя Бог. Потърсихме Го и Той ни даде покой отвсякъде. И така, строиха и успяха.

And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.

А Аса имаше войска: от Юда триста хиляди щитоносци и копиеносци и от Вениамин двеста и осемдесет хиляди стрелци с лък, които носеха щитчета. Всички бяха силни и храбри.

And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

И етиопецът Зара излезе против тях с войска от хиляда пъти по хиляда мъже и триста колесници и стигна до Мариса.

Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

И Аса излезе срещу него и се строиха за бой в долината Сефата, при Мариса.

And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

И Аса извика към ГОСПОДА, своя Бог и каза: ГОСПОДИ, никой освен теб не може да помогне в битката между многочисления и безсилния. Помогни ни, ГОСПОДИ, Боже наш, защото на Теб се уповаваме и в Твоето Име сме излезли срещу това множество. ГОСПОДИ, Ти си нашият Бог — не може човек да надделее против Теб!

So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

И ГОСПОД разби етиопците пред Аса и пред Юда и етиопците побягнаха.

And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the LORD, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

А Аса и народът, който беше с него, ги преследваха до Герар. И от етиопците паднаха толкова много, че вече не можаха да се съвземат, защото бяха смазани пред ГОСПОДА и пред Неговото войнство. И юдовите мъже отнесоха много голяма плячка.

And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.

Разбиха и всичките градове около Герар, защото страх от ГОСПОДА ги беше обзел, и ограбиха всичките градове, защото в тях имаше голяма плячка.

They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.

Нападнаха и шатрите при стадата и взеха много дребен добитък и камили. И се върнаха в Ерусалим.
